Someone call the ambulance

Sanjay: SOMEONE CALL THE AMBULANCE 

The music stopped and the Laughter turned to gasps of shock and murmurs, Sanjay ran towards Hira and fell on his knees in front of her  

Sanjay: Hira, Hira please wake up, Hira

Marie took her phone out of her bag instantly and dialed the ambulance’s number and Nelly was about to run towards Sanjay but Marie held her hand, she looked at Marie surprised and Marie skipped her eyes

Viola: oh god, what happened?

And she ran towards Hira and Sanjay, held Hira’s hand then touched her forehead  

Viola: oh god, she is having a fever, feel her

Sanjay was about to touch Hira but Jagdev just pushed his hand away, gave him an angry glare then sat beside Hira

Jagdev: what have you done to her, Singh Khatri?

Sanjay: Nothing, she fell down the stairs, we didn’t do anything to her

But then he remembered Hira’s eyes when she saw him hugging Nelly, the guilt stabbed his chest like a sharp blade, he looked at Marie and saw the guilt in her eyes too

Marie swallowed: the ambulance is in the way

Sanjay held Hira’s legs and Jagdev held his hand angrily

Jagdev: don’t touch her

Viola: Jagdev relax, Sanjay is the smartest, he must know what he is doing

Jagdev frowned and left Sanjay’s hand and Sanjay raised Hira’s legs over the couch, then whispered as his eyes got crowded with tears

Sanjay: you will be okay, Hira

And he closed his eyes and pressed his lips on her cheek, Jagdev frowned

Viola: her fingers are moving, it worked

Sanjay raised his head and looked at her, her eyes were faintly open, but suddenly it opened wide and she squealed in agony, pressing her hand on her stomach

Sanjay: Hira?

Hira screamed as loud as her voice can get, her mind was getting back unconscious to protect her from the pain, but she was conscious enough to see Jude slipping through the crowd and getting out of the mansion with his suitcase without anyone but her noticing, she opened her mouth and tried to say something but instead she threw up black vomit

Nelly: eww, what is that?

Sanjay swallowed: blood

Marie: THE AMBULANCE CAME (then she signaled to paramedics) OVER HERE

The crowded guests cleared the way for the paramedic’s procedures and a tear dropped from Sanjay’s eyes seeing Hira squirming in pain like a wounded doe , he wished if he can do anything, even taking her pain but how can he?

Sanjay: Hira, I am with you, don’t be scared, you will be okay

She was given a shot then they took her on a gurney and everyone ran behind it till it was in the ambulance car

The paramedic: only one can ride with her

Sanjay: I will...

Jagdev: I am her brother, I will come with her

And he rode the ambulance with Hira; Hira stretched her hand to Sanjay as the ambulance’s door closed and it drove away

Nelly: okay Sanjay; there is nothing more you can do for her, Let’s enjoy the party

Sanjay frowned: where is your car Keys, Viola?

Viola opened her bag and gave him the key, he rushed towards the garage and Nelly, Viola and Eve followed

Marie: CALL ME WITH THE NEWS

Then she entered inside the mansion and said to the guests who were standing looking at the door

Marie: I am sorry, but we have to cancel the party, excuse us

The Guests murmured and left, as Marie rushed to the office room, and opened door like a storm

Marie: Adarsh, a crisis has happened...

Then her eyes widened in shock seeing Adarsh’s face covered with tears

Adarsh: yes; I ruined my career and my family’s future

Marie: why? what is wrong?

Adarsh: I lost “a quarter million dollar” cheque, I don’t have this money, I don’t know what to do

Marie covered her lips, took a moment then walked towards Adarsh and put her hand on his chest

Marie: okay calm down, you need to calm down so you can be able to think, listen, no matter what happens ,we are in this together and will get out of it together, I won’t leave your side

Adarsh smiled and touched her cheek and she closed her eyes and kissed his hand

Marie: okay, where did you last put it ?

