“They will be dead before I got to know how to use it!” Learning it will be useless if they’re dead.

“That is where Lorelie comes.” Calcifer is smiling like he was planning on something.

I looked at the lady and she was standing beside the Cart where Rem and Rom are resting.

“What are you going to do?”

She raised her hand. Out of nowhere, balls of water formed in the mid-air. She then clasped her hand, the balls started to move and merge. She placed it above Rom and Rem, then it’s slowly eating them. Rem and Rom are inside of it. They’re not breathing.

“You’re killing them! Stop!” before I have the chance to run and save them. Calcifer stopped me.

“They are still alive but their time stopped while being submerged in that pool.” Their time stopped?

“It only stopped the wound to be the cause of their death and it didn’t help them to recover.” Which means, the lady did this, to give me some time to train healing magic!

“Thank you! This is enough!” I can’t help but be teary-eyed. This time I was given I will use this to save Rem and Rom!

Calcifer's POV.

We are back at the mansion.

The child’s body was put in another room with a big aquarium while the imposter is sleeping soundly.

She collapsed from exhaustion while coming back here. Her body has reached its limits.

“Psst.” Lorelie appeared through the wall.

“You should be guarding the gate.” we are at Ester’s Throne. The glim of the gold still shines through under the moonlight. Her portrait looked brand new even the ages have passed, thanks to that Orb made by that servant...the beauty of the Mansion came back after years of being abandoned.

“I want to see how my child sleeps! I’ve been longing for her.” I still don’t how can Ester bewitched this fish.

This lazy fat ass.

“Then, go to her! What are you doing here?”

“There’s something I want to ask you.” The atmosphere got serious.

I know what she wanted to talk about. But I don’t want to answer any of it.

“How are you going to tell her?”

I don’t have any intention. I’ll make sure she’s not going to know.

I didn’t answer.

“What if she founds out…about the child she cares about?” Not possible. I will cover it up so that she will never know.

“I hope you can solve it yourself. Don’t include me with your shit.” How disrespectful of her to cuss at me.

If you weren't a friend of Ester, you will be long gone for disrespecting me. And, if you only know that Ester is already gone and the one that you keep on cuddling and hugging is another person residing in Ester’s body.

I wonder how you look if you found out. Is it the look of despair and disgust? Or, the look of loss and betrayal?

I wanted to know but my urge not to tell you is overwhelming. I wanted to see how she would lie and trick you into letting you think that she is Ester.

Not knowing the one that you love is gone is my good comeback.

I should tell that imposter not to tell Lorelie who she truly is.

Ester's POV.

I was told by Calcifer to hide my identity because Lorelie might not trust and would never help me because I’m using the body of her beloved. She might get angry and undo the magic she put in Rem and Rom.

So, I agreed to the terms of Calcifer to never tell anyone about me. But, it is kind of suspicious why only Calcifer knows about my situation.

Oh right! He’s the one to bring me to life.

“What are you spacing out?” The lady asked.

She’s been clinging to me since I woke up, doesn’t she have a gate to guard.

How do I know about this? Because Calcifer keeps mentioning it like, “Guard the gate, Lorelie.”

That. That’s what I meant.

“Eh? I want to see how the child training goes.” The lady is like a ghost, transparent and levitating in the air. How did she look like that?

“You’re not needed here, go away.” Calcifer shushed her.

“I will go if the child told me, I’m not going to listen to you sea urchin.”

“Pft.” I held my laughter. Sea urchin? Hahaha! I can’t imagine his head in the sea and corals.

I can feel his glares. He’s really mad. If I don’t shush Lorelie, he will surely increase the level of my training.

“Lady, go away for now. Calcifer looks angry.” I whispered in her ear.

“He doesn’t matter to me. He can be mad all he wants. I don’t care.” She said it aloud.

Oh no! He’s angrier than before!

“You don’t understand…” she won’t listen to me then I have a great idea.

“Lady, I can’t focus on my training because I’m worried that there’s might something happened to the gate. Can you guard it for me? I promise after my training we will have a bonding together.” Her face brighten.

“Really! All right. I will see you later!” she then disappeared.

“Let’s start.” Calcifer was a bit strict at me. I don’t know why…he’s been like this since we met.

“You’ve been giving 12 blessings by the High Beings and we will slowly manifest it.” 12 huh? It is exactly the same number as the 12 High Beings. Each of them, gave one to Ester, I wonder what is it?

I remembered that Fudashi-san also gave me a blessing but the difference is that he is not a High Being hahaha!

Isn’t Ester a kind of OP and isn’t this unfair for the High Being too, that they are given power but they cannot use it because they should not interfere with the affairs of humans? But, I don’t think this problem is for humans only because demons are also included. If I were to say, this is the problem of the High Beings isn’t their job to restore peace?

Wait…if the High Beings were jealous of Ester then why not just take back the blessings?

I asked Calcifer and he said that you cannot take back what you have given.
