Chapter 1
Bella POV
My n*****s started to tingle at the mere sight of him. Just imagining his big hands touching softly my breasts, and his tongue sucking on one of my n*****s made me wet between my legs.
"Snap out of it, Bella!" Oh yes, having a twin sister who can easily read my mind is no fun sometimes. I mean, I like the sister bond and the fact that we always know what the other one feels, but I sometimes need my privacy.
"I can't help it, Iris! It's like a reflex. Whenever I catch even a glimpse of him, I get all horny! I just don't know why!" But of course I already knew. Who wouldn't be turned on by such a beautiful creature such as William? He is tall, muscular, brown hair, hazel eyes and he moves just like a god. He is always serious like he has some business to attend.
"Come, let's go, Iris said. Father will be upset if we linger around when William is here. Plus, the party is tonight and we must get ready."
I've only seen William a few times when he came by my father. I never knew what they talked about or what they did in his studio. All my sister and I knew is that we were never to speak to him. His mysteriousness only made me feel even more drawn to him. Who is he? Does his heart belong to someone? Do his hands touch someone's body at the strike of sunset? Does he take her in his arms and kiss her neck making her moan with pleasure? Caress her arm all the way down, then softly touching her belly and lifting up her skirt to get to the yummy part?
I sighed while snapping out of my sexy dream and dragged myself to my ordinary room. There was just my bed where a blue dress was waiting for the party, a nightstand, a closet with all my beautiful dresses and a make-up table.
Ooohh, the fricking party. Dad wanted us to socialize, meet people, potentially find husbands. My sister was excited about this. Me, not so much. I could literally hear her thoughts from her own room, which was next to mine.
"Oh, my good! This night could be The night! I could finally find a boyfriend! My hormones have been going crazy ever since I turned 18. It's high time I have gotten rid of my virginity!"
Unlike me, my sister was anxious to get rid of her virginity. Even though I had my own needs, I wanted to wait and find the one. Soulmate! That is what I craved for, what I needed in my life. Not just s*x, I needed butterflies, I wanted to get lost in his eyes, feel ashamed as he undresses me with his eyes, feel tingles all over my skin as he touches me gently. I wanted real marriage and children someday.
"Should I take the red dress or the green one and put some pearls on?" The red one, I think softly, as I know she reads my mind.
"Thank you", she whispers back. We are witches, but we get our full powers when we turn 19. For now, we just manage to communicate through our minds.
William POV
I opened my eyes in the morning, having had the same dream as the night before, and the night before that. This young girl keeps making appearances in head during the nights. She is gorgeous with long, wavy blond hair, blue eyes, rose cheeks. She is quite petite, but her softness and delicacy appeals to me. Every night, in my dreams, she stares at me and all I want to do is grab her breasts and make her mine. But always, just as I reach my hand to touch her, I wake up.
"William!" That was my best friend, and my companion Gary. We tended to do all the dirty work together. "Charles Davy requires our presence. It seems that he has some important job for us." As a vampire, I was pretty much accostumed to doing every shameful thing that normal people wouldn't do. They would keep their hands clean while I got mine dirty for them. I didn't know much about Charles Davy. Just that he is a powerful wizard who lives in a nice mansion with his two daughters. And that he paid really well for the work I serviced him with. He reached out to me several times. He liked to keep up his appearance as a good, merciful wizard. I didn't mind that. I didn't even care. All I wanted was to get my work done.
We arrived at his mansion, Gary always snooping around, trying to catch a glimpse of a girl. I really needed this job, it was getting boring not having anything to do, which seldom happens. As I enterred the hallway, lights started to turn on. Trying to make sense of the surrounding through the dim light, my heart stopped. For a split second, I saw the girl from my dream. She was behind a pillar, almost like she was hiding from me. Am I losing my mind? Do I have hallucinations during daytime? I blinked and she was gone. I just shurgged and entered Charles's office. My mind needs to be clear and focused on my job for now. If only life were easier and I could find love someday. A warm body next to my cold heart. The love of my life! I didn't deserve it but I wanted it so bad! My soulmate!
I entered the wizard's office and he was waiting for me in front of a big pile of books. This room was huge, filled with furniture, ancient books and all kinds of totems of different sizes, mimicking animals and creatures, from different cultures, some pretty on the eyes, some scary. Gifts, as he once told me. They were all gifts from friends and frenemies. God only knows how many battles he fought before settling down and contracting my services. He sat on a big, comfortable chair and his eyes were staring at nothing, as if he were in a trance.
"Hello! Charles? We came as you required!" Gary said, standing right in front of him. My friend had the tendency to get easily annoyed with people, especially when he was about to take on a task. And you would have to be brief, just tell him what he had to do and he would get right on it. He was flawless in battle, could easily anticipate the enemy's next move and he would strike without mercy. I had never seen someone so focused in my entire life, and I had quite a life. I have lived for over two hundred years, but Gary is the best companion I could find. He is a werewolf, a rogue. His little joke is that I am his pack, his alfa. I always wondered what was his deal. He never spoke about his family, or his upbringing so I just let it go. I knew that when he would be ready, he would tell me his story.
