The She Alpha

Chapter 4

Eva’s POV

As I continue to drift in and out, I feel my skin being misted with some kind of spray. I can only assume it’s to hide my scent so others can not track me. My eyes close one last time and I can’t seem to force them open. I try to mind link my father just as I feel the cuffs being placed on my wrist. A sharp stinging pain shoots through my entire body forcing me into convulsions as the cuffs are tightened. My body is now being gently lifting into someone arms as everything goes blank.

While I slowly regain conciseness, my eyes open. I look around the dim room that I am in and quickly realize it is the basement. My feet are bound together and tied to the leg of an old weight bench. I notice my waist is chained to another piece of old training equipment. I can’t tell what it is because it is covered by a blue polythene sheet. Panic overtakes me and I try to shift but I’m too weak. I try to mind link my father when I’m flooded with the memory of how I got here. I glance around once more looking for Beta Miles when I notice the veins flowing from the cuffs up my arms are shining bright purple.

“Ahhh. Little She Alpha. What are you going to do now?” I hear someone say from a dark corner on the opposite side of the basement.

“What do you want from me Miles?” I question using every bit of strength I have to get the words out of my mouth.

“I overheard a conversation your pathetic father and secret lover were having. Apparently, you were born to be the next Alpha. Quite a gracious gift from the Moon Goddess if you ask me.” He says maliciously.

My brain is racing and I can’t seem to gather but thoughts but I am not willing to show weakness.

“Why am I here?” I ask coldly.

“Well. I’m glad you asked. I have then the liberty of planning your future. First, you will start by making everyone believe that you were given a mate by the Moon Goddess. That mate will be Messer. Should be easy enough given there are feelings there. Then, you will make sure he is the next Alpha. Y’all will mark each other and be bonded forever. Finally, you will not utter a word of this to anyone or I will kill your weak father. Someone should have put him out of his misery long ago anyways.” He replies with a smug grin.

“How about I make you a deal? Let me go and we can take this up with the council or you will die by my hands before nightfall.” I offer with a cold tone.

“Have it your way!” He smiles quickly making his way to the elevator.

The doors open and Mindy steps out. They exchange a few words and Beta Miles leaves alone.

“So, you want to take the hard route?” She laughs as she is slowly making her way towards me. I struggle jerking myself back and forth trying to break myself free.

“You really should stop resisting. Your cuffs are laced with Wolfsbane. The more you struggle the weaker you will be. Actually, now that I think about it, keep trying She Alpha. Save us the trouble of having to kill you.” She laughs as if it’s amusing.

Mindy walks right pass me grabbing a chair and then makes her way with it back to the dark corner on the opposite side of the room. I expected torture from her after her disgusting remark but instead she is glued to her phone.

I sit still and know I need to come up with a plan. I scan the room looking for anything that could possibly help pry these cuffs off. Unfortunately for me, they have thought ahead. Everything is pushed out of my reach except…

Messer’s POV

After talking to Alpha Kane I needed to clear my head. Still wrapped in a towel, I make my way out the pack house and into the forest. I drop the towel and shift into my wolf. Then I run as far away from the pack house as our boarders allow me. The whole time my thoughts are on Eva. Everything would have been so much less complicated had we been mated by the Moon Goddess. I have the sudden urge to wrap her in my arms. I need for her to know, I will be her side no matter who she is.

After a few hours of running, I am back at the pack house. I try to mind link her but can’t seem to get through. It’s like she isn’t even there. Distress washes over me as I can’t reach her.

I rush into her suit and hear water flowing. The further I go, I notice random pieces of my clothes in a trail leading to the bathroom. I see her shirt on the ground and pick it up. I sniff it for her scent but it’s gone. I open the bathroom door and notice the tub is just starting to overflow. Without a thought, I quickly pull the plug in the tub and shut off the water. Then, I scurry off. Making my way back to the elevator, I see a note on the coffee table next to the sofa.

Meet me in the tub and bring these.

“Alpha. Something is wrong. It’s Eva.” I mind link with Kane.

“What’s wrong Messer. Is she ok?” His voice ringing in my head.

“I’m coming down now Sir.” I link back in full panic.

I race down the hall past people as they stare and whistle jokingly. I look down and realize I am once again wrapped this stupid towel. How have I not put on pants yet. The embarrassment washes away as my stomach clenches in fear. I can’t let anything happen to my Eva.

I get to Alpha Kane’s office and explain the circumstances that brought me here. His eyes go dark and become unfocused as he tries to mind link Eva.

“Get everyone together. We need search teams set up and I mean NOW!” He screams while tossing me a pair of navy dress pants he pulled from his office closet.

As I pull them on, I mind link my father. “Eva seems to have gone missing. We need search parties set up now. Gather everyone you can and meet Alpha Kane and I in the conference room next the his office.”

“Im on my way! Don’t worry Son. We will find her!” He links back concerned yet confident.

Eva’s POV

Seriously. How long can one be consumed by a cell phone. Mindy has not taken her eyes off that damn thing in what seems like hours. “Ring Ring Ring” her phone starts going off. She picks it up right away with a lively tone “Hey Girl! I’m sorry I can’t make it tonight. I am tied up helping my father with something. You know how it is. Beta duties never end.” She gives me a wink before pacing around totally distract.

I quietly reach up digging my nails into the blue polythene ripping two strips off. I use her oblivion to my advantage prying the polythene between my skin and the cuffs. This will provide the perfect barrier to keep the Wolfsbane laces cuffs off of my skin. I just need to stay here unharmed a little while longer to regain my strength.
