Ahm, how will I know if you are hiring again?” I asked him with a smile on my face even though I am so tired right now.   “We will send you a message the moment we are hiring again.” He said while smiling at me.   “Oh, thank you so much!” I said and I just smiled at him before I leave. I just let out a heavy sigh while I was walking away from the third company I try to search for a job for this day. Ah! I guess I will just try my luck tomorrow. I decided to eat lunch first before going home but the moment I saw my wallet and saw my money that is only enough for my fare, I decided to just buy a drink to relieve my thirst and eat in our house. I started to walk again until I saw this food cart so I decided to stop there to buy a drink.   “Ahm, can I have one apple juice?” I told the seller as I stopped in front of this food cart.   “What size?” She asked me with a smile on her face.   “Just the small one,” I said and she just smiled at me as she nods before making my juice.   “Here is your drink Ma’am.” She said so I immediately get it from her hand and took a sip from it while getting money from my wallet.   “Here’s my pay,” I said as I handed over the money to her.   “Thank you, Ma’am.” She said so I just smiled at her and nods before I start to walk towards the bus stop.   “Ah, I shouldn’t leave my last job! It’s so hard to find a new one!” I said to myself and then took another sip from my juice. I was peacefully walking on the street of the Global City when it suddenly starts raining, so I immediately checked my bag to get my umbrella but my umbrella is nowhere to be found.   “Oh crap! I don’t have my umbrella with me!” I said to myself while still digging my bag but I cannot truly see my umbrella so I started to run towards the shelter and as I arrived there, I started to dry myself using the tissue paper I got from the food cart where I bought my juice. After drying myself and while looking at the pouring rain, a guy suddenly bumped me which causes my juice to spilled into my whole dress. Geez! What a day! I immediately glared at the guy who bumped me hoping that he will stop just to apologize to me but he just continues on walking as if he didn’t do anything to me.   “Hey! Hey you, the guy who bumped me!” I shouted at him but he didn’t even turn around nor say anything to me to console me. God! What a jerk! I just continue on watching him using my sharp gazes when two men in suits approach him and then sheltered him with an umbrella. Wow! So that’s the reason why he didn’t even care to look at me and apologize for what he has done, it is because he is a big-time!   “Ah! You will pay for what you have done to me!” I said to myself while I am still looking at the guy who bumped me. As the rain stopped, I started to walk again to the bus stop and while I am walking in the street, every individual that I encountered was looking at me, specifically at my dress! With an obvious judgment look on their faces while looking at me and at my poor dress. Ah! I will surely slap that guy once I saw him! He will surely pay for this! I just continue on walking towards the bus stop without giving s**t to the people who are looking at me as if I am the dirtiest lady living on this earth! Right at the moment as I arrived at the bus stop, there is already a bus waiting there so I immediately start to walk faster so I can still ride on it.   “Ah, miss are you okay?” The guy beside me asked me out of nowhere as I sit beside him so I just nod at him because I do not want to speak to someone right now because I am not in my mood after all the things that have happened to me this day!   “Really? But why are you trembling so much?” He asked me which made me looked at him while frowning.   “What do you mean?” I asked him and then he just pointed at my hands and saw how it trembles.   “Ah, don’t mind me. I’m fine.” I said even though my voice is shaking.   “But you don’t seem fine to me, so if you wouldn’t mind I can lend you my jacket.” He said as he starts to wraps his jacket around me which leaves me no choice but to let him do it because my body badly needs warmth right now.   “Ah, thank you so much and sorry for troubling you,” I said.   “It’s fine! I just can’t turn blind if there is someone in front of needs help.” He said as he stands from his seat when we are about to approach the next bus stop.                                                                                         “I’m Dior Reid by the way.” He said while smiling at me.   “Thank you so much, Mr. Reid, I’m Treasure Miller,” I said while smiling at him too.   “Nice meeting you Ms. Treasure, I hope this won’t be the last time that I am going to meet you.” He said and then he waved goodbye at me before leaving. As Mr. Reid left, I just looked outside the window while hugging my body because I truly feel so cold! Geez! Why does this bus is so cold?! After a few more minutes of traveling, I finally arrived at the bus stop near our house so I stand up from my seat and walk towards the door. As I head outside the bus, I get my phone from my bag and call my mom so we can walk to our house together.   “Hello mom, I’m here already, where are you?” I asked my mom as she answered my call.   “Oh, I am already nearby wait for me there.” She said   “Okay mom, take care on your way here,”  I said and then ended the call. While waiting for my mother, I just roll through my social media when I suddenly remember about Dior Reid so I decided to look for his account. As I pressed the search button with his name as the keyword on the search tab, I am not that surprised when I saw a lot of accounts with the same name as his.   “Geez! I never thought finding him would be this tough.” I said to myself while I still searching for his account and thank goodness, after a few minutes of searching for his account I finally found it so I decided to check his wall.   “Wow! So he’s working in Smith’s Group of Company?!” I asked myself as I scroll on his wall, I also see their annual company’s party and it truly looks so luxurious.   “Hey Treasure, let’s go.” I almost drop my phone when I heard my mom called me all of a sudden but thank goodness I am holding it tight.   “Hi mom, how’s your day?” I asked her and then kiss her on her cheeks and putting back my phone inside my bag.   “It’s fine, but since it rained today it quite slackens.” She said while smiling at me brightly despite the tiredness you can see through her eyes.   “How about your day?” She asked me while we are walking in the street way to our house.   “Ah, I still wasn’t able to find any job today. All of the companies in my list are not hiring.” I said and then let out a heavy sigh. I feel that my mother caress my hair which made me looked at her.   “Don’t worry your father told me that he already accumulated the capital he needed to start the small business he is talking about.” She said while smiling at me which made me smile too because of how bright and calming my mother’s smile is.   “Wow? Really? That’s good to hear, I should call him later and congratulate him for his achievement!” I said with full of energy which made my mother giggle.   “By the way, what happened to your dress?” She asked me while looking at my dress that got spilled with the apple juice I am drinking earlier.   “Ah, some no manners guy bumped me earlier while I was drinking my apple juice and waiting for the rain to stop. So, it got spilled all over me and that guy didn’t even care to look at me and tell his apology to me and do you know the reason why he didn’t even apologize to a no one like me? It is because he is a big-time person with no manners in nature!” I said and then I put down the merchandise I am holding first on the floor so I can open the door for us.   “You can just put it on the table and go change your dress immediately. You know you cannot use the wet dresses for a long time because of your condition.” My mother said as we head inside so I just nod at her before heading towards our kitchen and put her merchandise there before heading to my room. As I head inside my room, I immediately changed my dress and then head our bathroom to wash my dress and remove the stain on it.   “By the way Treasure, your father told me that after he builds the business he is talking about, he told me that you can stop working.” She said which made me looked at her while I am hanging my dress inside our bathroom.   “Huh. Why do I need to do that mom?” I asked her and then head towards our kitchen so I can help her to cut the veggies for our dinner.   “You are aware of your condition, right? You have that heart disease ever since you were 7 years old. We don’t want you to leave us at an early age, so your father works hard in order to provide everything we need.” She said so I stopped cutting the veggies first before heading towards her.   “Mom, I already told you that even though my heart is not as stable as other normal people have I want to leave the normal life they have. I want to work and help you because I should be the one working for you. Even if father will have his own business now, I won’t still stop on working instead you should be the one that needs to stop working because you are not getting younger mom.” I said and then hugged her from her back before I head back on cutting the veggies. While I was cutting the veggies, I suddenly have thought about my condition. Yes, I have a heart disease called ‘Arrhythmia’ it is a heart problem that concerns the rate or rhythm of my heart. When I am too excited or happy I experienced ‘Tachycardia’ which means my heart is beating unbelievably fast and when I am too sad I experienced ‘Bradycardia’ too which means my heart is beating unbelievably slow, and sometimes I experienced both of them. Arrhythmia is curable if I undergo medication, but since I only came to a poor family I never experience undergoing medication knowing that I have this disease ever since I was 7 years old and I am so lucky because I am already living with this condition for two decades now.   “Hey, Treasure yoo-hoo! Can’t you hear me?” I only came back to reality when I heard my mom is calling me while shaking her hand that is holding my phone.   “What is it, mom?” I asked her while smiling at her.   “Your phone is ringing a lot of times and you didn’t even hear it?” She asked me before handing over the phone.   “Oh, I am so sorry mom! But who’s calling?” I asked her.   “I saw an unregistered number.” She said while she is busy unpacking her bag.   “Oh, is that so? I guess that person will call again if it’s something important.” I said and then put back my phone on the table. I was about to start cutting the veggies again when my phone suddenly rings again so I immediately picked it up from the table and head outside our house.   “Hello?” I said as I answered the call.   “Hi Ms. Miller, thank goodness you answered my call.” The guy from the other line said which made me frowned because he knew my surname!   “Ahm, I am so sorry who is this?” I asked the mystery caller.   “Oh, yeah I am so sorry for not introducing my name first but hi, I am Dior Reid.” He said which surprised me because he was able to get my contact number.   “I’m sorry if I didn’t answer earlier I was busy helping my mom. By the way, may I know your concern, Mr. Reid?” I asked him   “Ah, I was just hoping if I can recruit you in the company I am currently working for?” He asked me which made me automatically smiled because of his question.   “Oh my goodness! Your timing is perfect, I am looking for a job right now!” I said with a hint of excitement in my voice.   “Really? That’s good to hear. Then if you free tomorrow, you can go to the Global Circle Building, I will meet you there at 7:00 am I guess?” He said which made me scream out of the excitement and happiness that I am feeling which is a bad move of mine because it made my heart beats faster and it hurts like hell!   “Ah, okay! Okay then what do I need to bring?” I asked him even though I can barely breathe anymore.   “Just bring your resume and make sure that you are presentable tomorrow.” He said and I just nod at him as if he can see me right now.   “Thank you so much, Mr. Reid!” I said while smiling despite the pain that I am feeling right now.   “No Ms. Miller, thank you so much! Have a good night.” He said and then ended the call, even though I can barely breathe right now I am still smiling as if I don’t feel anything wrong.   “What a day indeed!” I said to myself before my eyes close and lose my consciousness.   The next day… I didn’t know how I was able to get here in my room, but the moment I opened my eyes I find myself laying here on my bed. While I am laying here on my bed, my gaze turns to the wall clock here inside my room and saw that it is only 5:30 in the morning so I decided to head back on sleeping when I suddenly remember about Dior’s offer to me which wakes my whole system and made me stand up from my bed. I head towards my closet to get my hidden and only tuxedo because Dior told me that I need to be presentable later.   “Oh, you’re up early where are you going?” My mother asked me as I head outside my room.   “Ah, do you remember the caller from last night? Well, the reason he called me is that the company where he’s working is currently hiring so he offered it to me. And since I badly need a job right now I immediately grabbed that chance!” I said while smiling at her.   “I guess that’s also the reason why you collapsed last night.” She said with an annoyed look on her face which made me looked at my feet because she is mad at me and when she is mad I cannot look at her face.   “You know you need to me be more careful right? Thank goodness your father was able to see you before you hit your head on the floor!” She said as she starts to pack her merchandise.   “Don’t worry mom, I will take care of myself I promised! Besides you are the one that needs to take care more of herself!” I said and then head towards her to give her a tight hug.   “Don’t worry about your mother, I can still manage. By the way, I need to go now okay? Take care!” She said and then zipped her bag before carrying it. While looking at her walk away from me, I can’t help but shed a tear because she’s already 58 years old and yet she’s still selling somewhere under the heat of the sun or the drop of the rain. I should be the one working for us, not them working for me! I immediately wiped my tears on my face before heading towards the bathroom to take bath. While taking a shower, I am telling myself that I need to get this job no matter what happens! I need this job, that’s it period! After preparing myself and checking all the things I need, I head outside our house with a strong determination that today I will get hired! While I am walking on the street, I received a phone call coming from Dior so I immediately answered it.   “Hello?” I greeted him with full of energy as I answered his call.   “Hey! By the way, good morning, just want to check where are you now?” He asked me.   “I’m already on my way there, are you already there?” I asked him   “Ah, no not yet I am also on my way there.” He said which kind of makes me feel relieved because I thought he is already there.   “Oh! That is good to hear then, I thought you are already there.” I said   “Nah, it’s too early! By the way, see you later then?” He asked me so I just nod at him as if he can see me.   “Yeah! See you later.” I said and then ended the call. Right at the moment after that call, the bus has arrived so I immediately ride on it and pay for my fare. While on my way I can’t help but get nervous because just thinking about the kind of company where I am going to apply, makes me feel anxious. After a few minutes of traveling, I finally arrived at the Global City’s bus stop. I decided to leave a message to Dior first before I walk towards the main building. After sending my message to him, I start to walk there and as I arrived at the main building I saw him standing there while busy on his phone so I decided to call him.   “Dior!” I called his name while I am waving my hand at him.   “Oh! There you are!” He said as he looks in my way.   “Good morning! It is so nice seeing you again.” He said and then hugged me as a greeting.   “Good morning too, Dior,” I said while smiling at him.   “By the way, you looked good!” He said while looking at me which made me blushed because I rarely receive a compliment coming from someone.   “Thank you, you too, you also look good,” I said which made him smiled.   “Thank you, by the way, did you eat breakfast already?” He asked me as we start to walk together.   “Ah yes, I already ate breakfast. How about you?” I asked him.   “Yeah, ahm do you want to hang out at the nearest café first?” He asked me which made me looked at him.   “Ah, sure, sure! We can do that!” I said while smiling at him.   “That is good to hear then. Let’s go?” He said so I just nod at him and then we started to walk again. While we are walking towards the café, we are just talking about basic information about ourselves, or also known as getting to know each other. And you know, while we are talking about ourselves it feels like we have known each other for a long time because of how comfortable we are with each other.
