Cassandra Richard is a successful businesswoman with it all: a successful life and an adorable son, but her past still haunts her, particularly Zachary Williams's return to her life. Zachary, her ex-husband who cheated with her best friend, is one of the prominent billionaires, yet he asked to visit her for an unexpected cause one day.

He wanted to fix what they had previously and reclaimed his wife also to have custody of his son, which Cassandra flatly refused, claiming that she didn't want to be involved in his life again. Still, her mind and heart disagreed, and Cassandra is not that bad at keeping her son away from his birth father, so she allowed him to meet their son for good despite her love for Zachary hadn't vanished, and bringing him back into her life would be a huge mistake.

But allowing him to feel the sorrow she endured six years ago isn't enough for her to be pleased, especially since she still has feelings for Zachary, and those sentiments will lead her to make a catastrophic mistake after one night she gave her body to her ex-husband, and cause another havoc in Cassandra's life.

Will it be a new indication for them to return to their old ways, or is it just a mistake that Cassandra didn't intend to happen? What if Zachary discovered her little secrets and used them to boost his desire to reclaim her?

Prologue
SIX YEARS AGO. Cassandra looked at her phone for the fifth time today. She was worried about her husband since Zachary didn't call her after she got to the place where her business trip was taking place. Her mind is nowhere to be found, and she barely focuses on her work. "Mrs. Williams?" One of the board members called her name. She looks at the owner of that voice, "Yes?" "I see your mind is occupied; why don't we take a break for a while?" "Sure," She smiled at them. "I appreciate that." They stood up one by one and left the room quickly. Cassandra and her secretary, Kate, are the only ones left inside the room. She leans on her chair and looks at the massive window of their company. "If you don't mind me asking Mrs. Williams, are you alright?" Kate's secretary suddenly asked her. "Of course, I'm fine," She replied without even looking at Kate. "You don't look okay," Kate said with concern in her voice. She sighed deeply before looking at her secretary, and she knew Kate was worried about her, and she wouldn't blame her since she'd been out of her mind after they got there. "I'm just worried. Zachary didn't call me nor text me." She sighed again, "I started thinking that something happened to him that he couldn't even think of contacting me." "What do you think, Kate?" She asked her secretary. Kate averted her eyes and tempted herself, which made Cassandra suspicious about her secretary's behavior. Kate was the one she always trusted, especially in her personal life. "Why do you seem to be hiding something from me, Kate?" Kate gulped and played with her fingers, "N-nothing, I'm not hiding anything from you, ma'am." She gave her a suspicious look, "You know something that I didn't know, don't you?" Her secretary looks around as if she doesn't want anyone to hear what she's going to say before taking a deep breath. Kate was still having second thoughts about if she's telling her boss or not. However, Cassandra saw the hesitation in her secretary's eyes, and her suspicions became more eager to know what Kate was hiding from her. "Whatever it is, Kate, tell me," She said and held her secretary's hand to show her that everything would be fine. Kate sighed, "I didn't know if I was in the right position to say this, but I don't want to keep it to you for so long either." "You deserve to know the truth, ma'am, and I think Mr. Williams is not busy," She stated. "What do you mean by that, Kate?" Kate held her hand back, "Remember when you told me to get the papers assigned to your husband? I saw your husband and your best friend. They were fighting about something, but after that fight, Ms. Freya kissed your husband." "Wait, I don't understand," Cassandra said, having trouble processing what her secretary told her. "I know it's hard to believe, ma'am, but that's all I saw, and because of the shock, I dropped the tablet I was holding, causing them to stop kissing, and then... Ms. Freya threatened me if I told you what I saw." Cassandra felt her body weaken. She clenched her fist and laughed as if she had already lost her mind. She didn't want to believe her secretary, but she knew Kate wouldn't dare create a story to make her and her best friend fight. "Do you mean it," She said to her secretary. Kate nodded, "Yes, ma'am, you know I can't lie to you because you are like a sister to me." She calms herself down, "I know, and I want you to relax. I won't let anyone hurt you; that's why I'm telling you to leave the city and never come back." "How about you, ma'am?" "Don't worry about me, Kate," She smiled at her, "But before that, I want to ask you a favor." She is going back to their hometown to verify if her secretary is telling the truth and if Kate is telling her the truth, she doesn't know what to do. ******************** [FAST FORWARD] Las Vegas is not that far from LA, and Cassandra only has to take a 4-hour drive. She looks at the mansion and takes a deep breath before going out to her car. After receiving that unexpected tip from her secretary, Cassandra didn't want to lose her chance to catch them red-handed. She wanted to see it for herself if her husband was cheating with her so-called best friend. She enters their house, and to her surprise, there is no maid roaming inside the mansion. Her suspicions become strong; that's why she takes the stairs to go to the second where their bedroom is located. Every step she makes, her heart beats so fast, and it is like a hammer pumping into her chest. Cassandra stops right in front of the bedroom door and holds the doorknob. She can feel her heart racing even more and her limbs are shivering to know what is inside of that room. "This is it, Cassandra, whatever you saw inside of the room keep yourself calm," She said to herself before opening the door without making any noise. She