Melissa, a twenty six year old spinster was working as a Secret Agent at the Criminal Investigation Department, and she always scaled through all her investigations. She never really gave time to her social Life, all she cared about was her Career. She had a very close friend by name Hilda Taylor and they worked together in the same department at the Cop Shop. It's Saturday and Melissa was on Leave, she went to the garden to do her daily Workout. As she was jogging, she received a call from Hilda Melissa: Hey girl, what's up? Hilda: I'm almost done for today so I thought to tell you that I will like to come over for dinner Melissa: you are always welcome to my place, you need not inform me before coming Hilda: Okay Girl, i'll be on my way by evening, so what's for dinner? Melissa: Scrambled eggs and Pizza will do right? Hilda: sure, I can't wait to get that down my throat to Tummy town Melissa: you know you easily get Dyspepsia, I'll not take you to the hospital, this time around your faith will speak for you Hilda: blah blah, I didn't hear you say anything, alright I'm hanging up see you later Melissa: Bye (She hung up and started jogging again) Melissa finished her workout then she went to the Bathroom to shower, she put on a white T-shirt and a blue short then she wore her flip flops and headed to the kitchen to prepare Breakfast for herself. She baked the pizza and made the Scrambled eggs, she carried it in a tray to the Coffee table at the Sitting room. Melissa turned on the Flat screen and sat down on the couch to have her Breakfast and watch a movie, as she was eating, it started raining outside , she shut all the Venetian blinds and lighted the Fireplace, by then they had already seized the light, Melissa cleared her plates and she put them in the Dishwasher. Then she picked a random Magazine from the book rack and sat on the Recliner to glance through it when she heard a knock on the door, she opened the door and Hilda zoomed in dripping wet and shivering Melissa: you said you will come during the evening, how come you are here now? Hilda: so you're not happy to see me (starts sulking) Melissa: I didn't mean it that way, you shouldn't have entered the rain, what if you get Pneumonia? Hilda: ohh am sorry but I was not doing anything at the office, the rain started on my way to your House, I really need to change my dress right now Melissa: let's go to my room Melissa escorts Hilda to her Bedroom then she gives her a bathrobe from her Chest of drawers and leads her to the bathroom Hilda: I'll have a hot shower, change into the Bathrobe and meet you at the living room Melissa: no problem if you need anything just call me Hilda: sure thing Melissa leaves for the sitting room, She places an order for Pizza, scrambled eggs and white wine, she sets the dining table immediately. After some minutes, Hilda comes downstairs and joins Melissa to eat. Melissa: I'm sure you finished my soap madame Hilda: and what if I did? Melissa:?it's not your fault (she observes Hilda's thin body) you look cadaverous you know? don't you eat? Hilda: it's not my fault, my last mission for the past few weeks you haven't been in was very hectic.I had to work as a Cleaner at this Company to get some info about the owner who is a suspect for the Neal diamond theft at the Museum in Montenegro. Melissa: so what was the outcome? positive yeah Hilda: yeah He was the one, he has already been arrested, the DPO asked me to rest for two weeks then we will both resume together for a new mission Melissa: woah, that’s nice. But then People are very callous, what did that Man gain from stealing the Neal Diamond, now he’s been locked up, I hope he turns a new leaf Hilda: I hope so too (gathers her plate) the meal was appetizing, thanks Sweetheart. Melissa: you’re welcome chéri (just then the light came up) ohh finally, just put the plates inside the Dish washer, I need to go shower (she packs her French braids and heads upstairs) Hilda washed the dishes and placed them on the draining board, then she got her things from the Living room and took them to the bedroom. Lissa had already showered and changed so she helped her with arranging her things in the En-suite and handed her a spare night wear Hilda: why Lissa, this gown looks so big Melissa: why didn’t you bring yours? Hilda: I packed my things hurriedly so I forgot to put that Melissa: that’s more reason you should accept whatever you see without grumbling Hilda: Really! Really! Seriously! Melissa: whatever ( she climbs the Four poster bed and turns to sleep) when you are ready to sleep you join me Hilda: (hisses and climbs the Bed, she uses the duvet to cover herself, and soon enough she drifts off to sleep) The next morning, Lissa had an appointment so she got up early to prepare, she showered, dressed up and made her hair into a French pleat. She picked out a Stiletto Heel and a Clutch bag which she dropped on the futon. Then She proceeded to doing her makeup. Hilda was still asleep when Melissa finished up, so