Kevin knew Chase meant it, but he still couldn't help protesting, "But she is Mommy…"
"I said she's not!"
Kevin went frozen as he noticed how serious his dad was, not daring to talk back.
Mr. Smith suddenly reminded Chase, "Sir, Miss Fox is here."
Before Chase could ask anything, Susan had walked in, her high heels clicking against the floor, "Chase… What happened?"
She just heard that Chase was yelling, so she decided to check him out. The boy had always been Chase's most precious son. She wondered why he was mad at him. But Kevin was a mannerless brat anyway. She also thought he needed to be taught a lesson.
"Nothing. Why are you here?"
"A project in my dad's company needs your help. Do you have time?"
Chase turned around to face the woman before him. She had used every effort to approach him, trying to be Mrs. Dalton. If he gave her a chance, she would try so hard to prove herself. Kevin just mentioned that he wanted to go to the kindergarten. He didn't have the time to drive him there and pick him up every day. Maybe he could give her a chance, "Susan, I actually also have a favor to ask. I wonder if you have any spare time…"
Susan looked a bit stunned. She had never expected Chase to have something asking from her… She was thrilled to be blessed by this opportunity.
"What is it, hun? You know I'm always more than willing to help!"
"I'm pretty busy tomorrow morning. Could you send Kevin to the kindergarten for me?"
Susan looked a bit disappointed. She thought she could finally spend some time with Chase, but he was asking her to send Kevin…
"What? You'll be busy at then?" Chase noticed the change on her face, so he asked.
"No, I won't be busy," Susan smiled, "You know I always treat Kevin as my own, Chase."
"Good. What was the project you mentioned before?"
…
When Susan left, she rolled her eyes at the closed door of Kevin's bedroom. What was that attitude? How could that brat treat her that way? She wouldn't want to send him if it were not for Chase! She decided to tolerate this for now. When she had her children with Chase, she would kick this boy out of the mansion!
The next day, Susan went to the mansion quite early, bringing a well-prepared breakfast for Kevin.
Chase only cast a look at the breakfast, "Kevin has had his breakfast. You can send him to the kindergarten directly."
Putting the box on the table, the smile on Susan's face was big and bright, "I prepared these for you, silly. Have some more before going to work. Or you can have it as refreshment during the coffee break."
Chase waved his hand dismissively, "Just go."
Kevin stared at the woman, feeling a bit repulsed by her fake smile.
"Kevin, let's go," Susan tried to grab Kevin's hand. But Kevin pulled away, walking out of the mansion alone.
"Chase, don't worry. I'll take care of Kevin," Susan was beaming at Chase.
Chase nodded, "Kevin's resume showed he was just a kid from a middle-class family. You should be careful with your words. Don't be condescending or rude…"
"Sure, I get it. It's also good for Kevin's growth to act in a lowkey way in the kindergarten," Susan nodded.
…
When they got in the car, Susan's attitude suddenly changed. She wasn't as passionate about Kevin as she had been a couple of minutes ago. Casting a cold look toward the boy, Susan's voice was cold and sharp, "You'd better be polite in your kindergarten boy. People won't tolerate you as we do. Stop being a spoiled brat!"
Kevin didn't even bother to look at her, "It's none of your business though."
"You'll be kicked out of the school one day with an attitude like that, boy!"
Kevin didn't want to waste any time with this woman anymore as he walked into the kindergarten. The driver was a bit worried, "Miss Fox, do you even know which class he's signed up for? What if he can't find his classroom and those teachers just call Mr. Dalton? It won't be nice…"
"Damn it!" Susan just realized as she got off the car, chasing after Kevin. When she brought Kevin to his classroom, she went directly to the teacher, "This boy has been spoiled. And he has no manners whatsoever. Just straighten him out as much as you can. We'll be so grateful…"