"Oh, I am sorry! I didn't notice you comming in. Please, close the door behind you, no one is to hear us." It seemed strange the wizard would ask that since we were always discreet, it didn't even have to be mentioned. As he sat up from his chair I saw dark circles around his blue eyes, his hair was a mess and his clothes were all wrikled up. He must have had quite a night. This thing he was about to tell us was eating him alive. Gary closed the door behind us and we approached Charles.
"You may want to sit down in order to hear this! It will affect us all! It is our doom!"
Bella POV
I wonder what father has been up to these days. I have not seen him in almost three days and the last thing he told us was about the party and that he invited "all worthy men around the territory that would and could make you and your sister happy". He wanted us to find boyfriends, potential husbands but I just did not understand why there was such a hurry. He never talked to us about marriage until now. We knew it was a sensitive subject to him ever since our mother died giving birth to us. He really lost a part of him that day! Mom, as our aunt told us, was the light of his life. She was a powerful witch and, together with my dad, they made quite a pair. There were so many stories about them, some people even called these sories true legends. Mom and Dad fought the scarriest vampires the universe has known, reestablished order where packs of wolves had tried to overcome humans and make them slaves, even removed powers from witches who had become so obsessed with ruling the world that they had become real threats to all living creatures on Earth.
Since father experinced the loss of his soulmate, I assumed he wouldn't want us to go through something similar so he never considered the idea of us with husbands.
"Are you ready? I am sooo excited! I have a feeling, more like a premonition that tonight is my night." Of course Iris only thinks about tonight. She looks so perfect! Unlike me, she is a brunette with long straight hair, she has big green eyes, her skin is very soft and her figure is curvy. Her dress fit her perfectly, the red enhancing the softness of her pale skin, the spachetti straps revealing the beauty of her long arms. How can someone look so beautiful?
"You always thought so highly of me, sister!" Oops, Iris caught me being mesmerized by her again. "You know you are gorgeous, don't you? It's like you don't really look at yourself in the mirror. I mean, obviously you look in the mirror when you get dressed but you just don't seem to acknowledge just how mesmerisimg you are! Don't believe I have not seen some of the guys around the territory ask you out. Even Terry last week!" How would she know that, I was trying to keep it to myself, since I was aware of the fact that she fancied him. "I do read your mind, you know. There is nothing that you could hide from me. Plus, if you wanted to go out with him, I wouldn't have been upset. On the contrary, I would have been happy that you finally gave in and realized that we need men in our lives!" Men. I don't need a man, I need a soulmate!
The party was about to start and eveything looked as if we entered a fairytale land. The big room, as we called it, was adorned beautifully. There were bows, pink ones and red hearts everywhere. Very subtle dad, I thought. The center piece was definitely the chocolate fountain. It looked delicious. We had a pyramide of glasses of champagne and an ice swan that shined as if it were a giant diamond. There was enough delicious food and cold drinks for the entire territory in here. I guess my dad was expecting more people than I originally thought.
"Girls, don't be shy! It's your night! Look pretty, smile and the boys will be drawn to you without a doubt!" Maya, our aunt told us. She is my father's sister and she loved and cared for us ever since our mother died. She is married to uncle Benjamin, but they don't have children, so all their love and devotion were focused on us. Even though we didn't have out mom while growing up, we were blessed to have many poeple who trully loved and spoiled us.
"Aunt, you've done an amazing job setting up the party! Did you also make the guest list?" My sister Iris was curious because she wanted to get more info on what boys would attend the party.
"Unfortunately, no. Charles requested he handled the guest list himself! He only wanted specific witches and wizards to attend so I guess we will discover together who made it on your dad's list. My beautiful girls, just enjoy the party. If you are meant to find your soulmates, very well. If not, you have your whole lives ahead, they will make an appearance when you least expect"! She would know I guess, since she found uncle Benjamin when she was almost thirty years old. Witches usually get married before they turn 19, when they get their full powers. Aunt Maya found her soulmate later. It's not that she isn't pretty, because she is gorgeous. She is a redhead with pale skin, red lips, slender figure, whose dresses are always a shade of green. Had plenty of suitors, she just didn't give them any false hopes. She knew the right one will come.
One hour later and the room was full of guests, many men, few girls. They all seemed to be having a great time. At some point, Iris ditched me to go mingle. She had her eye on some boy and she was determined to find out everything about him. Well, actually there were two boys. She only told me about one of them. Like I couldn't read her mind! There was nothing we could keep secret from one another. I decided it was time I had a glass of champagne. I had my first one when I turned eighteen. I really enjoyed its fizziness and flavour. Kind of made me dizzy as well after two glasses.
"Hi, Bella, isn't it?" I turned my head and I saw this tall guy, blond haired, big green eyes. He was muscular and he fitted his kaki pants and black shirt quite nice.
"Hi!" I whispered back, taken aback by his presence. He looked good, well, not as good as William, but still hot. "Yes, it's Bella!"
