Voices from downstairs woke Teddy. "Bill, what brings you over so early in the morning?" he heard his mom say.
Tem heard Jesse's dad's voice. "Is Don here? I had the most fantastic thing happen at my house last night. He has to see this. I want his opinion."
Bill Buckley, a materials engineer, worked at a different university than Teddy's dad. He researched the development of new materials used in buildings and bridges. Don and Bill would sometimes spend the evening together, exploring each other's research. Don believed that Bill was one of the best in his field in the entire country, and that an idea in one field could often shed light in another.
