Happy birthday

The high heels flew inside Viola’s room through the window and hit the floor, then her small bag followed, then she entered behind them in her last night dress, thinking she succeeded to make everyone believe she slept in her room the rest of the night and didn’t sneak out after Jude drove them back home, but when she turned to look at her room, she gasped in surprise seeing Hira sitting on a chair in the corner

Viola: what are you doing here, Hira?

And she nervously took off her night dress and picked up a morning dress from her wardrobe and wore it

Hira: I woke up at dawn and felt I won’t find you in your room and I was right, you didn’t sleep in the mansion Last night

Viola: It’s not your business

Hira: Were you with Jagdev? I saw you with Jagdev, did he hurt you?

Viola smiled sarcastically: oh, Hira, you are worried about me, I had no idea you love me so much

Hira: please stay away from Him, Viola, Jagdev Is....

Viola: Is a bad man and trying to hurt me?

Hira: yes!!!

Viola smiled: he warned me you will say things like that to make me stay away from him, because I am such a horrible person that you need to protect him from

Hira’s eyes widened: NO he is lying, he is manipulating you

Viola: guess what Hira, he doesn’t care for all what you said about me, he likes me and I am very much interested in him (then she smiled ) we spent a magical night together and no matter how much you tried, you will not be able to make this end, unless we want it to end

Hira swallowed: what do you mean spent a magical night with him, you...you slept together?

Viola: no (then she smiled) I have to be sure he is the one first

(Hira smiled and took her breath, then she held Viola’s shoulder and nodded)

Hira: okay listen; you didn’t give me another choice but if you meet Jagdev again, I will show Mr. Adarsh the Video of you and Jude trying to beat Sanjay

Viola’s eyes widened: you wouldn’t; you said you will use that if I hurt Sanjay again and I didn’t!!

Hira: I warned you, if you meet Jagdev, you will pay for what you did to Sanjay

Viola frowned: Marie is right, you are a snake (then she smirked) Okay Hira, you want to play, let’s play

“Knock, Knock”

Viola: come in

Sanjay entered with wide smile, holding a big silver box with a big blue ribbon

Sanjay: Happy birthday, Viola (then his smile lessened) Hira? What are you doing out of the bed?!! You need some sleep, you were sick all night

Hira smiled: I am not even slightly sleepy, Sonia made for me a cup of black coffee that will make me awake all night, my problem now is a faint headache

Viola smiled widely: give me my gift already

Sanjay gave the box to her and she took it happily and ran to her bed to open the ribbon but stopped seeing Hira’s body tension and her cheeks blushes as Sanjay’s fingers brushed her hair

Hira in low tone: Sanju, what are you doing?

Sanjay: relax, I am the best in head massages, your headache will vanish like as if it never existed  

Hira took a deep breath then closed her eyes and Left herself to the sensation of his kind touch

Sanjay smiled: what happened to you, Viola; you were in such a hurry to open your gift

Hira opened her eyes and looked at Viola who was smirking looking at her then she held Sanjay’s hands from over her head and put it by his side

Hira smiled: thanks Sanju, it’s gone

Sanjay smiled widely and nodded then looked at Viola as she opening her gift box, she looked inside the box with wide smile then it Vanished and turned to widened eyes

Viola: what?!!!!

Then she looked at Sanjay and frowned and Sanjay laughed out loud

Sanjay: did I say happy?  

Hira smiled: what? What did you get her?

Viola took out from the box a hat that covered with a lot of plastic fruits and wore it, both Hira and Sanjay burst in to laughter

Viola: for the entire day, you monster?

Sanjay smirked: that is the tradition (then he looked at Hira) when I was 10, I dared her to wear an embarrassing hat all day and since that day we gift each other embarrassing hats and the birthday person has to wear it the entire day

Viola smiled: the reason is just to torture and shame each other  

Then she run towards Sanjay and hugged him; and both Sanjay and Hira were shocked by the action

Viola smiled: I hate you

Sanjay: I hate you too

Viola hugged him tighter, and he hugged her back and looked at Hira with wide surprised smile, then Viola broke the hug

Viola: Now both of you get out; I need to dress in something that good enough for my fabulous fruity hat

Sanjay chuckled and held Hira’s hand and was about to go with her but Viola said

Viola: Sanju, its Jude birthday too you know, he will love a happy birthday from you

Sanjay’s smile vanished then nodded faintly

Viola: Hira, can you help me choose the dress?

Hira looked at Viola’s smirk worried as Sanjay smiled, nodded and left Hira’s hand

Sanjay: my mother wants us all to have breakfast together, so I will see you there?

