Days turned into weeks, and the tension between me, Jace, and Alpha Kaiah grew. I had been sleeping in Rowena’s room, doing my very best to avoid Jace. I spent most of my time helping out in the kitchen if it meant I got to stay far away from him and his undressing gaze. Alpha Kaiah was seldom around. I may have seen him just once, but that was because I stayed up really late. He was mostly in the woods, away from the pack, which I understand since he is not part of us. But still, I wondered why he was still here after everything he was put through by Jace and the pack members.
