What Happened

Hira: STOP SANJAY

Hira tried to pull Sanjay off Mateo but Sanjay didn’t move an inch and didn’t stop hitting Mateo till Mateo was able to push Sanjay from over him, Sanjay fell on his back and Hira screamed and put her hand over her chest

Hira in Spanish: Mateo don’t hit him

Mateo frowned to Hira and said in Spanish

Mateo: does it look like I am the one hitting?!!!

(Signaling on his face before Sanjay kicked him in his leg, Mateo fell on his back and Sanjay jumped over him again)

Hira: SANJAY STOP

And she looked around on the crowd that gathered with their camera’s phones 

Hira: oh my god, we will go Viral  

Viola smiled: I am on it

(Hira frowned to Viola who was filming the fight like the others)

Hira: VIOLA, do something, it’s all your fault

Viola: it’s not me who has two boyfriends

Hira frowned: I don’t have two boyfriends

Viola: whatever (then she jumped) BRAVO INSANJU, THAT IS MY BROTHER

Hira frowned and walked through the crowd back to Sanjay and jumped over his back, holding by her wrist on his arms  

Hira frowned: STOP IT, STOP OR YOU WILL HIT ME TOO

Sanjay’s hand stopped in the air and Mateo took a breath in relief, Hira smiled

Hira: thank god it’s over (then she said in Spanish) are you okay, Mateo?

Mateo in Spanish: I am okay, Carino (sweetheart)

Hira’s eyes widened: oh no

Sanjay groaned in anger and pushed Hira off his back, she fell sitting and he continued punching Mateo, she was about to jump on Sanjay’s back again but heard clapping behind her and in Spanish

‘” fight, fight, fight”

Hira turned and they were two teenage boys, identical twins, with bleached white hair, brown eyes and wearing shirts written on it “Hira’s Team”, it took her few seconds to scream happily

Hira: OH MY GOD, PEDRO? MARIO?

The twins smiled widely: YES

Mateo held Sanjay’s hand with both his hands and screamed with wide smile

Mateo in Spanish: SURPRISE

Then left Sanjay’s hand back to punch him on the chin, Hira ran towards the twins and jumped In their arms, and they hugged her and kissed her cheeks as she kissed theirs; Viola frowned confused and walked towards them

Viola: oh god, how many boyfriends do you have?

The twins looked at her and put Hira down and Hira turned to her with a frown

Hira: this is.... (Then she tightened her eyes) wait who is Pedro?

Pedro: how can’t you know? I am Pedro, the handsomer one

Mario: that was before I bleach my hair too, now I am the handsomer one

Hira frowned: for the 100 times you look exactly the same

Pedro smiled proudly: he wishes!!

Viola frowned: I still don’t know who are they?

Mario: we are the sons of Hira’s nanny

Hira frowned: Mario, you are my brothers and she is the kind woman that raised me

Pedro: and you are the kindest sister ever

Mario: oh man, the fight is over and the police took them before I get a picture with the dude hitting stupid Mateo

Hira: SANJAY?

Pedro: I can’t believe you forgave Mateo after his awful prank 

Viola smiled widely: what? What Prank?

Hira put her hand on her chest and turned to see the airport security holding Sanjay and Mateo, and taking them away; she pulled Viola’s hand, running behind Sanjay and Mateo and the twins followed

Two hours later

In the airport

At the interrogation room

Sanjay frowned looking at Hira who entered the room and sat across him and beside Mateo; the officer looked at them as he walked back and forth in the small room

The officer: Mr. Sanjay, Mr. Mateo refused to talk in front of our translator, and trust only Ms. Hira to translate his words, and we accepted her to be in the interrogation

Sanjay frowned and looked the other way and Hira rolled her eyes

The officer: we also were informed with your special condition from Ms. Hira and were able to contact your father and he came and solved the issue of you not having any identification Paper

Sanjay frowned to Hira more and shook his head in disappointment and Hira who frowned back at him

Officer: but you entered the airport and hit a tourist, you may go to prison if Mr. Mateo decided to press charges

Sanjay frowned: for the 100 time, he kissed her forcibly, she couldn’t fight him so I fought him, anyone in my place would have done that

Hira: yes that is what happened

Mateo looked at her with a frowned and Hira swallowed and smiled

Hira in Spanish: Sanjay said you kissed me forcibly and I said of course no, he is my boyfriend for five beautiful years

Mateo smiled then he frowned and said in Spanish

Mateo: I want to put him in prison for many, many years, translate it Hira

Hira smiled: Si (then she looked at the officer) he is saying he forgives Sanjay, and don’t want to press any charges, they are going to be good friends

