Weeks Later
Shawn’s pov
“You were looking at your phone all through the meeting. Is everything okay?” My father said behind me after I shook hands with one of the partners.
I turned around to face him. “Yeah, I have somewhere to be so just making sure this meeting doesn’t go longer than it’s meant to,” I answered my father as a few of the partners exited the conference room.
“A date?” Papa teased.
I smiled. “Why do you say so?”
“It’s only when my daughter-in-law is involved that you get this hyped.”
My smile got bigger as I tucked both my hands in my pocket.
“Yeah, you’re right. I need to pick her up because we have somewhere important to be.”
“That’s fine, but do you have a minute for us to discuss?”
I arched a brow at my father.
“I won’t take too much of your time.”
