Wild Run

839 Words
Sebastian's POV After dinner, everyone started to get ready for the run. It was a full moon tonight which meant that the whole pack goes for a run together along the grounds. I quickly stripped my clothes and shifted to my wolf form. Damien is a large, black wolf with black eyes. While my brother and father are much larger than me in human form, their wolves do not compare to Damien. When I first got my wolf, my dad thought about stripping the title of alpha heir from my brother and giving it to me. I made it clear that I did not want it. I never will want it. So the thought of me being Alpha left my dad's brain as fast as it entered. It sure would be nice if our mate was here. I wonder what her wolf's name is. You should ask her tomorrow after class. Please? "Shut up!" I yelled at him. We aren't sure she's our mate, and she didn't smell like a werewolf. Stop getting your hopes up." I could feel Damien's excitement be replaced with sadness. He has wanted to find our mate so badly. I want to find her too, but I mostly want to find her for Damien. He needs his mate. "I will talk to her again tomorrow and try to get more info on her." I felt him wag his tail like an excited Chihuahua and howl. As we were running and crossing the creek that was close to the north side, we heard the sirens start to go off. Dad then linked with us to tell us that rogues have entered our territory close to the north side. Lila, Theo's mate, turned back with some others to protect our kids. Theo and I raced to the border where the rogues were reported. Once we got there, about twenty rogues were fighting against our men. Theo immediately went to face the largest rogue. My dad was fighting another large rogue next to James. I saw one of the rogues about to rip into one of our younger pack members and charged at him. We tussled to a rolling stop, and I tore into his neck. Suddenly I felt sharp claws in my back. I threw a smaller rogue off of my back and against a large tree. His body went limp. I looked around to see the c*****e. Three of our men had to be hospitalized, but the rest of us were okay. Thankfully Mom is able to heal me since I don't have a mate. About five of the rogues fled, and fourteen others died. The one I threw against the tree is alive and in the dungeon. I'm just glad that we all made it out alive. We regrouped at the pack house in Dad's office. "Sir, the wolves were able to get onto our property completely undetected. Thankfully one of our men saw them and reported it immediately. We are currently questioning the rogue in the dungeon on how they were able to slip past all of our defenses, but he isn't offering any answers," James said with a hint of fear in his voice. My father is a kind man unless the safety of his pack is in question. "Well, I guess I need to go see him." He slammed his fist in the desk and stormed out of his office. Theo quickly followed my father, excited for the opportunity to get physical with a rogue again. "Did the rogue have anything in him? Anything that can give us clues as to how they got in or where they're from?" I asked James before he also followed my father. "All the rogues had necklaces like this one. We are unsure what it does and why they had it. You can keep that one. We have many more in the morgue," he said with a wink. He placed a necklace that had a small, greyish white stone pendant on it. I had no clue what kind of stone this was, but I was determined to figure out what the necklace meant. The next day I went to work. I had a scratch across my cheek from the fight the night before. I asked mom to heal it, but she refused. "It'll make you look tough for your mate." she said. If it wasn't life threatening, then it was there to appeal to my mate according to my mother. I drove into work and sat in my car. About ten minutes later, the same red convertible I had watched the day before pulled into her parking spot. I watched her get out of her car and grab her school stuff. I then saw her tuck something under the collar of her turtleneck. I watched her walk to the sidewalk that led to the building. She watched the ground as she walked and didn't speak or look at anyone who passed her. Who is Sage Allenster? Why does she avoid everyone? Why is she alone?