Mateo frowned and nodded as Sanjay looked the other way with a frown and the officer nodded

The officer: Lucky for you Mr. Sanjay (then he looked at Mateo) thank you, Mr. Mateo; welcome to your second home

Mateo looked at Hira who shook her head in disbelief

Hira in Spanish: he is saying you can’t press charges against Sanjay; you don’t have enough evidence

Mateo’s eyes widened and signaled on his bruised face then cursed angrily hitting the table and the officer looked at Hira surprised

Hira: he has to go to the bathroom so bad

The officer: oh sure, you may all leave

Hira smiled and they got out, Viola and the twins were waiting and the three smiled seeing Sanjay, Mateo and Hira getting out

Pedro: Mr. Sanjay, I am a big fan of your work

Sanjay looked at Mateo’s face then at Pedro and Mario who were smiling to him with admiration

Sanjay smiled: I am sorry; I don’t know who are you..?!!

Mario smiled: we are Hira’s brothers, I am Mario and this is Pedro, didn’t she tell you about us?

Sanjay smiled half a smile: no, but don’t feel bad she doesn’t tell me anything anyway (then he looked at Hira) I thought I know her but I guess I don’t

Hira frowned and pulled him away, Mateo’s eyes widened and he was about to go behind them but Viola held his hand, Hira looked at them on not so far distance then said in low tone

Hira: what Sanjay? What is the reason for all this anger?

Sanjay frowned: what is the reason?!!! Hira you have a boyfriend, why didn’t you tell me about that?

Hira frowned: so what?!!! I have a boyfriend and didn’t tell you, you have a fiancée and didn’t tell me

Sanjay angrily: what are you talking about, I don’t have a fiancée!!!

Hira raised an eyebrow: really?!!! (Then she angrily whispered) what about Nelly?!! The girl you fought with your Parents because you can’t wait to marry her when you can grow a mustache and be a man

Sanjay’s frown vanished and his eyes stopped blinking for a moment, then he swallowed and said strictly

Sanjay: I don’t know who told you about that, but we were just 13, we were kids in the same classroom, and in the same musical band, our families were friends, naturally we spent a lot of time together but did we really want to spend our life together? Absolutely not, that is why we forgot easily and moved on (then he said angrily) but you...you are calling him (Carino), you were happy to see him, as if I don’t mean......

Hira frowned: you? Sanjay, we met two days ago, you don’t have any rights on me, especially with that attitude, okay?

Sanjay’s frown vanished and stared at her eyes for a moment and Hira swallowed and put her hand on her chest, trying as possible to stay strong in front of his disappointed eyes and not crumble

Sanjay: you are right; I don’t know what I was thinking

Hira swallowed again and looked down and he nodded then turned and walked away

Sanjay frowned: come on, we have to return

Hira walked behind him but he stopped for a moment seeing Adarsh and Marie standing with Viola and the twins

Adarsh frowned: SANJAY, HIRA

Sanjay frowned more and rushed his steps towards them and Marie walked towards them angrily

Marie: ...of course, when Hira is in the equation then it’s either you run away from the mansion or fight with a tourist in the airport

Hira frowned: or save his life, Mrs. Singh Khatri 

Marie frowned more and both Adarsh and Sanjay smiled identical half a smile then it vanished when they looked at each other

Adarsh: what happened has happened and were able to fix the situation with the airport (then he frowned) here is your neck chain, phone and your mother’s keys but we are keeping the keys

Hira’s eyes widened and put her hand on her chest, seeing the silver neck chain with rose that she bought from the old lady, never wore then lost

She looked at Sanjay with widened eyes and put her hand on her chest, but Sanjay didn’t look at her, just gave her , her mobile phone then he wore the neck chain and put it under his shirt

Adarsh: I hope you fixed the situation with the tourist

Viola: don’t worry, he is Hira’s boyfriend and he won’t press charges 

Marie smiled widely: really? Her boyfriend

Pedro and Mario made a vomiting gesture, looking at Mateo and Hira frowned to them

Marie: thank you for your understanding

Mateo smiled and said in Spanish: I will put your son in Prison

Marie smiled: oh that is so sweet (then she said in a whisper) what did he say?

Hira: he is saying he doesn’t understand, I will translate what you said for him, Mateo? 

And she walked few steps away and Mateo followed her, then she gritted her teeth under her smile)

Hira in Spanish: Mateo smile as we speaking so they won’t understand what we are saying

Mateo smiled: Si (YES), Hira

Hira in Spanish: I care for Sanjay very much so drop it, consider him one of the loaners, they hit you every month and you don’t get angry

Mateo said in Spanish: true but since when you care for this, Sanjay? You never told me about him

Hira rolled her eyes: for god’s sake, not you too

Sanjay whispered to Viola: what is she telling him?

