My Stepbrother and I

It's a normal day in my life as I prepared to go to school. I carried my bag as I was about to step out of my house. "Allyson," My mom called. "Mom," I answered. I stepped back to meet her in her room and I saw her dressing up. "Hey mom," I said to call her attention to me. "Oh hey there," She said as she was trying to zip up her dress. I knew she was having a hard time trying to zip up her dress, so I decided to help her. "Thanks," She said. "So yeah, I'm going to come late today," She said. "Why? Where are you going?" I asked. "I'm going to a very important meeting," She replied. "Important meeting?" I asked looking like I was not even convinced a bit. "Yeah, don't you believe me?" She asked. "Yeah...do whatever you want," I said and I left her room. As I was walking down the living room, I looked at the picture of my dad that is placed on the wall. It's been seven years since he left us. We can definitely feel his absence, since we are nearly managing without him. If he was here now I would definitely not be going out to catch a bus. I'm sure I would be in something better. I went outside and saw the bus coming towards my house. Right on time. I entered the bus and saw many students inside the bus with their friends too. But my friends don't always take the bus. So I'm always alone in the bus and I'm quite okay with it. I love keeping to myself, how I managed to even have my best friends, I don't understand. As the bus drove to school, I brought out my earpiece and started listening to music to clear my head. As I was listening to the music my head was resting on the glass of the bus. After a while the bus finally got to school, I alighted from the bus and went inside the school gate. "Bell hill high," I read on one of the big signboard that is placed outside. I kept on walking and Every other students were walking and going to their various classes too. The school is very busy as always. As I was walking I heard my name being called frim afar. I turned around to look at who is calling me, and I saw my friends Betty and Annie. "Hey," I said and went to hug them. "Hey pretty girl," Betty said as she hugged me. "How are you doing boo?" Annie asked. "Well, I'm doing like I'm always doing," I replied. We started walking down the hall until Annie and Betty stopped all of a sudden. "What is it?" I asked. "He is here," Betty said. "Who is here?" I asked as I turned to check who it was and I saw Zach walking down the hallway. Zach is the hottest guy in school, every girl would die to be with him even though they know he will still break their heart. Zach has alway was 3s been my crush since I got to this school. His hair is full and fluffy he has a very blue eyes, perfect chiseled jaws, crispy lips, you can tell he has a great body and abs through the shirt. He is just everything a girl wants, I have never stood in front of him and made contact, it just have never happened and it might never will. Zach kept on walking with his friends. "Isn't he just wonderful?" Betty said with her dreamy voice. "Back off," Annie quickly said. "Y'all keep on fighting for him, I know I can never have him so I won't even bother stressing myself," I said. "Aww, your man is coming soon don't worry," Betty said to lighten my mood. "Thanks," I said. "So how is it with your mum?" Annie asked. "So today, she told me that she was going to come late, I asked her why and she said she wants to go for a meeting," I explained. "Oh," Annie said after comprehending everything I just said. "But do you think she went to the meeting or do you think she is lying to you ?" Betty asked. "Yes, I actually do think she is lying to me," I answered. "Wow. That's crazy," Annie said. "I know right," I said immediately. "The thing is that she doesn't know that I know that she has been meeting up with a man," I said and the girls jaw was on the floor. "You mean, she is dating a man ?" Betty asked still filled with surprise. "That's some twist," Annie said. "She's dating a man and they are pretty serious about it, I sometimes hear her calling late at night," I explained. "There's no way." Betty was still in shock. "And when my mum was telling her to try to have a man in her life again, she blatantly refused and made it sound like it was such a very grave thing to do," Annie said. Her mum and my mum are close friends. "That's what annoyed me the most. She acted like she can never fall in love with anybody again in this life, now look at her, she just fell in love with another random guy," I ranted out. I continued walking, I can't let my mom's issue to stop me from learning in school. I entered the classroom, with Betty and Annie and we found our place to sit, Betty and Annie were greeting their other friends but I quickly took my sit, some people call me the lonely wolf because I rarely talk to them in the class. I only come to class to listen to the teacher and after the class, I greet my Annie and Betty goodbye, and I'm on my way home. That's how my typical day at school is. As I was sitting and just looking I saw the biggest jerk in our class, Jake walking towards me and I always already bothered because I know that he is just coming to frustrate my life, it's not like he bullies me but somehow annoys me. "Hey there lone wolf," He said as he walked towards me. I took my face away from him and turned to the other side of the class. "Don't run away from me," He said. Can I even run away from this creature, he always follows me to everywhere I go. I kept my position and did not still look at him. "Why are you not looking at me?" He asked. "Are you scared?" He asked again. "I'm not going to leave here till you say something," He said. Originally, I would have said he should leave me alone but I know that even if I say so, he will still choose to stay, so it's better if I say nothing. "Pretty girl I'm talking to you," He said. "Why don't you just leave her alone," Betty said as she came to my rescue. "I'm tryna have a moment with her," He said to Betty. "I don't know what you get in trying to frustrate her," Annie also added. He stood up and finally left, I was so relieved. "Hey, I told you that he is only trying to pull your legs," Betty said while she held me. "I know that's why I'm ignoring him, trust me," I said. "I'd say you should disturb him back but you choose to keep to your self so I won't suggest that," Annie said. I gave her a bombastic side eye after she said that. The teacher entered the class, and he started teaching maths, most students were bored and we're so tired but I find it so amusing, I mean, I cane to school to learn so I'm always going to keep learning and I'm always so focussed on it. I was solving the maths as the teacher was solving it on the board. "Anybody want to solve this question?" The teacher asked. I already know the solution to the equation just by looking at at while seated, but I will never volunteer myself to do it. Nobody raised their hands and the teacher was already getting angry. "So nobody wants to solve this?" He asked and the whole class remained silent. "Ok, since nobody wants to come out, I'm going to choose someone myself," He said, and he has his eyes out for someone to solve this for him. His eyes was looking towards my side, i dont want him to pick me. "That girl," He said as he pointed at me. "Sh** no way," I said. I managed to gather the confidence to stand up. I can feel the whole class looking at me. I was so nervous as I raised my legs one by one. "Lone wolf, Lone wolf!!" Some students started chanting as I was walking. I finally got to the front of the class. "Here," The teacher said with the marker in his hand. I collected it and started solving the question. I did not even take up to five minutes before I finished solving it. The teacher was so shocked. I gave him the marker and went straight to my seat. "That was surprisingly good," He said. I know what he wanted to do, I know he wanted me to fail so badly so he can humiliate me, but little did he know that you can humiliate me in other aspects but not in maths.