Adarsh: I don’t know, I remember I put it in the safe (signaling on the steel safe) and I locked it, but the cheque is not there and you know, no one has an access to the safe but me

Marie frowned: and Jude

Adarsh: no, Jude will never do that to us (then his eyes widened) right?

Marie frowned: we will find out

And she got out of the office and ran upstairs till the second floor

Marie: JUDE, JUDE

And she opened the room door like a storm but found the wardrobe open and empty, she stood in front of it frozen for a moment, but then she heard noise coming from the third floor, she ran upstairs only to find the security man is breaking the twins’ room door and Sonia standing beside him

Marie frowned: Salman, Sonia, what are you doing?

Sonia: I heard the twins calling and screaming, then I found them locked in the room, and they say the key is with Eve, she locked them there

Marie frowned confused: Eve?!!  (then she shook her head) never mind have you seen Jude?

Salman broke the door and the twins ran out..

Pedro: Where is Hira? what happened to Hira?

Mario: we heard her screaming, something happened to Hira, right?

The elevator opened and Mateo got out of it and rushed towards his room with a frown, all looked at him, so he walked towards them

Mateo in Spanish: I am Leaving, I can’t stay in the house of the man who stole my Hira’s heart, just tell her I will talk to her when she return back home, I don’t want to see her before that

Pedro in Spanish: something happened to Hira, you stupid

Sonia: something happened to Hira?!! (then she looked at Marie) what happened to Hira?

the next morning  

In the hospital

Sanjay skipped Jagdev’s eyes that was looking at them with anger and looked at Viola who was crying silently and patted on her shoulder

Jagdev frowned: are you that sad on Hira, Viola?

Sanjay frowned: yes!! Why is that so unbelievable for you, we are very worried for Hira like you and maybe even more, I don’t understand you, since she became sick you are nothing but aggressive with us, why?

Jagdev: something happened to her in your mansion, Something that took her to surgery and made the doctor call the police for investigation

Sanjay: what do you mean?!! You mean we hurt Hira?

Viola wiped her tears: Jagdev baby, I know I told you we hate Hira but it wasn’t to the limit that we hurt her

Sanjay frowned: we don’t hate Hira, Viola

Viola: I too don’t hate her at all now, Let’s just say I knew about her what made me see her a human, I am really sad for her, she was in so much pain when she got conscious , her screams will haunt me for ever

Jagdev: I am sorry, maybe the lack of sleep who was talking

Viola: it’s okay, relax baby

Eve frowned: baby?!!

Nelly walked towards Sanjay and sat beside him giving him a cup

Sanjay: thanks

He took a sip then spit it back and looked at her with widened eyes

Sanjay: this is beer! it’s 8 am

Nelly smiled widely: yes, you don’t know how it was hard to sneak it in

Sanjay chuckled: those 11 years didn’t change you at all

Nelly smiled widely: yes Sanjay, I am still the girl you carved “ I love you” for her on your mansion’s tree

Sanjay smiled sadly: but I am not the same boy, Nelly; I changed; perhaps if you saw me a week ago you would have understood better

Nelly’s smile vanished: what do you mean? (then she held Sanjay’s hand) I waited for you 11 years since you went abroad, you didn’t write for me or come to visit me even for once and I waited, I refused to let anyone in my life because I am yours and when you are finally back to me, you are saying you don’t love me anymore?

Sanjay swallowed and looked down then he smiled faintly and said in low tone

Sanjay: don’t be sad, maybe I need time, I been through a lot (then he smiled) and I did feel happy seeing you, and I have to say you look beautiful but again like always

Nelly smiled: what do you think? (and she touched her waist) your mother sent me the dress

Sanjay nodded: of course she did

Nelly nodded and took a sip of her beer and Sanjay just held the cup and didn’t take a sip, she noticed that

Nelly: so, these changes, is it because of Hira?

Sanjay smiled: Hira? Yes I guess it is

Nelly frowned: is she your girlfriend ?