Viola: she is telling him that you are crazy and he shouldn’t sue a crazy person

Pedro: that is not what Hira said

Mario’s eyes widened: Diabla (she devil)

Viola’s eyes widened: would you believe her brothers (then she smiled) or your sister?!!!

Sanjay: of course them, you are the reason for all of this (then he smiled) and also Hira is the kindest

Adarsh smiled: the twins are Hira’s brothers?! You look so familiar to me

Pedro: it’s the first time we come here

Mario: our father lived here, maybe you knew him, I look just like him

Pedro frowned: I am the one that looks like papa, you look nothing like him

Adarsh looked at the identical twins then he chuckled and nodded, Hira returned pulling Mateo who was pouting, she pinched him, he yelped then smiled

Mateo in Spanish: I decided to forgive, now I will go to find a bed, thank you for the beating

Hira: he said...

Adarsh in Spanish: thank you Hira (then he looked at Mateo) we would like if you stayed the entire time of your visit in our mansion, that is the least we can do

Hira’s eyes widened and Mateo smiled widely and Sanjay frowned confused

Sanjay: what?

Mateo in Spanish: only a stupid says no to a free bed and a meal

Hira in Spanish: be stupid and don’t embarrass me

Mateo in Spanish: you vanished and I sold my clothes to buy the ticket and sold your brothers’ clothes too for their tickets, we are going to stay with you in the big mansion or we will steal their clothes 

Adarsh in Spanish: everyone are my guests in the mansion, I will also pay for all your needs and also your returning tickets when you decide to return

Mateo smiled and said in Spanish: don’t worry about the returning ticket; I don’t think we will need it

Adarsh’s smile lessened and looked at Hira who covered her face as Viola whispered to Sanjay who his confusion disappeared and his eyes widened

Sanjay: NO

Hours Later

In The Mansion

The elevator opened at the second floor and Sanjay and Hira got out of it as the twins running across the floor, behind Insanju the puppy, who was running from them 

Hira shook her head: only my brothers will run behind the dog not the other way around (then she frowned) PEDRO, MARIO enough you are not 10 anymore...you are....

Pedro and Mario smiled and stood in front of her

Pedro: 15 years old, Hira  

Mario: and I am 15 and 3 minutes

Pedro frowned: you and your 3 minutes

Sanjay looked at Hira confused and said in low tone

Sanjay: you don’t know their age?!!

Pedro: she must forgot, Hira Left us three years ago and didn’t ask for us after

Mario frowned: her “uncle” told her to leave us and she can’t ask him why (then he raised his eyebrows) didn’t she tell you that she didn’t see us for 3 years

Hira frowned to Mario and made a shush gesture and when Sanjay turned to her, she smiled

Sanjay smiled: again No, Hira doesn’t tell me anything

Hira smiled nervously: I didn’t see your room yet, can I see it?

Sanjay: it’s not ready yet, you can see it later  

He opened his room, but for his shock the twins rushed in

Pedro: cool a hammock?

Sanjay: No

Hira frowned: PEDRO, MARIO

And she entered Sanjay’s room, and there were posters on the wall for female football players and models wearing swimsuits and sitting on motorcycles, Hira chuckled and looked at Sanjay, and his face turned red

Sanjay: for everyone’s information I was just 13 (then he looked at Hira) everything in this room was in my room in the old mansion, they just copied the room to cheer me up but I swear I didn’t spend in it two days then they moved me to the third floor, I totally forgot how the room looked like

Hira chuckled: I have to see everything in this room

Pedro jumped off the hammock, smiled widely and Hira looked around

Hira: where is your bed?

Sanjay swallowed: the hammock is my bed, now it’s enough, get out

Mario: oh a football, can we play? (He carried the football)

Sanjay smiled: sure, it’s yours

Pedro: WOW, Thank you Sanjay, you are the best

And the twins ran out the room and Sanjay looked at Hira who was looking at his shelves that was filled with action figures

Sanjay: Hira, please enough

Hira: I am not done embarrassing you yet, what is this covered wall?

Sanjay’s eyes widened and stood in front of the wall that covered with sheet and Hira’s eyes widened

Hira: oh my, it’s that embarrassing, I am tempted even more to see it

Sanjay: Hira please, let it go

Hira’s smile vanished: okay sorry, I am going I was just joking with you, I am not that curious, I was trying to light the mood between us (then she sighed) I don’t know why I was so defensive and rude with you in the airport, maybe because it doesn’t make since how much I care for you in this short amount of time

Sanjay walked towards her and held her arms and smiled

Sanjay smiled: really? You care for me? I mean something to you

Hira smiled: not just something, you are a great friend Sanju, my best I guess

Sanjay’s smile lessened: best friend, okay and Mateo?