"Ian, nice to meet you! Actually, we have met before when we were children, but I guess you wouldn't remember. You were like four and I was like seven years old. Your aunt was friends with my mom and I used to come by and play with you and Iris all the time. Mom used to say she would come for playdates, for us kids, but she just really needed to have some gossip time with auntie Maya!" he started laughing and so did I.
"I remember something, but it is vague. But why did you stop comming? Did my aunt and your mom, Alessia right, kept tabs on who knew more gossip and they got envious?" I laughed again but this time he didn't laugh with me.
"No, my mom died. That's why we never got to see eachother again until now." My bad. I felt so embarassed that I wanted to crawl and hide in a mouse hole.
"I'm sorry! I had no idea! Aunt Maya never told us. I am really, really sorry!"
"That's ok. I mean, at least I got seven years with her, I got to know her, felt her love for me, tucked me into bed at night when I was scared of monsters. She always chased bad dreams and evil away. Little did I know then that all the stories she told me back then, about monsters and witches who saved the day were true. Even more, they were about your parents!" I sighed and thought about how unfair life is. How could God take away from a child the one human being that is able to comfort, cherish and make the kid feel safe? There were so many times when I needed advice from my mom. All I ever had was a picture of her, but talking to the it may have been enough when I was a toddler, but not anymore. Aunt Maya tried to fill her shoes and she did a brilliant job, she just wasn't my mom.
"I made you sad. Way to go, Ian!" We were silent for a second. "Why don't we just grab a glass of champagne and go outside in the garden, where there is less noise and we could have a nice chat? I promise to put you in a better mood. If you want, we can even make mud pizzas, I knew you liked to make those when we were kids." I laughed as I rememberd I really enjoyed that in my early years.
"That sounds like a really good plan!" I said and we headed for the garden. I tuned in my sister for a little bit to know what she is up to and she seemed to have a great time with some guy named Jarred. I smiled and hoped for the best, she deserved to be happy.
The garden usually had dim lights, but tonight there were spots of light everywhere, thousands of fireflies seem to have joined the party. The scenery was dreamy. The fireflies, the enchanting sound of crickets comming from the grass, the sweet smell of roses, everything screamed romance this evening.
"So, Bella, do you still secretly wear pants under your dress? You used to say to me that after your aunt dressed you up nicely, you would run to your room and got a pair of pants underneath. I always found that quite funny." Oh, I remembered wearing pants under my skirts in order to move freely, but I never thought someone noticed. I blushed.
"Nop. Not anymore."
"Can I check?" Ian said with a smile on his face that almost touched his ears. His question caught me off guard. I was shocked. How can someone I just met ask me that. Well technically I met him years ago, but I didn't quite remembered him, so it doesn't count. He must have seen my expression because he soon turned serious.
"I am sorry. I was just trying to make a joke. A bad one as I see now. You see, I kind of thought about you ever since we were kids, I had a crush on you. Please, forgive me. I promise I will behave. If you want me to, I could keep some distance between us while we walk."
I relaxed and took a sip of champagne. Ian wouldn't dare hurt me, my aunt knew his family very well.
"You're forgiven. But, just for the record, you wouldn't be able to handle me."
"That's what you think? Hah! It's a good thing you don't remember much of us playing together. You were very stubborn, you wouldn't listen to anyone when they told you to behave, to keep your shoes on and not run with your bare feet through the mud, eat or even go change your dirty clothes. So aunt Maya would ask me to pretend I'm hungry, or that I hurt my feet while playing barefoot. You would do everything I did. If I was hungry, you were hungry, If I hurt my hand, yours would hurt too. You were my shadow, as aunt and my mom said. I remember this one time, aunt Maya asked me to eat some cabagge soup, because you wouldn't eat. I hated the idea, but, because she asked, I tried to please her. You can't imagine how hard I swallowed every bite but you .. "
Ian was still telling his story when my eyes caught some movement, by the trees. My father, William and his companion, Gary I believe it's his name came out through the back door. My father looked exhausted and terrified. He was a mess.
"Don't discuss with anyone what I have just revealed to you tonight!" Dad said and walked inside the mansion.
My eyes caught William again and my heart started to flutter, faster and faster. This time his eyes met mine. As soon as I felt him staring at me, all I wanted was to go and grab his shirt, pull him and lick his lower lip before kissing him so passionate that he would want nothing more than to possess me right there on the spot. Again, I felt my n*****s tingle, and my entire body crave for his touch, for his lips on my skin.
I excused myself from Ian and started walking towards William. I think he mumbled something about not finishing his story, but I didn't care. I wanted to reach the source of my arousal. He was looking at me so intense that I knew he was expecting me. When I was very close to getting to William, his friend grabbed him.
"Come, William, we need to get our asses out of here. I checked out the party. There are mostly guys, so there is no chance for me to get some tonight." He took William's hand and dragged him. Will was still watching me as he got farther and farther away from me. I stood there on the spot until I couldn't see him anymore. My heart was broken. It ached for this strange man. What if I never see him again? What if he is my soulmate and I just missed the chance to find out?