Sanjay smiled: no, but we have a unique bond that I can’t understand, more than friendship and different than anything I ever felt, you can say we care for each other and need each other (then he smiled) but for me it’s more than that, I know that my purpose in life is to be there for her, do you understand what I am saying?

Nelly: no (then she smiled) but all I need to know is that you don’t love her

Sanjay smiled: I don’t even know her, I just feel her but (then he sighed ) that is not enough for me to understand her

The doctor got out from the recovery room and Sanjay and Jagdev ran toward him followed by Viola then Eve

Sanjay: how is she?

The doctor: she is awake and fine, we already took her to her room but the police officer need to speak with Mr. Jagdev Patel

Jagdev: me? yes sure, where?

the doctor: in my office, this door

And he signaled on a near door, Jagdev entered closing the door behind

Sanjay: doctor, please can I see her?

The doctor: not yet, the police officer will speak with her first

Sanjay frowned: doctor, can you tell me what the surgery was for and why is police involved?

The doctor: Ms. Hira suffered from stomach ulcer that caused her internal bleeding and It needed an operative procedure; she also has a severe throat ulcer that will need medical care

Viola: and why are the police?

The doctor: because we suspected those ulcers were because of toxicity, we took a blood sample and tested it and it came positive, Ms. Hira ingested a lethal amount of rat poison

Minutes Later

Marie’s eyes widened: rat poison?

And she took the phone from her ear and looked at Sonia who covered her lips

Marie: okay, Viola call me when you find something

And she ended the call and looked at Sonia with widened eyes

Sonia: poisoned? Someone poisoned her?

Marie: see? I told you that girl has something suspicious behind her, someone poisoned her!!!! what kind of person that causes someone to try to kill him?!! no something is seriously wrong with that Hira, and who tried to kill her tried to kill her in our home? To cause for us a trouble?

Sonia’s eyes widened: you are unbelievable, instead of saying this, you should feel bad for the poor girl

Marie frowned: I feel bad for us, since she came, it’s crises after another, she came to ruin our family

Sonia frowned: Hira came to ruin your family?!! This family is ruined since Sanjay’s sickness (then she said sarcastically) was she there 11 years ago too? have mercy on the girl Marie, she has enough pain to deal with, she doesn’t need your cruelty too 

Marie sighed: you are right, I couldn’t sleep all night from my guilt towards her

Sonia’s eyes widened and Marie looked at her then her eyes widened too

Marie: NO, I have nothing to with the poison, I would never try to kill anyone, I am not a murderer, I just want the best for my son, so I brought Nelly and gifted her the same dress so Sanjay compare between their beauty and know what real girls look like

Sonia: oh god, I can’t believe you

Marie: I said I feel guilty, anyway I will go to the church and pray for the poor girl

And she got off the couch and wore her shawl over her shoulders and attempted to wear her shoes

Sonia: what should I tell the twins when they wake up?

Marie: call Joseph to send sultan to drive them to the hospital to see Hira (then she sighed) I don’t know why Adarsh don’t want to hire a permanent driver?

And she went to the door and opened it, only to find in front of it the most beautiful woman she ever seen, probably in her 40th but can go for 30, tall with hourglass shaped body, olive smooth skin and shiny wavy silky long brown hair, the biggest brown eyes and the longest eyelashes and she was wearing short pink and white floral dress and high heels like pins, she smiled to Marie the most beautiful smile

The woman: Hola, I am Eliana Kumar,  Pedro and Mario’s mother and Hira’s nanny, I came to see Hira, is she here or still in the hospital ?

Marie didn’t answer and Eliana looked at her confused, Sonia came and seeing her, her eyes widened and Eliana's eyes widened too

Sonia: Mrs. Eliana?

Eliana smiled widely: SONIA

And she entered and hugged Sonia and Sonia looked with widened eyes at Marie who was frowning in confusion

Sonia in Spanish: Mrs. Eliana what are you doing here?

Eliana in Spanish: I am mother of Pedro and Mario, and Hira’s nanny but what are you doing here? Have you left Adarsh’s service ?!!

