Chapter 12 Blood in the Water Both Talon and Aggie lay on their backs on the cool stone floor to rest. The river seemed large, maybe more than sixty feet across. Talon lay still and listened to the water to learn all he could of the river in front of him. The water ran to the left of where they had entered and the current seemed strong. Somewhere downstream he could hear the thunder that he had been listening to all along. It was the sound of what could only be a waterfall or extreme rapid. Listening closer he realized that the same sound was coming from upstream as well. He reasoned that they must be in between the two falls, but not close enough to feel the spray from the upper one.
