Diana's POV… "You need to rest," Lucian said as he found me hunched over my research materials at three in the morning. His voice was rough with exhaustion, but when his hand touched my shoulder, I felt that familiar warmth that always seemed to chase away some of the darkness. "I can't rest," I whispered, not looking up from the blood samples spread across the makeshift laboratory table. "Not while Damian is out there. Not while these wolves are still suffering." Lucian moved closer, close enough that I could smell his scent—pine and earth and something uniquely him that had always made me feel safe. "Diana, you've been at this for eighteen hours straight.
