It had been just over a week since I drank Rowan's blood. He was made Alpha, but until he marked me, there was no Luna. I was glad I wasn't Luna yet. This meant that I could still run free for a while. By run free, I mean literally. I would run through the forest all day and night. You could call me a wild wolf at this point because no one had seen or heard from me since I bit Rowan.
At his Alpha ceremony, I sat at the very back of the crowd in the shadows of the trees. Rowan knew I was there, but no one else did. Because of dad being a vampire, I had no scent so no one could smell me. Rowan could feel me near by. I knew this because I had left my mark on him.
Speaking of my mark, it was different from both vampire and werewolf. Werewolves have long thick k9s where as vampires have long thin needle like fangs. My fangs were longer, thicker than a vampires fangs, but thinner than a werewolf's. They also had two points on each tooth. I guess that's what happens when you mix a werewolf and a vampire.
At this moment, I was sitting by a river. I was going to have to hunt soon, but that was only to satisfy my wolf. She craved a hunt, but I craved something much different. I wanted blood. "I've found you, my little hybrid." Rowan's voice came from behind me.
I had known he was coming from pretty far back. My hearing was greater than both vampire and werewolf. Doesn't help that his horse hates me so it's very loud. For example, right now it's using it's hoof to paw at the ground. "You know that thing doesn't like me, Rowan. Why do you insist on bringing it near me?" I linked him.
"He'll eventually have to get used to you. But that's not why a came to find you. I've gotten you a gift." I turned at looked at him. He didn't have anything with him, so I guessed it wasn't something small. "Come. I'll take you to where it is."
I nodded once to tell him that I would follow. He knew I would never get on his horse for the simple fact that it hates me. See, the horses that Rowan and his family owned, were used to being around werewolves. So myself being part vampire, scares them. Plus back when vampires couldn't erase memories, they would feed on livestock and horses.
As I followed him, his horse tried to kick me. I growled at it in warning. I was pretty far into vampire territory so it was a good run back to Silver Dagger pack lands. His horse was getting up in age as Rowan and it had the same birthday. Rowan had turned 20 so the horse was the same age.
I didn't know where he was taking me until I was almost there. I stopped dead in my tracks. "Rowan, why are we going to the stables?" I linked him.
"I have to put Adrian back in his stall. From there, I'll take you to your gift." He linked back. It was never good to talk while riding a horse. There's a high chance of biting your tongue off.
I narrowed my eyes at him, but continued to follow. Once that thing was locked away in it's stall, I shifted to my human form. Rowan handed me his sweater so that I could at least be covered. The shift between forms causes clothing to be torn to pieces. Lucky for me, I was rather small. See, Rowan is six feet tall, where as me, I was only four foot one.
Once I had his sweater on, which was really big on me by the way, I took Rowan's hand. He smiled and led me out to the back of the stables. I was about to ask him why were were here again, but he stopped in front of two beautiful mares. Each one had a baby with her. They looked no older than a few weeks. "Mayan and her sister Tiana had babies a few weeks ago. Pick one of the babies and it will be yours once it's ready to leave the mother." Rowan said.
"Rowan, you know horses don't like vampires. So I won't. They are beautiful, but they will not like me." I protested.
Rowan shook his head. "These mares were sent to the vampire kingdom when they were weened from my father's horse. They grew up there and now have their own young. The little ones were born with the help of vampires. They are perfectly fine with both werewolves and vampires."
I decided that I was going to trust Rowan's words. So I stepped closer to the mares and their young. There was a brown and white one standing next to Mayan, who was pure brown. Next to Tiana, who was pure white, a black and white socked one. Mayan had a colt and Tiana had a filly. I stepped closer to the colt, he reared up at me. He wasn't the one for me. I stepped back and went closer to the filly. She just stood there looking at me. I held out my hand to her. She came closer. "You, are mine." I spoke softly to her.
Mayan was taken away with her son and placed into a stall, but Tiana and her daughter stayed with me.
For a while I played and watched over my filly. "What are you going to name her?" Rowan asked.
"I'm not sure yet. I'll think of something for her."
I heard one of the stable hands hiss in pain, then, I smelled it. She had cut herself. I felt my fangs elongate. I groaned and covered my mouth and nose. "Bite me if you need to." Rowan held me still. He knew already that smelling blood meant I lost control. Not only was I going to have to learn to be a Luna, but I also had to learn to control my craving for blood.
Rowan and the vampire king had a meeting and decided that it was best that I tend Alpha school here for a week then go to vampire school the next week. Since I was a special case, I was attending both schools and a teacher would be assigned to me at each school so that I would never actually miss a lesson.
"I'm sorry Rowan.." I whispered as I sunk my fangs into his neck. It was the same spot every time. The marking spot. He moaned softly into my neck. I felt bad that I had to do this. Especially because I wasn't ready to lose my virginity yet. Every time I bit him, it became harder and harder for him to stop from forcing himself on me.
I released when I had my fill, which honestly wasn't that much. "Are you okay now?" He asked. His eyes showed that he was struggling against himself. I looked away and nodded. "It's alright. I can hold back. There's no need to feel bad. Okay?" He spoke softly as he turned my chin to face him.
"I best get going. Before someone else gets cut. Plus it's getting dark." Rowan nodded. He had offered to drive me home, but I shook my head and took his sweater off. Shifting back to my wolf form, I ran all the way back to my dorm room in the vampire territory.
The next morning, I woke up and started my day with my usual shower. After that, I got ready and headed out to my classroom. There were two others in my class. They too, were hybrids. They had the same schedule as I did. They would spend a week here, and a week in another territory learning about their other half.
I closed and locked my dorm room then turned to walk to the class, but I met with what felt like a brick wall. I held my nose. "Ouch.."
"Are you okay?" The vampire Prince himself stood in front of me.
"Yes, your highness. I'm fine." I bowed a little and went to go around him.
"Angelina, I've asked you to call me Simon. We are mates. No need to be formal about it." Simon wrapped his arm over my shoulders.
Yes. I was still tied to both Simon and Rowan through a mate bond. Even though I marked Rowan, Simon still felt the bond. Yes, Simon knows about the mark I gave Rowan. He told me that he felt connected to Rowan now.
"Yes, Simon. I'm fine. Please, let me go to class." He didn't leave me, but he walked me to my class and sat beside me. "Do you have to be here?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"Yes. I have to. Well, more like I want to. I still have to try and win you over. Even though you've already marked him."
The teacher walked into the room and looked at everyone, but once she saw Simon, she stopped and bowed. "I did not expect you to be here, your highness."
"Nonsense, Madame Sintary Please, continue on as if I was never here." Simon smiled at her.
She breathed a sigh of relief and continued on with what we were learning today. It droned on for so long that I started to actually fall asleep. "Ms. Angelina Valentine! Am I boring you?"
I jumped a little. "Sorry, Madame Sintary. I had a late night."
"A little less partying and a little more studying. You have an extra assignment tonight. I want it done and on my desk at nine am." She narrowed her eyes at me.
"Yes, Madame Sintary." I groaned internally. This woman was so boring to listen to.
