Tara was confused. What did she mean she was Drew's wife?
“What do you mean you're Drew's wife?” She asked, dropping the glass vase. The look on her face could show that she was very confused.
“I mean I'm Drew's wife” she retorted, cleaning her face with a towel.
Tara didn't know what to say. She was dumbfounded. “How?” was the next thing that came out her mouth.
“I got married to him of course” the woman said, looking at Tara with surprise, like she'd just asked a foolish question.
“Ohh, you must be the poor girl he just married,” she added, “I'm Ember by the way” she said, extending her hand to shake Tara.
Tara was still shocked. She looked at Ember with disgust. How could someone be happy and comfortable married to a man like Drew. She wasn’t even his only wife.
“How are you comfort living like this?” Tara asked out of surprise, ignoring the hand Ember stretched out to her.
Ember laughed long and hard, “you know I was once like you” she said, still laugh. “Don't worry, you'd get used to it.”
Tara was mad.
She stormed out of the room, slamming the door shut.
What did Drew put her through all this trouble for since he had a wife already.
Why did he marry her? What was her tormenting her for?
Tara felt like her head was about to explode, but she kept her cool and decided she was going to confront Drew.
She summoned courage and walked downstairs, towards where she'd heard his voice earlier, but he wasn't there.
She went back upstairs and started walking from one room to another, hoping to find him in one. She still wasn't informed of the room her “husband” stayed in.
Tara scoffed, as she still couldn't find Drew after checking all the rooms upstairs. She decided to return to her room and ask her co-wife for Drew's whereabouts.
When she got to her room, she opened the door and stuck her head in slightly.
“Do you know where he is?” She asked Ember, showing no emotion on her face.
“He should be in his study” said Ember smiling, she was already lying on the bed. “It's downstairs, the last door on the left, opposite the kitchen, you can't miss it” she added.
Immediately, Tara rushed downstairs. She had many things she wanted to say to Drew. Hurrying down the stairs, she headed to Drew's study. And without even bothering to knock, Tara burst in.
Drew was there. And without giving him a chance to digest her arrival, Tara started firing at him.
“You have another wife?” She screamed at him. “Why did you marry me then?” She asked again, without giving him opportunity to answer the first.
“Do you even…….?” Tara's outburst was interrupted. “Is that why you're here?” Drew asked calmly, cutting Tara off. He didn't seem too interested in what she was saying.
“Why are you tormenting me?” Tara continued, not caring if he answered he or not. She just wanted to get all the pain off her chest.
“You could've killed me and saved the both of us all the trouble” she shouted, letting her emotions get the better of her.
“Is that all, I have somewhere to be” Drew replied coldly. Tara's emotional outburst didn't seem to have moved him a bit. As he stood up and brushed past Tara, leaving her alone in the study.
Tara couldn't bring herself to move. Deep down she hoped she would be able to get some answers from Drew, but it looks like her husband doesn't want anything to do with her. Let alone, have a conversation.
Eventually, Tara walked out of the study, gently closing the door behind her. She was shaken, she needed to clear her head and she needed something to help her digest her new reality.
Alcohol.
She walked briskly to the fridge hoping to find at least a bottle of anything containing alcohol, but she didn't.
Tara cursed her luck.
She needed to clear her head badly, somehow and someway. So she decided to go out for a walk.
Running upstairs, she burst into her room, startling Ember. She quickly changed her clothes and left the room almost as soon as she entered.
Tara rushed out of the main entrance of the house, heading for the gate. Two guards approached her as she got close to leaving the compound, but she simply swept them aside and went outside.
Even though she could see three guards closely following her out of the corner of her eye, Tara felt a bit of peace as she left Drew's compound.
The thought of running away came to her. But Tara knew if she tried to, she would be apprehended by her stalkers in a matter of moments. And she might never step foot outside that compound again.
Tara's heart skipped a bit when she heard sound coming from the bushes. She looked around and saw nothing. Her mind appeared to be playing tricks on her.
In the blink of eye, a group of werewolves emerged out of the blue and ambushed the three men who were following Tara from a distance.
In an instant, the werewolves were done taking the men out and then they set course for where Tara was standing.
When Tara noticed the werewolves focused on her, and were heading towards her direction, she started running as fast as her feet could carry her.
Tara found herself in a familiar position as she tried her best to get as far as possible away from the werewolves.
But soon enough, they caught up with her and one of them hit her from behind, and she fell.
In a flash, they were all over her and she was hit with a powerful blow out of nowhere, knocking her unconscious.
Realizing she was out, they all stepped back and one of them who appeared to be their leader transformed into his human form.
Taking off Tara's clothes while his men watched, he bent down and r***d her.
