CHAPTER ONE
Tara heard the sound of shattering glass, the scream that followed and the eerie silence afterward. She ran quickly to open the door to the main entrance of the Casey's house, when she stumbled upon a scene that would haunt her forever.
She saw Casey crumpled on the ground. At first she thought he was drunk, but then she saw the blood. It was everywhere.
The killer stood over Casey, his eyes blazing with rage and a few blood stains on his grey shirt. Tara froze for a moment, her heart racing as she glanced up and locked eyes with the killer.
Tara's mind struggled to process the horror before her. The killer's face twisted into a snarl as he took a step towards Tara, he knew she had witnessed what happened.
Before he could take a second step, Tara turned and ran. Her feet pounded the pavement, with her lungs burning as she fled from the killer and four other men who joined the chase.
As his footsteps closed in, each heavy tread made her skin crawl. Tara's heart threatened to burst, as she began to get dizzy. The killer's roar of frustration echoed off the walls as he followed.
Tara knew she had to make it to the gate of the house at least. She reached into her purse to grab her phone, but as she did the killer's hand closed around her wrist. She struggled, and she broke free. The gate was closer now. But as Tara took another step, her feet gave out, and she slumped.
The killer dragged Tara into a van and shoved her inside, slamming the door shut. She kicked and screamed faintly but her cries were muffled. Then, her world went black.
Tara woke up alone in a small room. A small window which could almost fit the head of an average person, was the only source of ventilation and light which barely illuminated the room.
She laid on the floor, bound and gagged. Her eyes darted around the tiny room, searching for escape. She could hear footsteps outside the room, and after a while she heard people talking.
She tried to shout or make any form of noise she could in her restricted state, but when it seemed that her efforts were futile, Tara stopped and began to try as much as possible to cut the rope she was tied with.
Just then, the sound of someone opening the door to the room where Tara was kept from the outside echoed in the tiny space. As the door creaked open, the small dark room became very bright and Tara could faintly see the picture of four men.
Three of them were still in their werewolf form, while the last one appeared to have just transformed back to his human form, because his clothes were torn and tattered, with a few stains of blood.
Immediately, Tara recognized him as the werewolf from Casey's house who chased her. He was the one who killed her childhood friend with his bare hands. Realizing this, Tara struggled to free herself from the ropes and shouted words, which anyone could barely hear.
The killer signaled one of his men to remove the gag from Tara's mouth and as he did, she bit him instantly and he struck her.
“You murderer” Tara shouted at the killer, who she perceived to be the leader of the group. “You'll pay with your blood for what you did” she continued, not caring if she would be hit again by one of his men.
“Let me go” Tara screamed at him again, her voice echoing in the small room.
The killer bent down to Tara's level and let out a menacing chuckle, which sent chills down Tara spines. But she was determined to show no fear. “My father would………”
“Be quiet” He finally spoke, cutting Tara off. His voice was scarier than the look in his eyes.
“Your father would do nothing,” he growled. Getting annoyed by Tara's stubbornness, he grabbed her neck. Even if he recognized her as the Alpha’s daughter and only child, he showed no fear.
Tara was shaking now, if these men knew she was Alpha Rowan's only child and still treated her this way, what kind of power do they possess? She thought.
Even though she knew her father would have sent out a search party to look for her, Tara didn't know how long she's spent in the custody of these rogues.
“Who are you?” Tara asked him, hoping to get some answers. This time he had let go of her neck and was whispering something to his other men.
He directed his gaze at Tara and paused for a moment before answering her. “I'm Drew,” he said, relaxing his countenance.
“Why did you kill my friend?” Tara's emotions got the better of her as she shouted at Drew again. Incensed, Drew ordered his men to return the gag to her mouth. And afterwards, they left Tara alone in the room.
After a while, two of Drew's men returned, this time in their human form. They loosened the rope they bound Tara with and they also took away the gag.
Grabbing her by the hand, they pulled Tara up to take her out of the room.
“Where are you taking me?” Tara shouted defiantly, struggling to break free from the hold of the two men, but they were much stronger than she was. Despite that, Tara still struggled. She wasn’t planning on making life easy for her kidnappers.
“Where are you taking me?” she shouted again. This time, the men took the ropes, and bound Tara's hands with it. It wasn't an easy task as Tara screamed and kicked as they did.
“Where are we going?” Tara asked once again, as the men succeeded in tieing her hands.
Then one of them chuckled before he spoke, “you're getting married to Drew.”