Sonia broke the hug and looked at Eliana with widened surprised eyes

Sonia in Spanish: no this is Mr. Adarsh’s new mansion, oh my god, you mean to tell me that the twins are Eve, Viola and Jude’s brothers

Eliana swallowed the shock and nodded faintly then she looked around

Eliana in Spanish: yes, oh my god (then she sat at the nearest chair) I can’t believe I finally will see Jude, Eve and Viola

Marie frowned: can you speak in a language that I can understand

Eliana: yes sure, sorry; who are you?

Sonia swallowed: that is Marie Singh Khatri, Mr. Adarsh’s wife

Eliana smiled widely: really? I am so happy that Adarsh found love and she is so beautiful, I am ...

Sonia in Spanish: don’t tell her, if she knew you are Adarsh’s ex-wife she will eat you alive, just smile and nod

Eliana swallowed then she looked at Marie, smiled and nodded; Sonia did the same and Marie raised an eyebrow

Adarsh: Marie, I will take these files to the factory, then we will go to visit Hira, be ready

He said the words without looking while walking towards the door, Eliana stood with wide smile looking at him

Eliana: Hola Adarsh

Adarsh’s eyes widened and the files fell from his hand and turned to look at Eliana with widened eyes

Adarsh: Eliana?

Eliana smiled widely: yes, you recognized me after all this years

And she ran towards him and hugged him, Marie mouth dropped and Adarsh frowned

Adarsh: you look just the same

Eliana broke the hug and smiled widely

Eliana: can’t say the same about you, you became an old man but a handsome old man

Adarsh frowned: what are you doing here Eliana?

Pedro and Mario ran down the stairs and Eliana spread her arms for them, they hugged her and she kissed them all over their faces

Pedro: we missed you, mama

Adarsh’s eyes widened: your children? (Then he frowned) his children?

Eliana’s smile vanished: yes, and I am Hira’s nanny too

Marie: what is going on, Adarsh; who is this woman?

Adarsh frowned: my wife  

Marie’s eyes widened: I am your wife!!

Adarsh looked at her: I meant my ex-wife, Mother of my three children, and those are her sons from my driver

Mario and Pedro looked at Eliana and Eliana bit her lower lip, as Marie looked at them with widened eyes then looked at Sonia

Sonia: don’t look at me, I didn’t know that

Meanwhile 

The Police officer: Mr. Jagdev Patel, I need from you to clear for me something, Is the Victim Hira Patel or Hira Garcia? And are you her brother?

Jagdev: yes, I am her brother from our mother side, Patel is my last name, her last name is Garcia but we are calling her Patel because her father and my mother tragically died and the name Garcia make people remind her of this day, it causes her great pain

The police officer: I understand, sorry for your loss

Jagdev: thank you

The police officer: your sister blood test shows a lethal amount of rat poison, who do you think tried to kill your sister?

Jagdev: no one...maybe she... attempted to commit suicide, I don’t know

The police officer: I will have to talk with your sister and tell her what you said in your statement, if she confessed of attempting to commit suicide I will do my best to provide help for her

Jagdev swallowed and nodded faintly as the investigation officer and the officer writing the statement both walked out and to Hira’s room, and knocked faintly, Jagdev followed them

Hira: come in

The police officers entered but stopped when Jagdev tried to enter, one of them turned to Jagdev

The police officer 1: we have to take her statement privately

And he closed the door, Jagdev stood by the door, trying as much to hear what is she saying to the officer but heard nothing from the closed door, and after half an hour the officers got out and he got in after them, he looked at Hira and she was looking at him with a faint frown

Jagdev: get well soon

Hira: you told them I attempted to commit suicide?!! Are you insane?

Jagdev frowned: I didn’t know what to say, I didn’t plan for this to happen

Hira frowned: didn’t you?

Jagdev frowned: what do you mean?

