“I’m telling you, this had to be White’s doing. Why else go after you? You need more security, man. I’m not talking about anything over-the-top. Just a couple more guys.” Ron was saying for about the fifth or sixth time.
I just sighed and let him finish before saying, “Look, Ron, I appreciate what you’re saying. But it’s not necessary right now. I’m not going anywhere. Not with Tracey on bedrest and my father coming home later today.”
I’m thrilled my father is being released. Though he’ll be on bedrest as well, and they’re sending him home with a nurse. But he’ll be home. Well, he’ll be here. But my condo is better than the hospital at least.
