“Can you believe that new traveler is gone already?” Karen asked Paula as they stood at the nursing station waiting for their assignments.
“That tall, skinny chick with the wild red hair and tattoo? I didn’t hear anything. What happened?”
“That’s the one. I think she lived on a boat at the lake. She got caught stealing drugs. She was asking people to waste narcotics with her but didn’t show them the syringe, said she forgot. This morning when we were getting report, she was acting weird and laughing. She was so out of it that she fell off her stool. One of her patients denied that he had received any pain meds throughout the night, yet she’d scanned Dilaudid every two hours and charted that she had given it to him.”
