Chapter 4: Training

1082 Words
I awoke as sunlight warmed my face, feeling its heat on my skin. I reached for the pillow and covered my face, trying to block out the warmth creeping up my arms and body. The heat seemed intent on rousing me from sleep. Had I forgotten to cover the window last night? I asked myself, growing increasingly irritated. "Get up, ugly duckling. Training is about to start," a voice startled me, causing me to fall onto the ground from my bed. My butt throbbed with pain from the fall. "W-what are you doing here?" I exclaimed, hastily covering my body. I was only wearing a shirt and thin pajamas, and he could see my underwear. "You have nothing to hide since you fell asleep; I saw everything," he boasted, still smirking. I was so embarrassed that I screamed. He had seen me. I couldn't believe that a perverted vampire existed. I didn't know that someone like him was standing in front of me, watching me while I slept. I grabbed anything I could find and threw the lamp at him, but because he was a vampire, he easily caught it. He tried to grab the other objects, but because of the sheer number of things I was throwing, he couldn't avoid them and got hit. "Hey! Stop it! You're going too far!" "You're going to die!! I'll kill you, you p*****t!!" Gray is really embarrassing. UNICE "Do you think... what Jiniva saw about Gray and Crest will happen?" I asked Rafael, who was leaning against the wall outside Crest's room with me. We listened to them argue. "I don't know, but I think it's just starting to happen," Rafael smiled at me. We couldn't help but believe Jiniva because what she sees is correct and realistic. "I thought we could also bring Crest into Levathian and not lock her up here at home," Rafael suggested, still smiling. "Maybe I feel that she's becoming a Vampire because she's about to turn 18," I said, pulling Rafael to the opposite side of Crest's room. I couldn't help but wonder... why did Gray watch over Crest all night last night? I think I'll have to talk to him later. We are Vampires, not dogs. CREST I was leaving my room when I remembered that I had to wear Lucresia's necklace, because that thing is also important to me. When I put on the necklace, I felt like Lucresia was still with me, watching over me. I went to the garden of the mansion because Gray said we were going to practice there before Unice called him. As I left the Mansion, my eyes widened. I felt like I was in a faraway land. The house of the Rempires no longer looked like a Mansion but like a Castle. I stopped walking when I felt something. It seemed strange... I immediately jumped to my right. I felt something suddenly explode there. I rolled unexpectedly on the grass. It looked like I still hurt my knee. I turned to the person who was applauding. A Vampire woman, and I had just noticed her now. "What I saw was right. You will get stronger. But you already feel so strong, huh?" She said. I immediately pulled out my dagger and prepared it for her. "Who are you?" She smiled before raising her hands. "Ok! Stop it, I'm Jiniva Empress, cousin of Gray and Lorenz. Sorry if I did that. I just wanted to challenge you, ok?" She smiled at me with a wink. "What happened?!" We were surprised to see Gray in front of me. "Wow, just wow Gray? Seriously? I just saw you rush, Hahahaha! I can't believe that it's already happening," said Jiniva. I didn't understand anything she was saying. "Shut up, Jiniva! The explosion was so loud, I thought the Kings had attacked us." Jiniva stopped laughing and suddenly her face became serious. "Of course not, they haven't executed their plan yet. I have already taken care of them." I was afraid of what she said. It was also taken seriously. "Oh well, I just wanted to meet Crest, good luck" She immediately left while laughing. "She is crazy... she almost killed me!" I protested. "Never mind her." "Hey Gray, What's the first thing we're going to do?" He looked at me. He still grinned. His face just looked like he was going to do something mischievous. "Let's start." .... "GRAY! WHAT KIND OF TRAINING IS THIS?!?!" I protested. Throwing a dagger at the red circle carved on the tree can't be called training. "Hit the Red Dots! You haven't even hit them once and yet you keep on complaining?!" he said, annoyed. "I'm so far away, I can't even reach the target! I'm not a vampire. This is ridiculous." "Guess you won't leave here until you get a hit. Think of the enemy you want to hit with the dagger and forcefully hit it." I nodded. I think I need to concentrate. I took five daggers. I observed the different trees with red dots. He told me to think that what I need to hit are my enemies. I closed my eyes and focused. The old trees are all vampires. I held the dagger carefully before throwing it at a vampire who killed my grandfather. I ran to a tree near the first tree. I threw the second and third daggers at the vampire that chased Lucresia and me. I also chased the other four and threw them with a dagger. I spun around before forcefully throwing the dagger at the last vampire that killed Lucresia. I closed my eyes again and when I opened them, the vampires were trees again and all the daggers were stabbed at the red dots. "See? You can do it, you've done a lot of acting before getting serious," said Gray. But there was no emotion on his face. "It's good that you followed me," he said with his eyes closed. "Because you're the one I thought about. Even in my imagination I rewarded you! I'm good, aren't I? I'm really cool!" I bragged. Gray stood up before picking up five more daggers. He threw stones at them at the same time and all the daggers I threw went into the tree and were replaced by Gray's daggers. "So easy," he said with a smirk. I felt so annoyed that my right hand wanted to shave him. Alas! If you weren't a teacher, you might have gone bald.