Hira nodded faintly, he got out and she closed the door, and looked at Viola with a frown

Hira: what?!!

Viola smirked: I just figured out something, you have a huge crush on Sanju

Hira swallowed: what?!!! (Then she smiled nervously) are you crazy, I have a boyfriend

Viola’s eyes widened: oh my god, it’s not just a crush, you like him

Hira breathed heavily and shook her head looking down and brushing her hair with her fingers

Viola: knowing the man you like, what do you think his reaction will be when he sees the same Video you are blackmailing me with on your phone and knows you stole Marie’s camera and blackmailing his sister and brother?

Hira’s eyes widened and looked at Viola shocked then she opened the door and rushed out hearing Viola’s loud laugh from behind her, she closed the door, and descended the stairs, went towards the breakfast table and everyone sitting, was laughing and exchanging plates, Marie looked at Hira and smiled faintly

Marie: Hira, come, I saved you a chair beside me

Sanjay smiled to Marie and Marie smiled to him as if just gifted her heaven, seeing that Hira took a deep breath then sat beside Marie with faint smile, and then Viola came and joined them as well

Marie: we were worried about you, you were very sick yesterday

Hira smiled: yes I am sorry, I drank alcohol for the first time and apparently I drank too much

Adarsh: have some ginger tea, Hira; you will feel better

Hira took the tea, took a sip then looked at Mateo who was eating a lot and quickly, and smiled saying in low tone

Hira in Spanish: Mateo, calm down, they serve food three times a day

Mateo in Spanish: I know, that is why I am not eating a lot

Adarsh frowned: Jude, Leave this Pamphlet, what are you looking at?

Jude smiled: a real estate company is selling Villas on an American beach; you can’t imagine the price, Papa

Adarsh frowned: no matter what it is, you don’t have it; so focus with me, you will work from home today, the owner of “double bubble gums” gave me a “quarter million dollar” cheque, the minute I cash it and put the money in our company’s safe, I will call you, you will make the call to the factory and make them Print “double bubble, Just chew it” on 50,000 yellow thick cardboard boxes and on 30,000 white light boxes then ship them to double bubble (then he smiled to everyone) it’s the biggest order in the history of our factory

Hira forced a smile on her lips looking at Adarsh, although she felt inside her as if her blood is boiling, is a business rivalry worth to kill a whole family for, is this worth it?!!

Jude: why would I work from home today, Papa?

Marie smiled widely: because today is your and Viola’s birthday; and you have to get ready for the party, it’s going to be huge and these are my gifts, SONIA BRING THE GIFTS

Sonia came with two bags and a small box, gave the two bags to Viola and the box for Jude, they opened their gifts and Viola smiled widely

Viola: new phone and new laptop (then she smiled) thanks Marie

Jude frowned: another watch, great thanks, Marie

Marie: Hira, I know it’s not your birthday but seeing this dress, I couldn’t help myself imagining it on you

(Sonia picked up a hanger, Hira stood and looked at the leather gold dress amused, and then she smiled to Marie)

Hira: thanks, I don’t know what to say

Marie smiled: say nothing dear (then she looked at Sonia) put it in her room, Sonia

Sonia whispered in Marie’s ear: why are you so nice to Hira, should I be worried?

Marie whispered: yes

Mario: Hira, can you call our mom, please? She is very worried on us and wants to make sure we are okay

Hira: yes sure, it’s the same number, right?

And she stood but Sanjay held her hand and looked at her with faint frown

Sanjay: Hira, sit down and eat first, you didn’t eat anything

Eve frowned: Sanjay is right, I am sure she can wait

Pedro: actually she can’t, mom called me and was hell worried; hearing Hira’s voice will make her feel better

Hira: beside I can’t wait to call nanny too

And she walked away, Sanjay frowned faintly then continued eating, as Adarsh chuckled and held on Marie’s hand

Adarsh: okay you are right; I can’t wait till the night to give Viola her present

Viola smiled: what? What is my present?

Adarsh: It’s parked in the Garage (and he presented to her car keys)

Viola chuckled happily: no way, NO WAY

Jude smiled: what about my gift?

Adarsh looked at him and his smile lessened, then shook his head

Adarsh: it’s not ready yet, Jude

Jude frowned faintly: because there is no gift

And he walked away, Adarsh sighed then frowned

Adarsh: I have to go make some calls before going to the bank, excuse me 

And he walked away, and everyone else got off the breakfast as well, Sanjay walked towards Hira who was talking in the phone but before he reach her with couple of steps, Jude held his hand and Sanjay looked at him nervously

Sanjay: Jude, Happy birthday

Jude: did you thought about what I asked you for?

