Lucas had drove few blocks away from Noah’s house. He was on a call with one of the reporters who had asked for an interview with Noah. He declines the interview and threatened the reporter not to publicize anything or his career will be ended in a blink of an eye. He ended the call and just then, he sights a familiar face, standing with her arms crossed and her expression was neutral as ever. Lucas had been attracted to her ever since he had seen her, her deportment attracted him more. He stops the car and begins to wind down the windshield.
Julia has been frustrated with getting delayed by the cab she had called. Her car had broken down suddenly and she needed to get to her workplace as soon as possible, she had a client waiting in for her. When she saw Lucas winding down his car windshield, her brows furrowed as the thought of their previous encounters flashed across her mind.
Their first encounter had ended in a fight, Julia had gone to a coffee shop to get herself a warm relaxing coffee to calm her frustration. She had an argument with a rude patron earlier the day and she was in a bad mood when she had gone to the coffee shop. While she just took her eyes off the road a bit on her way to exit the coffee shop, she bumped into a man, the coffee spilled on the man’s clothes but instead of Julia apologizing, she had blamed the man instead for not looking where he was headed to.
That man had turned out to be Lucas. Lucas had a sudden urge to drink coffee, he had stopped his car to quickly branch at a coffee shop before he could go back to the company but unfortunately, he bumps into a woman who had coffee held in her grip while her head was bowed, staring intently at what displayed in the screen of her mobile. Lucas had no intention of making it a big deal but when the woman had blamed him, he tried to defend himself which ended up in an argument. Lucas isn’t the type to cause a scene so he left her with her rants. Surprisingly for them both, they met again the very night of the day they had first met. He had gone in place of Noah to listen to every necessary things Noah needed to know. Lucas had recognized her right away because of her unmistakably wild lucid eyes. Even though their encounter wasn’t a good one, he couldn’t deny the fact that Julia was pretty. He held no conversation with her that night but only eyed her occasionally.
Julia had also recognized him right away, she had the habit of memorizing people’s facial features so she could get realistic portraits painted. Lucas’s face is the type she could never forget, not because of the brawl
they had but the fact that she counts him among the three men she had ever found attractive. The first man was a senior back in her middle school and the second man is a worldwide celebrity, he is a musician and she loved to listen to his songs, Lucas is the third. His incredibly masculine build and his perfectly proportioned face got her attention. From his angular eyebrows to his deep black eyes with a little glister of gold, his prominent cheekbones and a strong chin with chiseled jawline, she could say it is godlike.
“You need help”Lucas said and Julia jolts out of her thoughts. She cautioned herself to ignore his incredibly sensual presence and focus on making an assail if he comes at her.
“Not that I ask you” Julia said. Still with her arms crossed, her frown had deepens which made a smile form on Lucas’s lips.
“You look like you are in a rush, you sure you don’t need my help?” Lucas asked with his brows raised up while measuring her up with his eyes, he found her obstinate attitude cute.
“Please, can you leave me be already” Julia said with her chins raised up. Her pride wouldn’t allow her to seek help from him even though she needed it right away.
“Okay” Lucas simply responded and then starts his car, he begins to drive off. Julia had thought he would be insistent on helping her. She cursed underneath her breath as her gaze followed his car. Suddenly, Lucas stops his car again when he was a little far away from where she stood and begins to reverse. A smile of fulfillment formed on Julia’s lips as she watches him reverse his car and it immediately fades when she sees he had reached her side.
“I can’t help leaving you be when you are my boss’s sister-in-law, I will be chastised if he ever hears of this” Lucas said while pairing is eyes out of his car window, staring at Julia’s honey brown eyes.
“I bet he would ever care about that, you need not worry about me” Julia said, for the first time sounding the most polite.
“Please I insist, I will give you a lift to wherever it is you are headed, it’s my duty and I take it seriously” Lucas said. Julia stares at him in silence for a while before walking to the other end of the car to take a seat beside Lucas. Lucas had a smile on his lips as he thought of them being enclosed in the comfort of the car. When she got inside his car, her redolence envelopes the car. Lucas could easily identify her anywhere if he gets a whiff of her choice of fragrance.
She buckles her seatbelt and laid her back on the car seat, not planning to speak a word to Lucas.
“Aren’t you going to tell me your destination” Lucas eyed her while his hands were on the steering wheel.
“Allure Art Studio” Julia said with a quiet voice. Lucas sensed she was embarrassed by giving up her pride to get into his car. He smiles again and then roars his car to life. Julia stiffens as she sat uncomfortably on the car seat. The attraction between them is killing and she hitched to draw closer to him. The last time she had felt the way she’s feeling at the moment was back at middle school when she had been a teenager. She crushed on a senior which ended rather badly and she had kept the painful memory deep inside her, never to experience such again. The only thing she seeks from a man is to satisfy her carnal desire. Just by looking at Lucas, her desire had gotten to its peak. She felt shameful with her s****l urge and cautions herself inwardly. She tried as much as possible to keep her composure while she tried to get her mind off the eminently sexy man she’s stucked with for the next thirty minutes.