started to step on her feet and walk inside the bedroom. The more she was getting closer to their bed the more her heart pounded to death, but when she finally saw what was inside, she no longer restrained herself and large steps approached the side of the bed where her friend was lying. She violently pulled Freya's hair, causing her to wake up and her husband. Zachary doesn’t expect his wife’s sudden return and quickly stops his wife and keeps his wife away so that she will never hurt Freya again. Cassandra violently let go of her husband's grip and she couldn't stop her tears from flowing. She didn't expect her secretary to tell the truth. "Cassandra, Let me explain." She stops her husband, "I don't need your explanations. I've seen enough to prove that you two are fooling me! Why Zachary? Why!" "It's not like you think, let me explain," Zach pleaded. “What has been my shortcoming as a wife for you to do this to me?! Tell me, Zach!" She shouted. "I'm sorry.." She laughs sarcastically, "Sorry? Your apology is not enough to heal my wound, Zach! Of all the women in the world, my friend is the one you chose!" Cassandra looks behind her where Freya is standing and gripping the blanket that covered her naked body. "And you! How dare you sleep with my husband, you slut!" She angrily said. Freya smirked, "Slut? It's not my fault if your husband chose me except you." "What have I done to you, Freya? You are like a sister to me and I trust you, but look what you did! You broke our friendship and slept with my husband!!" "I don't care!" Freya yelled, "What I care about is Zach, you stole him from me and I'm just taking back what is mine!" "He would just marry you because of his inheritance, if he didn't. Zach would never get a single penny from his dad. That's why he was forced to marry someone like you!" Freya added. Cassandra was stunned and shocked by what she heard. Now her mind was messed up and she didn't know who to trust nor to believe. "He didn't love you, Cassandra, he's just using you to get his inheritance!" She felt more pain in her chest and at any moment her legs would give up, but she had to stay strong. She slowly turns around while her tears continue to flow down her cheeks. "Is she telling the truth?" She asked her husband. Zach averted his eyes and didn't say anything. He didn't expect that his wife would know about his secret so early. He wanted to fix everything but it was too late because Cassandra was already in front of him and asking if his lover was telling them the truth. "Look into my eyes, is Freya telling me the truth? Tell me!" He exhales deeply before looking straight into her eyes, "Yes, she's telling you the truth." As if heaven and earth fell on Cassandra because of what she heard, she backed away and leaned against the wall to support herself. She felt at any moment her legs would give up. "But I'm still choosing you, Cassandra. My will to use you to get my inheritance has vanished because deep inside of my heart... I have already fallen for you," Zach said. "What? Are you kidding me, Zach? You are choosing her over me!" Freya objected. "Yes, because in the first place, this is wrong. You and I are nothing but buddies, aren't we?" Freya scoffed, "I gave all I have to you, then you're telling me that what we have is nothing?!" "You seduce me and that is the biggest mistake I've made in my life, Freya." "How dare you!" Freya shouted. Zach looks at his wife, "My heart belongs to Cassandra." Cassandra laughed and her laughter became louder. She looked at her husband and she shook her head. "It's too late, Zach... You already hurt me and choosing me is not enough for me to forgive you." "Cassandra.." "Don't call my name, I don't want to hear it from you because whenever I hear it. I felt pity for myself because I was married to a man like you!!" Zachary attempts to approach his wife but Cassandra steps backward like he's a kind of disease. "Don't you ever think about touching me, don't call me, and don't ever think that we are going back like we used to, because from now on, you don't have a wife, Zach." "But Cassandra, I already love you." She smirked, "Love me? Well, it's too late because I already hate myself for marrying a man who wanted to get his inheritance. If I found this out earlier maybe I wouldn't have agreed to marry you, Zach..." "What do you want me to do," he asked. "Do you want me to kneel in front of you?" "What do I want?" She looks at her so-called friend, "I want you two to stay away from my life, I want you to forget that you have a wife and I want you to forget that you have a child." Zachary was shocked by what she said, "W-what do you mean..." "I'm pregnant Zach and I'm supposed to surprise you after I finish my business in Las Vegas, but you know what happened? I'm the one who got surprised and, worse, caught you red-handed." She wiped her tears away, "I love you Zach, but we didn't deserve to have you in our lives. You didn't deserve to see your child, so you'll never get custody of your son. So, imprint that in your mind." That's all Cassandra said before leaving the room and rushing down to the first floor where her tears were still flowing and she couldn't help but cry. All her life she thought Zachary loved her, but she was wrong because the man she loved married her for money. She started her car's engine and drove away to their house. Cassandra didn't want to go back anymore. She wanted to cut all their connections because from now on she wanted to wake up from a dream that would never happen. "I'm sorry if I have to do this worse, but if I stay with your dad, the pain I was feeling will stay, and worse I might go crazy," She said and hold her tummy. "I will give you the life you deserve, my baby, even though you don't have a dad and I know someday... You will ask for him and if that day comes, I hope I can face him again." She is pregnant and that is supposed to be a surprise for her husband, but she was the one who is surprised and finds out that Zachary has a lover. Cassandra always dreamed of having a happy family, but now it's all gone and she has to face another tomorrow without Zachary.