Sanjay: what?!!

Jude: returning back to Nelly, and giving me a chance with my daughter, Mia

Sanjay looked at Hira who was looking at him and the phone is no longer on her ear

Sanjay: I can’t, I am sorry

Jude frowned: what do you mean you can’t?

Sanjay: I don’t want to see, Nelly (then he looked at Hira then back at Jude) you have to find another way, I am sorry

Jude frowned: I am your brother and you will take my last chance to have my family back

Sanjay sighed: I did not take your chance; you did when you hit her

Jude frowned: I DIDN’T KNOW THAT SHE IS PREGNANT

Sanjay: AND DOES IT MATTER, YOU HIT A WOMAN, YOUR WOMAN, FOR ONCE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS

Jude: I WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR CHOOSING THIS b***h (and he looked at Hira) OVER YOUR OWN BROTHER

Sanjay angrily tried to hit Jude but Hira held Sanjay’s arm

Hira: Sanjay, calm down, it’s okay, I am okay

Sanjay breathed heavily, as Jude walked out angrily and Hira looked at Sanjay who frowned to her then ascended the stairs

Hira: Sanjay?

Then she frowned looking at the door of the mansion and walked out angrily, and stood beside Jude who sitting on one of the stairs of the Gate

Hira: I don’t know what is wrong with you or why you are doing this with Sanjay (then she frowned) but if you think of hurting Sanjay, the Video will go to Mr. Adarsh

And she was about to walk away but...

Jude: I don’t know why I do this with Sanjay

Hira stopped and looked at Jude and for her surprise his eyes was crowded with tears

Jude: Sanjay never hurt me, I love him so much, he is my little buddy, I taught him everything I know (then he frowned as tears flow on his cheeks) but I am so angry at him, for 11 years my whole life is about him, I got married to Helen who I can’t stand because he is sick and can’t marry Nelly, and the family must unite by marriage; I worked for my father like a slave for a job that I hate but Sanjay is everything in his mind and every time Sanjay tried to kill himself, Papa reminded me of that, either by hitting and humiliate me for not taking care of him or by calling Sanjay his only son, he used to love me and even take me fishing but since Sanjay became sick, he can’t even stand to look to my face, he even brought to Viola a car but nothing for me (then he looked at Hira with teary eyes) Marie was the only mother I knew, she was so kind to us but after Sanjay got sick, she treated us like criminals, even the word ma we are forbidden to say it again

Hira’s eyes crowded with tears and put her hand on Jude’s shoulder

Jude: I know it’s not Sanjay’s fault, I know he was sick and it was not fair to hurt him (then he said in lower tone) but now even when he is fine and getting back to his life, I can’t help but think about the life I lost because of him and can’t get back

Hira: you know what is your problem, Jude, your problem is that you are looking at what Sanjay have and what Viola and Eve have and then looking at your life and feelings sorry for yourself when one like me can look at your life and envy you (then she nodded) you have a brother and two sisters and a house and a job and a daughter that you are looking forward to hug

Jude looked at her as Hira smiled to him and nodded

Hira: I think what you have to do is look at your own life not on anyone’s, and don’t wait for anyone to give you happiness, get what you need for happiness yourself and stop looking back

Jude smiled: you are right, Hira; thank you  

At night

“Knock...Knock”

Sanjay: come in, the door is open

Hira entered Sanjay’s room, then she looked around but didn’t see him there

Hira: Sanju?

Sanjay: I am in the bathroom

Hira: okay, I came to see if you are ready for the Party, but apparently you are not, so I will come later

And she was about to go but the wall with the sheet stopped her for a moment, if Sanjay hid Nelly’s picture because he doesn’t want to see it, then why he did not just scrap it off the wall?!!

Sanjay: Hira? Are you still here?

Hira: yes, sorry, I am going

Sanjay: before you go, can you help me please?

Hira raised both her eye brows and looked at the closed door of the bathroom

Hira: help you? Yes sure, do you want me to come in?

Sanjay: yes, sorry

Hira: it’s okay, I am your a nurse

Then she took a deep breath and walked towards the bathroom, held the door knob and opened the door, and Sanjay looked at her with shy smile, he was shirtless which would have made her blush and knees weak if only his chin wasn’t covered with shaving cream and drops of blood

Hira: oh my god, your face!

Sanjay: turned out shaving is harder than it looks

Hira rushed towards him and took the razor from his hand and opened the water tap, washed his face from the cream gently

Hira smiled: first time shaving for yourself?