Hira shook her head: never mind, I told the officer that I must took the rat poison by mistake, he believed me, I don’t want to incriminate the Singh Khatri

Jagdev: good that you said that, and don’t worry we will take your right too, now you have to leave the Singh Khatri’s Mansion, it’s not safe for you,  I will rent for you an apartment

Hira frowned: no, I won’t leave the Singh Khatri’s, first of all because I don’t trust you, and second of all because I have to be there to prevent you from hurting them

Jagdev frowned: we are not hurting them, we are taking our revenge from the guilty in them, Viola is a manipulative girl, I see her in my nightclub every night, with a different man, the poor men get promised with everything till they finish their money on her and her friends, then she threw them and search for the next, as for Jude, I don’t need to tell you what Jude is and what he did to his wife and his sick little brother

Hira swallowed and Jagdev frowned and continued

Jagdev: you did nothing to Jude but encouraging him to be a man, but he by himself decided to ruin his family’s future and steal the cheque and didn’t look back; are those the kind of people you want to protect

Hira’s eyes widened: how did you know about the cheque?

Jagdev: I gave him that cheque, I know one of the owners of a gum factory and I convinced him to work with AAA factory for cardboard, meanwhile I asked a real-estate agency to sell my Villas in America and sent the pamphlet to Jude, the Villa’s price is “quarter million dollar “like the cheque, I knew a coward like Jude if he held the cheque in one hand and the pamphlet in the other, he won’t be able to resist and as Viola told me, your words to him encouraged him to get his own path and he chose this one, so did we hurt him or...?

Hira frowned: yes and I can let you do the same to Viola

Jagdev frowned: I don’t understand you, you are standing for the people who poisoned you

Hira frowned: you poisoned me

Jagdev’s eyes widened: what?!!

Hira frowned: if it’s not you then it’s that someone who is trying to kill Sanjay and you are who control him that is why you don’t want to tell me who he is, even though you left uncle.

Jagdev frowned: didn’t it come to your mind that I don’t know him either, I didn’t even see uncle before, I am just like you beside why on earth I would want to kill you?

Hira: You wanted me to be part of the plan, I threatened you to tell everything, so you put the poison in my juice to kill me and if it didn’t work then you will convince me to think that the Singh Khatri did it and take me to an apartment, were you can kill me

Jagdev’s eyes widened: are you insane, you think I will kill you?!!

Hira: why not? I am not your cousin or your half-sister like you told the police, we are just two criminals entering a family to destroy it, so it was only a matter of time for one of us to turn on the other

Jagdev shook his head with a look of disgust: I am done with you, you for sure deserve to be between them, and from now on everyone will work on his own and if you came in my way to destroy Viola, I will destroy Sanjay instead

Hira frowned with a challenging look and Jagdev gave her the same look then walked out passing by Sanjay who entered the minute he walked out, smiled to Hira and sat beside her on the edge of the bed

Sanjay: are you okay?

Hira smiled: you still here? You didn’t leave me from yesterday

Sanjay: how can I leave you Hira?!!no I sent them home but I am staying till they kick me out (then he touched her hair) Hira, do you have any idea who did this to you?

Hira shook her head: but I am sure it wasn’t intentional

Sanjay: I don’t want to scare you but we even don’t have rat poison in the mansion, my father is against killing any living creature, even if a rat entered the mansion, it will be send to the wild so how you got poisoned if it’s not intentional

Hira frowned faintly thinking of the idea of Adarsh refusing to kill any living creature except of her family!!!

Sanjay: I know that yesterday you ate nothing but Sonia made for you coffee, Adarsh gave you ginger tea, my mother gave you juice, Viola gave you whisky and Jagdev gave you another juice , does the police knows that?!!!

Hira: Sanjay, what are you saying?!!! I told the police that I took it, I won’t accuse you family

Sanjay’s eyes widened: how could you lie to the police? How he will find who tried to hurt you if you are lying, you took nothing by mistake and you are definitely not suicidal, someone is trying to hurt you how can you ignore that?