lissa woke her telling her that she was on her way out Hilda: why are you disturbing my beauty sleep? Melissa: it’s past Seven in the morning Blurt Hilda: why are you all dressed up? Going somewhere? Melissa: yeah I have an appointment with Adrian He’s been asking to see me before I went on leave, let me go and know what he wants Hilda: (laughs out loud) you already know what he wants Lissa, try giving him a chance Melissa: it’s not about what he wants, it’s about what I want, and besides I don’t mix business with pleasure. I already prepared a bath for you, find something to eat in the kitchen, I’m off Hilda: okay…… by what time will you be back Melissa: I can’t tell for now, whenever the meeting ends Hilda: okay then take care Melissa picked her Clutch bag from the Futon, put on her heels and left the house. She boarded a Single decker going to the Cafe. She got there in about thirty minutes. Then she walked into the Cafe, dialing Adrian’s number at the same time Melissa: I just got here I’m inside the Cafe Adrian: ohhh I can see you Adrian hugged Lissa but she pushed him away slightly, he apologized and took her to the seat he reserved for their meeting. They sat down while He called the waiter so they could place their order. Melissa ordered Milkshake and meat rolls while Adrian ordered Coffee Adrian: I’m sorry for earlier, I was excited to see you I didn’t know you will honor my invitation Melissa: that’s not a problem. So what do you want? Adrian: I want to give you something ( he brings out a box containing a Medallion and a Brooch and hands it to her) Melissa: (She pushes the box back to him) I’m sorry but I can’t accept this Adrian: but why? It’s just a harmless gift from me Melissa: Today is not my birthday, I’m neither your girlfriend nor your wife. So why will you want to give me a gift? Adrian: Lissa you mustn’t be one of those for me to give you a gift. And I told you already so why are you acting surprised, it’s normal to want to gift the woman I like Melissa: first of it’s Melissa to you, then secondly how many times do I have to turn you down, I’m not in for any relationship, I am a full time career woman, I don’t mix business with pleasure and I don’t want anything to crash all my hard work, I don’t like you so please let me be Adrian: I understand you I really do but please don’t reject these gifts, just take them and see me as a friend, I’ll really appreciate it (he pushes the gifts back to her) Melissa: I’ll accept these on a condition that you’ll never disturb me again Adrian: okay I won’t ask you out again Melissa: we have a deal then (She puts the box into her Clutch bag) don’t call me out again unless it’s Office related. (Gets up to leave) Adrian: (stops her) you didn’t even touch your snack, at least eat something Melissa: but it’s my choice to not eat that (She calls the waiter and pays for their order) it’s my treat, I’ll be on my way then Adrian had deep feelings for Melissa and he tried his best to capture her heart but nothing he did ever worked. They were Colleagues at the Cop shop, Melissa never payed any attention to him, although she honored most of his invitations, it was for Protocol sake, she was always blatant whenever they had a meeting but Adrian wasn’t ready to back down, he was happy that She accepted his gifts this time and he vowed to keep trying till he succeeds. Melissa boarded a Bus back to her Estate, she got home and lay on the Recliner at the Living room. Hilda was making lunch when Lissa came in, she came out to meet her Hilda: welcome chéri, how did it go? Melissa: this time he gave me gifts (She brings out the box from her bag) Hilda: (admires the gifts) they are so beautiful, does this mean you finally accepted his Proposal, Adrian is a nice guy you know Melissa: what Proposal? I only accepted the gifts on a condition that he will never disturb me again Hilda: sometimes I think that there is really no difference between you and a Raconia. Adrian is handsome, rich, responsible and caring, what else do you need in a Man? And you’re just going to throw him to the wind like that? Melissa: sure why not, I’ll freshen up quickly and come join you Hilda: okay then I’ll go dish out the food Melissa went upstairs while Hilda went into the kitchen to finish up with the cooking, She set the dining table, then she cried some eggs to go with the White Rice and laced the on the table, she filled the Water jug and went to get Lemonade from the Fridge. Melissa was already down when she came back. Melissa: Bébé this meal looks very appetizing, can’t wait to dig in, you got nice culinary skills Hilda: thank you, I got some Lemonade, or do you want a different Juice? Melissa: No dear let’s use this, I think that’s the last one, I’ll get more when I go shopping during the weekend Hilda: No problem (sits down to eat) They are in silence and Lissa cleared the plates later on. Hilda was on her phone in the living room so Lissa joined her, She sat down on the Sofa and turned on the Flat screen.
