Was Kevin actually defending her? Lola's eyes widened in surprise. She stared at the boy, too surprised to say anything.
The doctor was clearly offended as he looked up, "What did this boy just say?"
"I said you're nothing," Kevin let out a cold laugh.
"Shush, Kevin!" Lola stopped him before turning to face the doctor, "Sir, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have interrupted you." She was not here to fight the doctor. She knew Kevin tried to defend her, but she didn't want to get the boy in any trouble. She also understood the doctor. If she was inspecting a patient, she also wouldn't want other people to give her instructions.
Kevin was clearly not happy when Lola apologized, "What a coward…"
"This kid is unbelievable," the doctor looked unamused.
"Sorry," Lola smiled, "He's from a rich family. He's spoiled."
The doctor only seemed he was not that angry right now. Kevin huffed and walked out of the room.
"Hey! Kevin, where are you going?"
"I'm going to buy you a pair of shoes."
"No! You don't have to. It's not even safe out there… Do you even have money with you?"
"It's not your problem."
The boy just left without saying anything. "Oh my god, I've never seen any kids so spoiled," the doctor shook his head in disbelief. Lola shrugged.
Kevin came back quite fast. Lola's feet had been wrapped up. She put on the shoes and walked carefully, but it was still so painful. When they finally got back, Lola mentioned her plan to Kevin, saying that he should stay at her place for a couple of days while she took a break from going to the mansion.
"You can stay with us, Kevin. So I can give you the treatment here and I don't need to go to the mansion," staring at the bandage on her feet, Lola sighed, "I can't even move around right now…"
"I'm okay with it, but we still need to ask my dad about your leaving…" Kevin shrugged.
Lola was quite happy since Kevin seemed to support her plan, "I'm calling your dad right away!"
Chase was going out of the meeting room when he noticed the call coming in. He picked up the phone, "Who is this?"
"Mr. Dalton, it's me, Swain. I probably can't go to your mansion and perform the treatment for the next couple of days. You need to tell Mr. Smith that he needed to take care of Kevin's diet and…"
"You must come. I don't think the treatment can be delayed."
"Mr. Dalton, it's not delaying the treatment. Kevin won't even be affected…" Lola cast a look at the boy standing by her side, "I really can't go…"
"Why?"
"I… I hurt my feet… I can't walk now."
"Oh, I see. Are you gonna die from it?"
"What?"
"If you're not going to die, you need to make your presence. Are we clear? Or I'll send my men to you."
"You… How could you…"
Lola was so pissed off, but the phone was suddenly cut off. What the heck did he just say? Was she going to die?
"Oh my god! What a massive bastard!" Lola exclaimed in disbelief.
"Don't say that of my dad!" Kevin frowned. Lola turned to look at the boy. His stern little face was exactly like Chase's.
"What have I ever done to deserve this?" Lola clenched her teeth before she sighed defeatedly, "Kevin, you should probably go back… I'll go to the mansion tomorrow."
