30Vince drove back through the town, his mental engine revving even more than Benny’s, and arrived back at work on the tick of two o’clock. He called in his first patient and made himself take an interest in the anxious young woman with her headaches. As he was escorting her to the door, his desk phone jangled. ‘Yep?’ ‘It’s Rita, Vincenzo. Sorry to interrupt you but I’ve got Aisif around here for a wound dressing. Do you want to come and have a look?’ You bet! He headed around to the treatment room.
