CHAPTER 3 “Fuck.” The Alpha cursed under his breath, before standing from his chair. “Ready the men, and send word that all children and non warrior shewolves to stay indoors.” The Alpha commanded. The Beta nodded and ran off with the order, but before the Alpha walked out he turned to Chandra. “You’re not perhaps a warrior fighter?” The Alpha joked, but hoping deep inside that she was. But before Chandra could reply, he was already out of the door. Ready to fight off the intruders. “Warrior…” Chandra mumbled to herself, remembering the times of her and Aster sparing. Oh, how she missed her home. Chandra then arose from her seat and went out the door. Following the sounds of screams and yelling. Chandra found herself on the field taking in the scene. “Get away! Now!” Eric yelled at Chandra from across the field, running at top speed as he leaped into he’s wolf. Chandra was amazed, watching the large dark wolf attack many others that went nearby her. ‘Eric was strange.’ Chandra whispered. Chandra then started to walk into the field of violence, not one ounce of fear in her. Eric went into a frenzy at the sight. He didn’t want this, he would rather he’s beautiful mate be kept inside away from everything. Especially this fight. Chandra was then faced with a large wolf. Running towards her with hunger and hatred in he’s eyes. But she didn’t let the wolf’s eyes startle her. When the wolf came close, Chandra ready herself. And in a flash she was gone. She was so fast that it was as if she vanished from how quick she was. Chandra was now behind the wild wolf, only lightly tapping him with her index finger. The rouge began to cry in pain and fall in agony. The Alpha and many other warriors saw this and felt a new kind of power arise in their pack. Eric however felt distraught, for now all the rouges turned their attention on killing his mate. Taking vengeance on the rouges cry of agony. But like the last, Chandra took them all down at the speed of light. Causing them to lay in agony on the field ground. The pack warriors then took some into the cells for questioning as others were killed mercilessly. “How did you do that!?” “You’re amazing new girl!” “You got to teach me how!” “We should hangout sometime.” All the pack members came crowding around her, causing her to fill small. There was just too many of them, and they all spoke at once asking different questions. Chandra’s hands began to glow a white light out of anxiety. But soon went away when she heard him. “Enough!” The Alpha commanded. Causing the pack members to bow their head and walk back to their homes, and pack duties. Chandra let out a sigh, feeling relaxed once again. “Chandra, I want you in my office first thing after dinner.” The Alpha explained. Then he let out a full smile. Patting the girls shoulder. “You did good kid.” The Alpha praised the girl. Chandra smiled proudly, feeling happy that she could be of assistance. “Not bad, newbie.” Polly nodded as she punched Chandra’s shoulder lightly. Chandra watched Polly walk into the pack house, feeling a tinge of acceptance from the arrogant girl. “How- you know what? Never mind. Are you alright at least?” Eric asked Chandra, holding her shoulder and chin. Looking to see if there was even a scratch or mark that was out of place. “I’m fine.” Chandra smiled up at him. “Good.” Was all Eric let out, before walking away. Chandra felt a bit sad at his sudden leaving, but she shrugged it away. “Freak.” Sasha mumbled under breath, bumping Chandra’s shoulder as she made her way towards Eric. *********** After dinner Chandra felt more comfortable in her new surroundings. Everyone seemed to welcome her, especially the pack warriors. “The Alpha wishes to speak with you, in he’s office.” Beta Sam explained. Chandra only smiled and nodded. Taking her bare feet up the stairs. Towards the Alpha’s office. “Please, have a seat Chandra.” Chandra nodded, finding her seat once again. “What you did today was amazing, but sadly impossible. No one, not even the Alpha King himself could kill a wild rouge so swiftly an quick.” Chandra only felt confused. “King?” Alpha John nodded. “He leads all of us, including the other Alpha’s.” Alpha John then stood up, walking to he’s bookshelf. “Here.” He passed her a book about wolves. “I don’t know what you are, but I feel like your soul is connected to wolves somehow.” Chandra looked up at him, tilting her head. “It’s hard to question if you’re a witch or not, seeing that you don’t have a wolf.” Chandra’s felt her heart stop, feeling sadden by the fact she lowered her head in shame. She wasn’t like them. “But then again, witches can’t posses that much power without a vessel. And you don’t even own shoes let alone carry a vessel of power.” He said to himself. “But if you find a mate then that’ll stop all other theories for what you are.” He mumbled as he started to write down he’s theories. “Mate?” Chandra asked. “Yes, a mate. You know, your other half kid.” The Alpha began to scratch the back of he’s neck. “Like a soulmate, really. Meant only for you.” Chandra nodded. “Like Eric and Sasha?” Chandra mustered up to say. The Alpha nodded. “Exactly.” He smiled proudly. Chandra frowned at he’s proud smile. “Well, that’s enough of mate talk. Why don’t you go and get some rest. The Alpha King is coming tomorrow afternoon. I’m sure he’d want to speak to you.” Chandra nodded, leaving the room and finding her way back to her own room. Until she was grabbed by the wrist and pulled into storage room. “Eric?” Chandra asked, pulling her wrist away. Eric only nodded sheepishly. “I had to see you again.” But Chandra felt angered by he’s presence for some reason. Not really understanding why. Eric felt awkward under her glare, but he knew he was wrong. “We’re mates aren’t we.” Chandra said coldly. But Eric only looked sad from her words. ‘Does he not want to be my mate?’ Chandra thought feeling upset. ‘It’s because he loves that Sasha girl.’ She thought angered. Knitting her brows with a pout. “But you’re also mates with Sasha.” Eric nodded. “She’s really not that bad, if you get to know her. She’s really kind.” But Chandra only felt annoyed. “Wait. What’s that?” Eric asked, but Chandra hid it behind her back. “It’s mine.” Chandra said threateningly. Hiding the book behind her as she ran off. She knew there was something in the book of wolves, there had to be. A way to be free of a mate. That way she won’t feel these weird feeling and thoughts anymore.
