Chapter Eleven - Visit

849 Words
Luka's POV After our meeting, my dad kicked me out so he could genuinely discuss more security measures and how to approach the situation with Hell Moon. I walked out to the kitchen to where the women were having tea. My mom and Serenity's mom were both talking to her, along with my step-mom Kya and Dylan, our Delta's mate, Zoey. I sat next to Serenity and any stress I felt about the situation easily melted away as I held her hand. The moms were all eyeing us now that they knew we were dating. My dad, Seth and Dylan came out of the meeting room. Erika was on her way, and would be here any moment, according to the phone call they'd just received. Serenity tensed up next to me and leaned in close to whisper. “What if she can't get it off?” Serenity whispered. “She can.” I said. I patted her hand to reassure her. We chatted all together for a few minutes. Someone asked how long Serenity and I had been dating and we answered that it hadn't been long. Her parents filled everyone in on the situation if they hadn't already been aware, and Seth pulled Makayla to the side to fill her in that I was Serenity's mate. A knock at the door told us Erika had arrived. My father answered. Erika was standing there in long robes, looking every bit the high priestess that she was. She came inside with a few assistants with her. “This is Alex, he is my partner and a dark priest. He was born into dark magic but only uses his powers for good. If the bracelet was not made with light magic, we may need him to step in.” Erika said. Alex was tall with blonde hair and a nervous smile. Erika introduced us to the other girl with her who was also a high priestess and an extra set of hands if needed. “Okay, let's take a look at you dear.” Erika and her team approached Serenity and I. Serenity held out her arm, showing them the bracelet. Serenity recapped the story for them and showed that she couldn't even get a finger in under the bracelet. Erika and Alex both held their hands under the bracelet and then looked at each other. “It can't be.” Alex said. “She would never live with wolves.” “What?” Serenity asked nervously. “The woman who made this bracelet. I know her. She's a dark mage. Usually mages will never live with wolves, let alone mate with one. Her son must also have some kind of powers. He definitely has seen your every move and could find you at any time. Thankfully, I can easily remove it and it's effects. The downside is they will know it's been removed. They may decide to attack, so I would have the pack ready.” Alex explained. He went to work on removing the bracelet and eventually did. Serenity seemed relieved but the tension from everyone else was heavy. We were afraid of what may come. “We will investigate this and ensure this mage understands that this is not an appropriate use of her powers. We hope she will teach her son better. We will be sure to pay them a visit or two.” Erika ensured. After the excitement was over and Erika left, we still needed to all talk about our next move. We were vulnerable. An Alpha's son with a mage for a mother wanted Serenity. We knew the pack would be brainwashed to believe Kale's true mate was here and they would come to retrieve her at any cost necessary if asked. We didn't know what we were up against. We were the larger pack but didn't have any special advantages. “Serenity, I think it's best if you stay home from school for a while and away from him.” My father said. “Your dad and I will personally guard you at all times.” “I agree. I think you should be at home.” I said. “What about you? You don't think Kale will come after you?” Serenity said. “I don't think he will attack me at school. I'm not concerned about on the way home, either. I am a true Alpha's son. My bloodline is an Alpha bloodline. His father was a chosen Alpha, not a blood Alpha. I'm stronger than him and could easily fight him if he was alone.” I said. “It's too easy for him to get you alone at school or cornered in a position where you won't be able to speak up about what's really going on and get you into another bracelet or worse, take you off school grounds without anyone noticing too much.” I explained. It was true. If he took Serenity off school grounds, it would seem innocent enough to the humans. No one would be able to save her without obviously tipping off the humans. We agreed on Serenity staying home. I didn't think Kale would go after me or any of her siblings, so I wasn't worried about that. He only wanted her.
