Chapter 12

853 Words
Yukino scurried through the forest, knocking and pushing away the branches and leaves out of her way. She didn’t realize that Kami was not following her and just realized her presence when the dumb, idiotic book knocked into her back, nearly causing her to fall flat on her face. “Kami!” Yukino scolded with a frown on her face. She scowled at the poor book who felt that she just ran a marathon to catch up with Yukino. [Sorry, sorry.] Kami breathed out. [My bad, wasn’t watching where I was going, but it’s not like I have eyes…] the last part was not meant to be heard but Yukino wouldn’t be Yukino if she didn’t hear it. Giving Kami a disapproving look she glanced around before she pulled up her holograms. Looking at the trail she had marked she and Kami once again starting running. Or in Kami’s case, floating. Soon they arrived at the clearing of the forest and finally managed to take a breather, since if they ever tried approaching the tents, breathing like they swam 500 miles, they would immediately be caught the moment they step into a meter radius of any guards. After a minute, Yukino’s breathing calmed down and she silently scrambled to her brother’s tent. She slipped through the tent flaps and approached the bed where her brother, Taiyo, laid.  “Geez, this reminds me of Sleeping Beauty…” Yukino said with a smile. “But I ain’t gonna give you a kiss.” Yukino said with a playful scoff. Her eyes turned serious within a second. “I wonder… why… why did I transmigrate as Yukino? A villain…” Yukino silently stared at her sleeping brother who showed no sign of waking up. His skin was pale with red spots all over the body. The lips were a unhealthy blue. He looked dead. If it were not for the slight rising and falling of the chest, Yukino would have for sure thought he was dead. Clenching her hands together into a tight fist as she leaned in and patted her brother’s head full of black locks.  “Now..” Yukino turned around to Kami who was floating in the air watching her master. “How do I heal my brother?” [You’re missing some materials.]  Yukino looked at Kami with a narrowed gaze that clearly said, why didn’t you tell me earlier? Kami gave a shrug. Well as much as a shrug as a book can give, but Yukino and been with Kami long enough to decipher her actions. “Crap!” Yukino closed her eyes in frustration. “I can help you with that.” A melodic voice came from the entrance of the tent. Yukino jerked her head over, afraid that she had been caught, but she was shocked to see the heroine of the otome game, standing there, as if she had been watching the entire time. “Sakura…” Yukino said looking at the girl with eyes that were narrowed in warning. “I come here with no ill intentions, but to help you heal your brother.” The young girl held her hand up and opened her palm, revealing plants of all variety.  [They’re the ones! The rest of the materials needed for the cure!] Kami told Yukino excitedly. Yukino’s eyes narrowed, how does she know what the cure was? [I don’t know but I sense no bad intentions from her.] Kami said, knowing the inner turmoil in Yukino. She hesitated before she finally stepped aside. It was a silent approval. Sakura smiled before she stepped forward. As she walked by Yukino, Yukino handed Sakura the flower.  Yukino silently watched as the girl quickly went to work. Pulling a item out of nowhere and started to grind all the herbs and plants together.  Yukino placed a barrier to prevent any sounds from escaping the tent and allow her to know when anyone would be approaching. Sakura was efficient and quick and within an hour she finished the cure. Sakura have it to Yukino as she stared at the tiny bottle in her hand. [That’s it!] Kami said excitedly. Yukino stared at the bottle that probably only held about 100ml.  That’s it? She asked Kami telepathically. [Yes! Just pour the liquid in your brother’s mouth and within a day the poison will completely be disposed of.] Yukino went up to her brother and gently poured the liquid into her brother’s mouth. Soon the bottle was empty. “It’ll take awhile before the antidote will take effect. I suggest you to return to your tent before someone finds you are missing.” Sakura said before she turned around and disappeared. Yukino glanced at her brother before she too followed, releasing the barrier. Unknown to her, a set of sorrowful eyes was watching the entire thing.
