Schooling
Emily Dickinson walked from the hall where she went to school with wolf children and humans alike. Before 18 the humans never knew they went to school with werewolf children. After 18 however it was a whole nother ball game. She let he blonde hair fall from her ponytail, as the Cadets of Millpoint Military Academy were not required to have it up when not in class or activities. She stood at 5'7", and her 110 pound sculpted frame suited her well. She could tell the changes were beginning to set in, and soon she would have to return to the wolf world. She had turned 18 2 days ago, and was fortunate the full moon was a full week after graduation. She would be required to skip a year, but she knew after that she would be returning to her career in the human world. She could smell the clean water of a spring a few hundred yards away, and hear the creek that was nearly a quarter mile away. Her class mates had always found her skills incredible, never suspecting that Werewolves existed among the humans. They were one of the few supernatural races that could mingle with the humans, and if strict protocol was followed they could mate with, amd turn humans into werewolves. She however was a pureblood royal, and her father had been loathe to allow it. But the laws only allowed so many of his children a place inside the heirarchy, and as the 10th child, she had no place. Most barely acknowledged her as a Princess, and she had none of the responsibilities her brothers and sisters did. Her senses were more attuned because of it, and finally her sight was catching up. Hers were nowhere near as powerful as a turned wolf, but they were far superior to most of the humans she onteracted with daily. She smelled her best friend trying to sneak up on her the day before graduation, and let her think sje was succeeding as she grabbed the wrist that was about to tickle her, and spun the girl in front of her. "Cafet Titus, how is it in 12 years you still habent managed to sneak up on me?" Emily asked her best friend who was laughing. "Why does it seem like you are even stronger now?" Ashley asked as they began walking. Emily knew strength was the last of the abilities to enhance, as her muscles would grow the strength and endurance needed for the wolf form. She had chosen Military School because it required physical education, and she had kept fit her entire academic career. Most Wolf's were naturally strong after the change, but as far as she knew most did not have a 6 pack before the change. "Don't know, maybe you were distracted by all the cute boys." she said flippant as she thought about it. Ashley laughed as her short red hair boumced in the wind, and they walked to the dorms for their final night. Emily made it through all her evening activities, as she began to feel the changes taking hold on her body more as she came closer to the full moon. She had vivid nightmares that night, of an attack on her family. She woke in a cold sweat as the sun crept into the sky, and tried to hide her unease as she got ready for the graduation ceremony. She had no idea that the death and destruction she had witnessed in her dream was being carried out as she prepared. She had awaken during the worst of it, the Moon Goddess sensing her awakening powers as she prepared for the change. Emily walked into the cafeteria, most of the other seniors already there having their own nerves to deal with. Ashley sat down across from her, and could tell the dream was bothering her. "What's up?" Ashley asked knowing they had less than 2 hours before the ceremony began. They had to perform, and each of them had to be at their best. "Nightmare, my whole family was being killed. Don't worry, I will shake it before the ceremony." she said knowing that what sje was saying was a lie. It was hours later when she finally got thenworst feeling, and pain hit her square in the chest. A news report about an apparent attack on a prominent family flashed across the screen, and she saw the house she returned to frequently burning. She read the text at the bottom scroll across saying the entire family had been killed. Just than an alert went off on her phone, and it was confirmed through the supernatural world that she had been made an orphan in one stroke. She hit her knees as she carried her bag, and the Commandant walked over to her with a few others. They walked her to a nearby conference room, and set her down as they broke the news to her. "We were about to inform the authorities that you are-" "No, they cannot be told I survived. I know it makes no sense sir, but it is better for my safety if my world believes me dead with them." Emily said as she was shocked into action. She remembered her training, and knew she had a big target on her now. "I appreciate your concern sir, but as I am exempt from service for one year, I really need to be going." she said as she grabbed her bag and ran. She did not stop until she was outside, and ran almost straight into Ashley. "Good, we need to go." she said making Emily confused. "You are not coming-" Emily began before Ashley cut her off. "Princess, as much as I would love to argue with you, your family was just killed and you are in danger. They do not know your exact whereabouts just yet, but we assume it will only be a matter of time." Ashley said shocking her silent for a few moments. "You have your bags, lets go. We have a lot of ground to cover to get to the first safe house." Without another word both girls took off, and Emily was forced to focus as Ashley was a few days older than she was. She had missed the last full moon by 3 days, and thus would change when Emily did flr the first time. 2 hours later they got to a small cabin, and Ashley unlocked the door with a key she knew the location of well. "This will last a few days while we wait, afterwards we will have a hike to get to the caves before the full moon. It will suck, but we have to take precautions." Ashley said surprising Emily again. "Why do you care about the full moon?" Emily asked sharply not liking the feeling sje was getting. "Because I will change the same as you Princess, I am only a few days older. I am a member of the Royal Security Service, and am assigned as your personal body guard. Have been since we began here all those years ago, and will continue until I am dead. I cannot tell you most of what happened, we just do not know. The house was found on fire, and the bodies were not discovered until it was doused. It does appear to be an attack however." Ashley told her easing her nerves a bit. "It was vampires, they tore them apart. You need to inform our forces to be on the alert." Emily said as she almost became hysterical. "I cannot do anything, I have my orders. I will send a coded message, but my only concern right now is your safety. Get some rest, I will set the perimeter and keep watch." Ashley said before walking out the door.
