Paul, on the other hand, recognized the change and shook his head. Following that, he softly told Chloe, “Don't worry about that, we can find out during tomorrow’s banquet nevertheless.”
Hearing her brother’s words, Chloe realizes Paul has noticed her changes and nods to indicate she is aware.
Seeing Chloe’s glum expression, Paul smiled lightly and offered her to take tomorrow leave, suggesting she go out shopping with the girls.
Chloe protested and argued that she must investigate what led to Pixy Media’s bankruptcy, but Paul shot back that he’d take care of everything. As a result, she was powerless to resist and had no choice but to accept Abigal and Susan's invitation to go home.
When Chloe was preparing to open the door, Paul abruptly said, “I saw that George is back.” When Abigal discovered that George was back, she was first startled then recovered quickly. Paul, nonetheless, noticed it and grimaced.
“Yes!” Before he even began his speech, Chloe replied with a calm expression.
“I know what I’m doing, and I’ll never be the same naive girl, brother,” she stated to everyone.
When Abigal heard what her pal had to say, she sighed. But Paul simply said, “I know Coco, but do remember what we told too,” with a light smile.
“What are your plans for tonight?” he inquired further.
Chloe understood her brother’s actual purpose and smiles at him.
“Don’t worry, brother, I’ll be home today to talk more. Also, get the best therapist for me as soon as possible,” she said that as she opened the door and walked out, ignorant to the shocked look at the faces of everyone inside.
After a few moments, everyone regained their composure and glanced at each other. After directing the girls outside, Paul asked Stanley to comply with Chloe’s request.
Chloe was followed by Abigal and Susan to the parking lot. When they arrived, they inquired as to what it was for. Chloe pondered acting foolish, but knowing her pals, she chose to reveal the truth.
Twenty minutes or so later, they arrived at Chloe’s flat. After what Chloe said, nobody spoke on the walk to the mall.
When Chloe disclosed her issues with George, they both were in shock and had no idea what to respond.
After a brief pause, Abigal finally said, “Well, Coco! Don’t be as hasty as you were the last time.”
Chloe gave her a “what the f**k” face as she tilted her head in her direction.
“In my defence, George is now treating you well. You should also take into account that you two only met a year ago and that the pace of development is too quick. Like I warned last time, you’ll have to wait a little longer for more sensitive matters,” she defended herself.
“I know Abi,” Chloe answered. “However, thank you for the remainder. I just want to figure out what my problem is,” she said as she entered her flat.
On the other side, a man taking a call in a four-star apartment on the suburbs of South Tarus city had a forlorn expression on their face.
“Where the hell is he hiding?”
George yelled through his phone. His sinister aura sprang spontaneously from his body.
The guy politely said, “We don't know, boss and we couldn’t hack his assistant phone either.”
“OK, keep an eye on him. If you find any leads, just contact me immediately,” George said flatly before hanging himself.
“Liam Wulfric I’ll hunt you down and kill you personally, even if you survived the poison I fed you,” George took a breath to calm himself and went to take a shower after thinking this.
He picked up the phone after taking a shower to call Chloe, but the next second a message flashed up that enraged him to death. His expression was filled with wrath as his nose flared up.
“Game starts now,” it stated.
He then yelled “Bastard!” and broke all the furniture in a frenzy of rage.
Then he grabbed his phone and texted the number to trace, but he received no response, which enraged him even more.
Three girls headed to the nearby eatery for midnight nibbles after two hours of conversation. Chloe’s phone rang just then.
Her mouth twisted into a smile when she saw the caller ID and responded in front of her pals.
“Hi! George,” she answered cheerfully, but her grin vanished when she heard what the person on the other line said.
Regardless of how delighted she was to finally receive his phone, he said, “Liam was the one behind Pixy Media bankruptcy,” and then he revealed his theory.
“Ok! I’ll take care of this with Paul. You leave it to me and rest good,” she said in an unpleasant tone.
Chloe refused his offer of assistance by telling him he had to go with her the following day to the hospital when he responded no and proposed helping.
She reassured George that it was simply a routine inspection when he voiced concerns about her health. Only after that did he express his relief, adding that he also intended to do a basic examination.
Then Chloe told him her primary reason for seeing a psychologist and requested him to do the same. They agreed that morning he will do the examination while she is at the psychologist’s office, and then in the afternoon they will switch roles. He didn’t know why but eventually said okay.
Chloe said goodbye to her pals and hung up the phone before returning to Wilson Mansion with a sour face.
Her phone vibrated when she parked her car at Martin Mansion’s gate. When she picked up her phone, she received a message from an unknown number, which she opened.
However, as she read the message, her heart quickly became cold.
“Good Luck - Liam,” it said.
She responded, “Go to Hell,” and got out of the car, went into the house. She never got a reply so never bothered from then.
In the living room, Paul and Victoria Clark, Paul’s wife, are sat on the left side of the couch, facing her father, Stephen Wilson, who is seated on the right side. All had expressionless faces.
When she realized this, she groaned and went to sit beside his father. She sat down and curled up in her father’s arms.
“Who offended you, Coco?” Stephen questioned her after noticing a problem. She continued to huddle close instead of responding, but they did not pressurize her. Stephen then affectionately stroked her head and wrapped his arms over her shoulder.
She eventually turned to face her father and grinned. Chloe said, “It’s Liam and he brought Pixy Media to its fall.”
When he heard what she said, Paul cast a wary glance Chloe’s way and questioned, “Who told you that?”
He spoke with a chilly, uninterested tone. Chloe then went on to discuss her conversation with George, his theory, and the most recent message she had received.
“And you believed that?” Paul asked Chloe in flat tone and disappointment written all over his face.
“Hubby! Why would George lied about this to Coco, after all they’re now together and Liam meant nothing to our Coco therefore, maybe he is right” Victoria chimed in to alleviate the tension in the room.
“Thank You! Sister-in-Law," Chloe said to Victoria. Victoria nodded but kept quiet.
After a brief scowl, Paul sighed and said, “You both are mistaken. According to our intellect, Liam has been nowhere to be seen. And while he may have played some role in it, I didn’t think it was totally his fault.”
Then he informed every one of his points of view and what Stanley and Simon had said to him at office earlier. When Chloe overheard, she questioned her father, “What do you think, dad?” with a relaxed look.
Stephen said calmly, “I agree with Paul, it may be linked to the banquet held by Wulfric Group and Liam may not be the perpetrator.”
Chloe’s expressionless face conveys her disagreement with them. And three of them each gave their individual viewpoints.
Victoria exited the living room after seeing the situation to get coffee and food from the kitchen.
When she noticed that they were still disputing, she rushed to the centre of the group and yelled, “Stop it!”