Hira smiled: I should have told you about him but I didn’t think I will see him again and I thought it’s over (then she smiled widely) but he came to me, with my brothers and thank god you took the call, Mateo is like a child if I ignore his call, he thinks I broke up with him

Sanjay gritted on his teeth behind his faint smile...

Sanjay: I feel great that I took the call

Hira smiled and nodded, then she hugged him and he closed his eyes trying to fully enjoy her hold on him

Hira: we are okay, right?

Sanjay: yes, of course

Hira smiled widely: great, now you won’t be angry when I see the wall

And she broke the hug, ran to the wall and held the sheet and Sanjay’s eyes widened

Sanjay: HIRA NO

Hira pulled the sheet and her wide smile lessened seeing a photo of the size of the wall for a teenage girl blond and with green eyes, her smile vanished and her head felt numb as she turned

Hira: Nelly?

Sanjay in low tone: yes (then he shook his head) but I covered it because....

Hira smiled widely: they are right; she is incredibly beautiful, I am sure she is even more beautiful now

Sanjay:  I don’t care how she looks now

Hira nodded and just walked out, her smile vanished and she pressed her hand on her chest, then she entered her room and closed the door, only to gasp in shock, seeing on the floor her black Saree shredded to pieces, she held a piece of the light fabric and the nails mark was clear on it

Hira: Eve?!!

And she got out of the room shocked then ran to Eve’s room and knocked on the door, Eve opened the door with hair rollers in her hair

Eve: hi Hira? I will come in an hour to welcome your guest, my hair...

Then she looked at the Saree piece in Hira’s hand and her eyes widened

Eve: what happened to it?

Hira: I came to ask you about that, did you cut it?

Eve chuckled in disbelief: what?!! I didn’t like it on you but not to the limit that I cut it, wait have you left your room open?

Hira: yes, why?

Eve entered then returned with a red saree in pieces and shook her head

Eve: the same happened with me, Insanju the small puppy; apparently have a taste for Sarees

Hira covered her face: oh my god, I feel so stupid I am sorry

Eve: it’s okay don’t be sad, I have a gift for you anyway

And she entered the room then returned with a pack of pink silk Saree and gave it to her, Hira smiled shyly 

Eve: I didn’t wear it for even once, it will look beautiful on you in front of your boyfriend (and she winked)

Hira chuckled: thank you Eve, really thank you

And she walked away and entered her room, closed the door, then she sat on the bed and put the new saree over it and hit her chest

Hira: what is wrong with you Hira? Pull yourself together he is just Sanjay and Mateo is here

Then she covered her face, her phone rang and she looked at it and uncle was the caller, she swallowed then left the phone till it finished ringing, she sighed and leaned on her bed in relief but after couple of minutes it rang again this time Jagdev, Hira looked at the phone again then took the call

Hira: Hola Jagdev

Jagdev: why are you ignoring Uncle Calls Hira, he is very sad

Hira: I am sorry....but after his punishment to me I am... I am not okay

Jagdev: fine take your time, we have a new plan

Hira: I don’t want to be a part of any plans anymore; I don’t want to hurt anyone

Jagdev: you don’t want to take your parents right?!!!

Hira: I don’t feel my parents’ right is with Adarsh or his family, he is the kindest I don’t think...

Jagdev: YOU HAVE GONE MAD, YOU ARE WEAK

Hira angrily: don’t scream at me, I didn’t see Adarsh burning the factory, I am not even sure he knows my parents, uncle told me that, but I saw Adarsh kinder to me than uncle, he is kind to everyone, no way he ...

Jagdev: fine, I will bring for you a prove, meanwhile don’t wear your mother’s saree, you don’t deserve it

Hira’s eyes widened: what?

Jagdev: the black saree was your mothers’, your uncle wanted you to have a memory from her with you

And he ended the call and Hira looked shocked at the Saree in pieces, her shock soon turned to indescribable sadness and she couldn’t hold her tears then her sobs, that soon became so loudly that it was heard from outside the room

“Knock...Knock”

Mateo in Spanish: Hira, beautiful Hira, open the door

“Knock...Knock”

Sanjay: Hira open the door please, we are...

