Dominik brought Chaya and the kids to his brother's pack. Alpha Dean seemed confused. He knew his brother's hatred towards women, yet he's with a woman now.
Dominik confidently said, "You'll guard them with your life and Bailey must be kept away from Chaya and the boys."
"I'll ensure their care," said Althea, gently touching her face.
Althea sighed and mind-linked her husband, 'I don't know what to make of this. He grew up in front of us he's not capable of...'
Dean comforted her, saying, 'Just take it easy, love. Let's approach this calmly, alright?'
He sighed and glanced at a troubled Dominik.
'What a chaotic situation. I hate to admit it, but my heightened wolf instincts and the unmistakable scent of Bay confirm that those kids belong to him. How on earth did this happen?'
Dominik consumed the whole glass of Scotch in one gulp.
Althea, Dominik saw her standing there, in a daze, mumbling, her eyes shimmering silver, saying, "He is coming..."
Dominik stood up, his eyes darkened, and growled, "I'll rip his heart out."
Dean intervened, “Dominik, you must calm down.”
His roar jolted her back to reality. Terrified and confused, she frantically surveys her environment while her thoughts race with inquiries: ‘Where am I? Why am I here?’ Dominik hurriedly walked past, concealing his black eyes from her sight. "Mr. "Dominik!" she called out, but he continued.
Althea approached her and whispered, "Come, my love. You'll catch a cold." She inquired about her sons' whereabouts when they arrived at the room. Althea replied, "They are sleeping, let's go check on them."
Althea explained to Chaya where she was and how she had gotten there.
Chaya was asked if she remembered what had happened to her. After thinking for a while, she described the intense pain she felt, as if her body was being torn apart. Althea, with a concerned expression, inquired if there had been an explanation given about them. Chaya nodded in affirmation.
“The pain was due to the werewolf, who chose you as their mate, having s****l relations with someone else.”
Chaya's eyes widened and whispered, “Another... I won't survive.” Althea comforted her with a gentle "Ssh, honey—we'll find a way to help you."
Chaya trembled in fear and asked, "Will he find me?" "No need to worry, sweetheart," Althea comforted her. “He won't—I'll ensure that he stays away.” Chaya quietly wept, not wanting to wake the boys. "I cannot endure more pain," she expressed. Althea lulled her to sleep.
Althea paced as Dominik and Dean arrived. "I am going to kill him," she said, at the point of shifting. Dean had to hug her tightly and advised, "Breathe deeply, explain to us what transpired.”
Dominik questioned if she now believed him.
She acknowledged by nodding.
He shocked Dean and Althea by explaining that due to consuming a potion, he was in a half-shifted state when he raped her. "Not even a she-wolf can stand that...” Althea gasped.
Dominik vowed to break the bond between the two. He turned off his phone upon seeing Bailey's name.