Sanjay: yes, nurses used to help me in that and before them when I was 13, I was proud with my 4 mustache’s hairs

Hira chuckled: okay don’t make me laugh when I am holding the razor and watch what I will do and Learn

Then she put shaving cream on the shaving brush and applied it on his face, then gently slid the razor on his face

Hira: shave gently you don’t need to apply pressure, walk with your jawline, in the different direction of growth of your 4 mustache’s hairs like that

Sanjay: you look so beautiful, but again like always

Hira frowned: this time I will be brave to tell you, you are lying; I look ridiculous, the dress is two sizes over my size, leather should be tight but it looks as if I am wearing skin over my skin, and your mother saw me and gave me a glass of sugary mango juice, told me to drink it because I look pale, I drank it, an hour Later she looked at me again and said” oh maybe you just need more makeup to hide your ghost like face”

Sanjay: I wasn’t lying, and if you can’t see this beauty I see, then you are the one who is lying

Hira held her breath then wash the razor and put it back in its place then Rinse his face gently and patted with a towel on his face

Hira: okay the next step is going to sting a little

And she put some aftershave on her hands and put it over his cheeks, Sanjay innocently tightly shut his eyes, and Hira caressed his cheeks and neck with scented gel then she held her breath, closed her eyes and touched his soft cheek with her lips

Sanjay’s eyes widened and his body tension from the shock till she removed her lips from over his cheek, she opened her eyes, and seeing his shocked eyes, she noticed what she just did

Hira’s eyes widened: I am sorry, I am so sorry

She rushed away and Sanjay felt bad for embarrassing her, he wanted to call her but when she hit Marie’s shoulder as she running to her room, he got worried to grab his mother attention to their awkwardness so he took his shirt and ran down the stairs while buttoning it

Marie frowned: watch it, the suits are ironed

Hira: sorry, Mrs. Singh Khatri

Marie: anyway, good that I found you, give these suits to Pedro and Mario, we don’t want them to embarrass us in the party (then she looked at Hira from head to toes) I thought I bought this dress for a girl not a stick, my mistake!!

And she walked away, Hira frowned faintly then walked towards the elevator that Eve was about to get in

Hira: Eve, can I share the elevator with you, I...

But then Hira heard her phone ringing in her room, she looked at her room and Eve took the suits from her hands

Eve: it’s okay, go answer your phone, where you want to put the suits?

Hira: give them to Pedro and Mario, their room is my old room in the third floor, thanks

Eve smiled and took from her the suits as Hira rushed to her room, and looked for her phone and seeing that Jagdev is the caller, she answered the phone

Hira: stay away from Viola, Jagdev

Jagdev: why getting cold feet, we are doing great, I am almost there with Viola and you are almost there with Jude, well done

Hira frowned: I didn’t do anything and won’t (then she frowned) I am warning you Jagdev, if you didn’t leave Viola, I swear to god....

Suddenly the phone was grabbed from her hand, Hira turned in shock to see that she left the room door open and it’s Viola who took the phone, and giving her a hate glare

Viola: Jagdev, I will see you in the party, baby

And she ended the call and looked at Hira, Hira swallowed and tried to take her phone but Viola raised her hand

Viola: don’t, I will need to make Sanjay see the Video so he won’t believe any of your lies (then she frowned) it’s time that Sanjay see your true face, Hira

Hira terrified: Viola, please, I am doing this for you I swear, Jagdev is a horrible person, he...

Viola angrily walked towards Sanjay’s room and Hira rushed behind her feeling her heart beats getting faster with every step

Meanwhile

Eve got out of the elevator and went to her room with the two suits, opened the door and threw the suits inside on her bed then closed the door and ascended the stairs to the third floor, walked towards the twins' room and knocked...

Pedro: come in

Eve entered and both Pedro and Mario were wearing their shoes, Mario smiled

Mario: we are almost ready, Eve

Eve sadly: I am sorry guys but you can’t attend the party in these clothes, you should wear suits

Pedro’s smile vanished: but we don’t have suits

Eve looked down: then you can’t come to the party, otherwise Viola and her mean friends will make fun of you or prank you a harsh prank and we don’t want your mother to be more worried for you, do we?

Pedro and Mario looked at each other sadly and Eve took the key of their room

Eve: I will lock the door, so you won’t feel tempted to come down, okay?

