Chapter 6

307 Words
“Abbie, wake up!” As she opened her eyes, she saw Amanda standing at her door with her arms folded. “Amanda, it’s...” She reached for her phone and looked at the time. “8:15 in the morning.” “We need to talk.” “Later. I need more sleep.” “Abbie, come on... get up...” She heard James say from behind Amanda. “Okay okay, fine.” Groaning, she sat up and yawned. “Now, what do you guys want?” “Have you talked to Josh?” James ask with a concerned look on his face. “I haven’t.” “Abbie, it’s been two months.” “And?” “He’s reached out to you, but you didn’t respond.” “I don’t have anything to say to him, James. Why would he care?” “Because your his wife.” “Soon to be EX wife.” “The divorce would’ve been done if you really wanted one, Abbie.” She shook her head. Maybe James was right. He reached out to her numerous times, wondering where she was and begged me to respond. Hell, could he maybe have forgiven her? Maybe he took a second look at the photo and noticed that it was photoshopped. Maybe. Regardless, life goes on. Josh doesn’t belong in hers. He goes from saying how badly he misses her to anger, thinking that she’s cheating on him with another man. She loved him but she needed to make a change. The phone call to her lawyer was already done. He was to contact Josh’s, making it 100% official that it’s over with him. Period. She could do better than him.
