Cole
As I wiped down the counter tops of the diner, I couldn't get Lily put of my head. Aunt Betty had given me her name when I went to check in her yesterday. She had slept the whole day. I went by acting like I was checking if Aunt Betty needed anything, but she saw right through my plan from the get go. I should of known. No one could ever get anything by that woman. I had felt Lily this morning, so I knew she had finally woke up, but the emotions she were having was those of such sadness it was almost torture. My wolf whined at the memory. The bell to the diner door chimed and shook me out of my head. I looked to the door to see my brother walking in. He was my beta and my right hand man. He smiled at the other customers making small talk with them as he passed and made his way over to me. My brother looked a lot like me only younger. I had been the youngest Alpha at 18, and now 3 years later he was the youngest beta at 18. I was a couple inches taller than my brother standing at 6'3, and my his shaggy brown hair looked a lot different to my close cut fade, but we had the same eyes, mouth, and nose. I always aggravated him and would brag on my 5 o'clock shadow because he was unable to grow a beard, or at least a full one. Adam jumped up on the stool across the counter from me. "Did you know that there is a new wolf in town." He whispered. "Yes I was aware." I admitted. "Well did you know that Aunt Betty is allowing her to move into her cottage?" He asked. "No I hadn't head." I told him, angry that Aunt Betty hadn't informed me before moving anew wolf into our town. She knew the rules, and while she might have been my great aunt she knew that that kind of thing had to be brought before me. "Are we letting her stay." My brother asked. My wolf growled at his statement. "I don't see no harm in it." I began wiping the counters once more to calm my wolf down. "What?" He gasped. "You know she has a pack, they will be to find her, I mean have you smelt her, she is powerful, and from the looks of her someone will be wanting to know where she is, I wouldn't let a fine piece like that go." He grunted. A low growl escaped my throat. before I could stop it. How dare he talk about my mate that way. My wolf was growling as well and it was getting harder to control him. "Whoa!" My brother sat stunned. "I know that look big brother." He pointed in my face. "The protective stance, the shes mine back off growl." He explained. "You have imprinted on this female!" He accused. "Leave it be Adam!" I growled. "Fine Cole, for now I'll leave it be but as our Alpha while she may be your mate we are your pack and your first priority. " he growled and jumped up from the stool. He knew better than that. I watched him throw the door open and exit the diner. He had imprinted when he was 16, he knew what it felt like, and what that meant. I would put her before anyone ,she was my first priority. How could he say that? My wolf was growling and begging to come out but I reigned him in, promising to go running shortly. I looked around the diner and for the first time noticed that all eyes were on me. "Eat your breakfast and mind your business. " I roared at them, throwing my rag.
A short time later I was cleaning up breakfast when Suddenly a familiar scent caught my nose. It was once again covered by vanilla but I knew it was her. My wolf began howling Mate! Mate! he screamed. I reigned him in once again and prepared myself. No one had ever done me this way, or made me feel these things. My pack and family had always been number one to me, I had never had a real interest in girls since I had broke up with my high school sweetheart when I assumed the role of Alpha, which she still hated me for and tried desperately to get me to take her back constantly. She knew she wasn't my mate. We had dated 5 years and had never imprinted. She had wanted me to mark her make her.mine, but I refused to do that, knowing she would find her mate , and by marking her I'd be taking her from that. I loved her, but not in that way. The bell to the front door caught my attention as well as the other customers of the diner. Suddenly she appeared. She looked a lot different from the last time I had seen her. It was like she was glowing. Her caramel hair was pulled over one shoulder and hung down over her breast. Her bright green eyes had life back in them, and were sparkling like a diamond in the sun. They were framed by the longest most beautiful eye lashes I had ever seen. My eyes traveled down her face to her mouth, which was full and pink. She bit her bottom lip which aroused me to no end. My eyes moved further down to the white tank top she was wearing . Her small shoulders were slightly red, I had the overwhelming urge to run my tongue over her creamy skin. Her breast were full and perky. I could just see her cleavage peeking out the top of her shirt. Her shorts showed off her round bottom and her long creamy legs that I wanted wrapped around me so bad I couldn't stand it. Our eyes met, and the world stopped. I couldn't snap out of it, she had me captivated, and I could smell a hint of arousal from her.
She suddenly dropped her eyes to the ground breaking eye contact and bringing me back to earth. My heart was racing. I looked around the room and everyone was starring at us. I gave a low growl asserting my dominance and giving them a warning. They quickly took the hint and looked away. She made her way over to the bar and sat down on one of the stools. I grabbed a menu and made my way over to her. "How are you today?" I asked her as I handed the menu to her. "I'm doing good, what about you?" She smiled up at me. God I'd do anything it took to never see that smile fade. "Doing well! I admitted. "Listen!" She started"I think we both know what has happened to us. We can't just ignore it forever, I know my wolf refuses to let me. So I thought maybe if u wanted you could come for dinner tonight and we would get to know one another, maybe take things slowly. " she stammered. I was shocked but excited, my wolf howled with glee, "I think dinner would be great, and slow is good for me if that's what your comfortable with." I told her. "Good, it is. " she smiled. "So your staying at Aunt Betty's Cottage." I asked her. "Yes!It's amazing, and she is unlike anyone I've ever met, so kind and intuitive, I um hope you don't mind." She stammered as she looked down at the menu. "Of course not, it's been empty so long it'll be good to have someone there again." I told her. " "Well I also came to ask a favor." She stuttered. "What's that." I asked curiously. "I am looking for a job and I thought maybe," she started but I cut her off. "Of course you can work here Lily." I told her as I laid my hand on top of hers. "Really you mean it." She smiled. "You can start Monday morning." I smiled back at her.