Hira opened the door and both Mateo and Sanjay were standing, she hugged Sanjay and cried, and he hugged her back

Hira: my mother’s Saree is in pieces, I am so sad and I feel so guilty, I didn’t keep her last memory safe

Mateo held Hira’s face while she still in Sanjay’s arms, Sanjay’s eyes widened and looked at Mateo shocked

Mateo in Spanish: beautiful Hira, I don’t know what’s making you sad but don’t be, it’s making me sad too

Hira nodded and Sanjay pulled her and made her sit on the bed and sat on his knees in front of her, Mateo looked at him and did the same

Sanjay: her memory is in your heart, not in the saree; your smile is what she left for you, keep it safe

Hira smiled: that is beautiful, thank you

Mateo in Spanish: whatever he said

Hira: thanks Mateo

(Then she wiped her tears and smiled)

Hira: I feel much better

Viola ran to the room and smiled widely, holding a box of cigarette

Viola in Spanish: look what I found in my stepmother’s room; come to meet Jude and try them

Mateo in Spanish: oh it’s party tonight

And he ran with Viola out and Hira’s eyes widened and screamed

Hira in Spanish: NO, MATEO YOU SAID YOU WILL QUIT SMOKING

Sanjay: Hira?

Hira smiled: yes

Sanjay: the twins were playing football in the garden, how about we join them, I am so tempted to

Hira smiled half a smile: I don’t know how to play

Sanjay smiled: come I will teach you

And he pulled Hira and she chuckled as they ran down the stairs to the Garden where Pedro was trying to take the ball from Mario, but Mario kicked the ball

Mario: Goal

Sanjay chuckled: YOU CALL THAT A KICK

Pedro and Mario looked at Sanjay then smiled widely as Sanjay looked at Hira who was smiling faintly

Sanjay: come; Let me show you how to be play football

And he took the ball and let it jump over his foot then kicked it up, and let it spin over his index finger, the twin smiled widely

The twins: wow, amazing

Sanjay looked at Hira’s reaction only to be shocked, she was looking at him as if she is seeing a ghost, then she turned and rushed away with her eyes wide and her hand shivering

Sanjay: Hira, are you okay?

Hira: I am fine, I don’t feel like playing and I want to be alone

She put her hand on her chest, as she remembering something she forgotten from long time

Flashback 11 years ago

Sanjay: YOU CALL THAT A KICK

10 years old Hira stopped playing with the football and looked through the gate of the factory at the 13 year old boy with the leather jacket and blue jeans matching his bright blue eyes and the blue car behind him

Hira: yes!!

Sanjay smiled half a smile and then climbed over the gate, and Hira’s eyes widened and carried her ball away as he jumped inside, she looked at the factory then at the boy who stood before her

Hira: you can’t do that, you have to take permission from my mother to enter; this is a private property she said

Sanjay rolled his eyes: relax, boring, my father is inside

Hira frowned: I am not boring; get out this is our new factory

Sanjay pushed the ball from between her hands and caught it

Hira frowned: give it back, MOM, MOM

Sanjay smiled: take it

And he dropped the ball, she tried to take it but it fell at his foot, he made it jump over his foot

Sanjay: come on take it, I will let you take it

Hira bent to take the ball but he kicked it up to his hand, laughed and let it spin over his finger, Hira’s eyes widened and tried to take it but he threw it to his other hand and made it spin on his finger

Hira frowned: give me my ball back, if I lost it papa won’t buy me another one

Sanjay chuckled: take it, why are you not taking it?

Hira tried to take it but he let it fall on his foot and kicked it so strong and so far it hit the glass window of the ground floor and broke it; Hira mouth opened in shock and looked at Sanjay who his eyes widened

Sanjay: my father will pay for that

Hira frowned: look what you did, I am telling mom and I am going to play inside and if you entered behind me I will make the police take you and put you in prison

Sanjay smiled half a smile: if you played inside you will break another window, come play here and I won’t take your ball again

Hira: Promise?

Sanjay chuckled: no

Hira frowned: LIAR

And she ran inside the factory and closed all the doors with locks and all the windows while looking at Sanjay who laughed out loud then climbed the gate out, but she could still see him looking at her Suddenly she heard horrible screaming from upstairs, her eyes widened and looked at the stairs and there was heavy smoke

Hira: Mom?

In a trice she saw the fire eating the wooden stairs’ railing, she screamed

Hira: MOM

And she ran to the door and tried to open it back but couldn’t open the lock she easily closed, she ran to the window and did the same and again couldn’t open the lock, and all she could do is cry and hit the window for someone to open for her, not noticing Sanjay who was.....

Flash back ended

Hira’s eyes crowded with tears and whispered: ... seeing me, he thought he killed me, I am Sanjay’s depression
