King Bautista had four sons and two daughters.The eldest , Prince Forsythe had two wives,the eldest wife had two sons while the second wife had a beautiful daughter.
Carmen was the second prince,the third prince also had two wives and four children.The last prince was still too young to get married.
"Princess Selena are you well?"Prince Forsythe asked,he was so kind and friendly.
"Yeah"
"You spent a night with him and you are like this so lucky he didn't eat you alive"Princess Alana spoke.
She was the first and only daughter of the king,she was gorgeous but rude.I was quite younger than her I knew.
"So sad.You don't deserve him, he's a demon"
King Bautista cleared his throat and she held her peace.
After breakfast,a young woman approached me,she introduced herself as the Crown prince concubine.Her name was Yvonne.
"It's nice to meet you"
"All eyes are on you because you are the second prince wife . trust no one"She spoke and l nodded .
"if you have any question.you can come and ask me.My residence is at the east side"
"Thank you"
"Yvonne,call me Yvonne"She offered with a smile.
"Sure"I bowed slightly and watched her walk away majestically.
"Let's return to the palace"I spoke softly.
When we returned back, Carmen was nowhere in sight l was relieved as l sat down on my bed weeping.
So this was my fate ,sealed in a marriage without love till death.For how long would this thing go on?l needed to find some thing that would make me happy and forget all my pains and sorrows.
Carmen walked in that instant and l quickly cleaned my tears.
"Carmen"l called boldly "I....have something to tell you"
He turned to my direction "And what is that?"
"I...... belong...to another"l paused,not thinking straight.
His eyes changed immediately,l knew that he was not happy "So how does that concern me?"
"I agree to obey all the rules and regulations and act before the royal family that l am not having any trouble or problem with you"
"Soooo........... ....
"So.....l want you to provide a house for me .l wish to use it for something personal and l want it built on the outskirt of the town.l ask that you do not request what l wish to use it for"
He was quiet "Fine"he gave a sharp reply.
I sighed heavily.
Winter came in ,she must have seen him leave.
"My princess l overhead your request"
"Since things are like this l will have to use it to my advantage"
Winter nodded.
Carmen came in and Winter took her leave.
"Tell me,when l gave you the chance to leave you chose to stay and now you are planning to run away"
"No,l just want to be.....forget about it"I was careful with my words.
"Are you scared of me?"
"Yes....you are so scary.......l cannot stay with you"
"Then stay as far as you can from me"his eyes closed and he fell down.
I was startled and l hesitated before going closer to him.
"Carmen"l called but got no reply .
"is he dead?"
Winter ran in.
"What happened?"She asked .
"I don't know.He just fell down and that was all"
"Good for him"Winter spoke.
"Shh........how can you say that?"l touched his neck and gosh he was burning hot.
"Winter help me,let's put him on the bed"
After we laid him down,l unbuttoned the first button in his shirt he was sweating profusely.
"Winter get me a bowl of water and a cloth"
"Sure princess"
I watched him.l became curious.it was said that he was cursed from birth but why.it was strange.
As l wanted to touch his face his eyes opened immediately making my heart skip.
He grabbed my hand immediately and pushed me away.l fell to the ground and l watched him transform into a beast .
His eyes turned red,fangs out,lips dark and fingers longer.
"please don't hurt me......."l cried out.
He growled and then became quiet.l was frightened that l almost pee on myself.
He wiped my face harshly and that was all.
Carmen was true to his words and built a house for me before my week in the palace was over.We barely talked or spent time together only on rare occasions and he was hardly around.
At those times l wondered where he had gone to.
The relationship between Carmen and l became less rigid with time .
The thought of being given to a monster were not longer in my mind for once my mind was at peace.
One night,l came back from my new place and found him in the room .l cared less about him and wanted to walk away when he stopped me.
"You are late"
"I didn't prepare on time and l forgot my cloak l had to go back for it.''
He stood up and walked to where he stood .l took quick light steps back till my back touched the nearest wall.
"You entered a convenant with me and so your life,l am quite concerned about it"he spoke softly in my ears and bit my ear as l winced in pain.
"Please Carmen,let's live in peace.l would serve you with all my heart"
"Oh you have a heart you think you can lie to me.l can read minds that's one of my gifts and l have just told you because you are partially a part of me"
"Nooooo........
He walked away leaving me in tears.l fell down crying and cursing.it was just so hard to be around him.
He was normal in daytime but a beast at nightfall.
I woke up late in the morning and quickly got up to have my bath.
Winter came to inform me that the Prince had been summoned by the King to another errand to another kingdom l was happy.
Later that day,a palace guard came in with three maids.
"Princess,these are your new maids given to you by the Queen "
"Really?"l glanced at Winter who was standing by my side.
I agreed reluctantly "Fine,l appreciate her kind gesture and would come to see her later"
"Sure princess"the guard walked away.
"Good day princess"the maids chorused.
"Rise please"l spoke and l went inside.
I ordered the maids to arrange everywhere especially the bedroom while Winter and l took a stroll around and we came face to face with the lady in the garden the other time.
I noticed that she was beautiful and Did not dress like other servant.She walked past me majestically.
"She's not a good person Princess"Winter mumbled.
FORSYTHE POV.
I could not stop thinking about Carmen's wife.she was beautiful and her fair skin radiated like the morning sun with her blonde hair.l wondered how she was coping with that monster.
"My Lord,are you alright?"Yvonne asked.
She just walked in.
"Sure and why are you here?'',he was not happy seeing her.
Yvonne noticed this"i was expecting to see you in my chamber as you promised but you didn't show up"
I became more annoyed "Does that give you the right to show up and remind me?"
"Forgive me my Lord"She quickly apologised in order to avoid his wrath.
I ignored her and spoke again"I am busy with some court issues and would meet you later"
"Sure my Lord l shall take my leave now"
She walked away.
"Melo"l called.
Melo was my trusted guard.He ran secret errands for me.
"Any news from my brother?"
"No your highness"
I smirked, this was a perfect chance for me.l wanted that monster out of the way.He was like a thorn in my flesh.
"Good.go to the West palace and keep an eye on his wife.Report immediately"