And she closed the door, then locked the door with the key and walked away; and descended the stairs, and Viola rushed towards her, behind her Hira

Viola: Eve, have you seen Sanjay, he is not his room

Eve: no, maybe he is in the party, the guests arrived

Viola nodded and descended the stairs, Hira rushed behind her and tears formed in her eyes

Hira: Viola, at least wait till the party ends, Sanjay is happy, don’t ruin the party for him

Viola frowned: don’t beg anymore Hira, you are just embarrassing yourself, oh here is Sanjay

Hira was shocked to see Jagdev is in the party standing with Sanjay!!! Both are laughing with each other and drinking beer

Viola: Sanjay? (Then she smiled) Jagdev thank you for coming

Jagdev smiled: Happy birthday, Viola, Sanjay was just telling me about your hat, I have to see it

Sanjay: is everything okay, Hira?

Viola: you will know (then she looked Jagdev) I will take Sanju for a minute

Jagdev: sure (then he smiled) I and Hira will catch up 

And He gave Hira a glass of Lemon Juice, Hira took the glass with shivering hands as Viola took Sanjay in a distance, Hira took a sip from it while her chest raising nervously

Jagdev in low tone: calm down, don’t feel sorry for Viola and Jude, they will ruin themselves; we just will make it easier for them  

Hira ignored him and left the glass then went to Sanjay, he looked at her and seeing her terrified he looked nervously at Viola

Sanjay: what is going on, Viola?

Viola: you want to know the real Hira, and I will show you (then she looked through Hira’s phone) but before that what will you say if I told you that your Hira was blackmailing me with a mistake I made so she can control me like a marionette

Sanjay frowned: I will say this is the stupidest lie you ever said, how you thought I will believe that someone as decent and kind as Hira would do something like

Viola smirked and looked at Hira and Hira was looking at Sanjay with widened teary eyes and her hand on her chest, Viola looked at her for a moment

Viola: it was worth the try, you are right this is the stupidest Lie and the stupidest Prank, I guess I have to think of something else to make you pay for telling Jagdev about that hat (then she looked at Hira) Okay stop the act Hira, he won’t believe us no matter what

Hira took a breath in relief and Sanjay rolled his eyes, then walked back to Jagdev and Hira looked at Viola confused

Hira: why you didn’t tell him?

Viola smiled: because I was wrong, you don’t like Sanjay, you love him and I can’t break your heart

Hira’s eyes widened and put her hand on her chest and Viola took a glass of whisky from a passing tray and gave it to Hira and gave her the mobile

Viola: drink couple of sips, it will help you with hangover and the realization; I will go stand with Mateo and take his attention of your face, oh by the way I deleted the Video

Hira looked at Mateo and he was looking at her a worried look, as if he saw what Viola saw too she took the glass and took couple of sips and closed her eyes as she took them, is Viola right?

Hira emptied the glass opened  her eyes and it fell on Adarsh running towards his office with phone pressing on his ear, his face looked terrified, she followed him without thinking and entered behind him the office, Sanjay looked at her confused seeing her action

Sanjay: Hira?

Marie smiled: Sanjay?

Sanjay turned and his eyes widened in shock seeing a beautiful tall blonde girl with green eyes and a familiar smile and surprisingly the same gold leather dress Hira is wearing, holding his mother’s hand

Sanjay: Nelly

Meanwhile

Adarsh: I swear to god, I will find the cheque, don’t worry

Hira: Mr. Adarsh, are you okay?

Adarsh flinched and looked at Hira terrified then left the phone, took out his drawer and emptied it, on the desk

Adarsh: get out Hira, please, you can’t help, get out

Hira went out for a moment, then a terrifying thought came on her mind, she ran upstairs and without thinking twice opened Jude’s room and Jude flinched as he packing his clothes in a suitcase

Hira: Jude? Did you steal the cheque?

Jude: it’s my right Hira, and thanks to your advice I understood that, I will build my life and won’t need anyone

Hira’s eyes widened and shook her head: don’t do that, I didn’t mean it; you will ruin your family’s life

Jude: you said it; I shouldn’t look at any life but my own

Hira looked at him shocked as He entered the bathroom to grab something in it and Hira looked at the open suitcase then with so much fear, took the passport and ran to her room, hid it under bed mattress then descended the stairs running

Hira: SANJAY?

But stopped in the middle of the stairs when Sanjay looked at her with widened eyes as in his hug a blonde girl

Sanjay: Hira?

Nelly broke the hug and Looked where Sanjay is looking, and saw Hira looking at them numbly and her hand on her chest, then for everyone’s shock a trickle of blood came out of Hira’s mouth, and she closed her eyes and fell down the stairs