Hira smiled: you know, you should go to the police academy or law school, you are so good in making criminal theories

Sanjay frowned: fine Hira, make fun of me as you want but I won’t leave this till I understand everything

Hira: no you will leave this and go have some sleep

Sanjay: no I will go get myself a cup of coffee then we will continue our talk

And he turned to go but Hira cleared her throat and he turned to her

Hira: Sanjay, I ...I think maybe I was imagining but I felt you kissed my cheek

Sanjay frowned: kissed your cheek?!!

Hira swallowed: okay maybe I was imagining, sorry

Sanjay: it’s okay

Then he went towards her and kissed her cheek, Hira chuckled as he winked to her then walked out, only to find a woman rushing towards him behind her the twins, Adarsh, Sonia and Marie

Eliana: Jude is that you?

Sanjay’s eyes widened as she hugged him and kissed him all over his face

Marie: NO, this is my Sanjay not Jude, my son, get off him 

Eliana broke the hug and Marie pulled Sanjay away

Eliana: sorry (then she smiled widely) but you are Adarsh’s son so technically my son too, I am Eliana, Mother of Jude, Viola and Eve

Sanjay: I am sorry but I know and they know that their mother passed away 25 years ago

Eliana frowned: what?

And she looked at Adarsh and he looked at her with a challenging look

Eliana: you go to visit Hira, I will speak with Adarsh few words then come behind you

Sanjay left and everyone entered except Marie and Sonia, Adarsh looked at them and Marie frowned and walked towards the room with Sonia, while whispering

Marie: who brought this snake to my life?

Sonia whispered sarcastically: maybe Hira brought it to Adarsh to teach him how a real woman looks like

Marie frowned to her as they entered Hira’s room

Eliana: you told my children I am dead, Adarsh how could you?

Adarsh looked at the glass of Hira’s room door and saw Hira looking towards them, he looked at Eliana

Adarsh: Hira is waiting for us, we will talk about that Later

Eliana: no Adarsh, we delayed this talk for 25 years, I think it’s time to talk, why are you still angry on me?

Adarsh chuckled sarcastically: you left me with 3 children to be with my driver, Eliana; how can this be forgiven, you cheated on me

Eliana: no Adarsh, I cheated on him when I married you, I was just a 15 years old that came with her  poor family for a great job opportunity that Alejandro my family’s friend found for us in a wealthy lady’s house, you both entered my life in the same time, showed me the same attention, I loved him, and he was just your driver and I didn’t love you, you scared me, you were the master, friend of Radha the woman we work for but again he is the driver and you are the master, so when you asked for me my family gave me to you but refused him, I was young and helpless Adarsh, I married you and we got blessed with three beautiful kids and I tried to be happy but you didn’t love me for even a minute (then she smiled faintly) when he was dying everyday with his love for me and I was dying for my love for him

Adarsh shook his head: that is not an excuse for what you did to your children

Eliana: what I did to my children is giving them a happy life, we weren’t happy Adarsh, we were miserable but when I left they got a chance to be a part of a happy home, and you found love with Marie and got blessed with a handsome son like Sanjay, you have many beautiful things in your life and I never was one of them

Adarsh: I will never forget this one day when my children woke up to find their mother left them (then he frowned more) their mother left them but worked as a nanny and raise a stranger kid when her own children have no one to raise them

Eliana frowned: Hira is not a stranger kid, Hira is like a daughter to me, she is Alejandro’s and Radha’s daughter, and Alejandro is like my brother and Radha is like your sister so I raised a girl like our daughter

Adarsh mind felt numb and his breath froze in his lungs trying to understand what Eliana just said

Adarsh: what Hira has to do with Alejandro and Radha Garcia?

Eliana frowned confused: Hira is Garcia, Alejandro and Radha’s daughter, they died in Radha’s cardboard factory, it got burned with them and they left Hira a 10 years old, how don’t you know that?

Adarsh shocked eyes got crowded with tears and looked at Hira’s door glass and saw her looking at him as well
