When Valin arrived at the hotel that evening, almost everyone on the team was asleep. They had been working almost nonstop installing DTs and assistances. Josey was the only person who came to greet him.
“Please forgive the team. I approved their sleep time. “ Josey said then yawned.
“Goodness. My apologies.” she said in a groggy voice.
[She is even cute when she yawns.] “No worries. I believe this hotel has a hot spa. I will just hang out there then also rest.”
“You are right, they do. Mind if I join you? “
“Sure…yea..uhm..sure. Why not.” Valin was shocked and fairly freaking out. He would get to see Josey in a swimsuit.
“I will see you there in about 30 minutes? That should be enough time to check and drop your stuff off.”
“30 minutes is good.” Josey smiled then turned and floated back to her room.”
Valin went directly to the front desk to check in. “Can you reserve the spa for the next 2 hours, Royalty only? I would like to soak for a while.”
William was probably already losing his mind at the castle. He left him a letter telling him he would be away for 3 days. He was sure to yell at him for handling all of his reservations on his own. Valin thought the town was pretty small so chances of gossip spreading from it was slim.
He put his luggage away and made his way down to the spa changing room.
He walked out at the same time Josey was exiting the lady’s dressing room.
His air caught in his throat, he was speechless.
“Don’t just stand there. Let's get in.”
She walked lightly swinging her hips in her almost too small bikini. Valin watched those hips all the way into the water.
“Is it okay for you to be in here since you are pregnant?”
“Yes it’s fine. Do you think I am going to boil the babies?” Josey said then started laughing.
[That’s exactly what I thought.] “Of course not.”
He talked about what he did to William. He wasn’t proud but he knew William would try to talk him out of coming. They continued talking about their kingdoms and where they went to college. He fairly enjoyed talking to her. He didn’t like that she was keeping her distance though. She looked like she was trying to check out the enclosed area in the back of the spa.
“Josey, when did you learn how to swim?”
She turned and arched her brow. “I don’t know how to swim. Why?”
“Wait!” was the only word Valin could get out before Josey dropped like a stone to the bottom of the pool. This spa was different from most in the country. It had one of the steepest drop offs. In fact, most of the swamps in the area were almost as deep as the deepest oceans.
Valin dove into the water. His heart was beating like crazy. If she hit the bottom he wasn’t even sure he would be able to pull her back up.
He reached her in time and threw his arm around her body. Her top had come up and her breasts were resting on his arm. He just knew they were dead. He couldn’t even focus on saving her properly. [I’m a goddamn pervert.] When they finally reached the top, he swam to the nearest wall. He put her back against his chest and gave her chest a small pump. Josey coughed and spit up water.
“That scared me to death, Josey!” He said, then unconsciously wrapped his arms around her body. He had never been so scared of losing one person in his entire life. When things calmed down, he became aware of Josey’s breasts again. Her bottom was resting on his pelvis. His mind, body, and heart were screaming “Just touch one a little.” So he did while he was acting like he was guiding her to the wall.
“Are you okay?”
“I’m sorry Valin. I didn’t mean to.” Josey started to weep while adjusting her top. She put her arms around his neck and thanked him over and over again.
“As long as you are okay. That’s all that matters.” He said while rubbing her back. “Let’s get out.”
When she pulled away from him she whispered,”Okay.” right next to his lips. He stared into her big purple eyes. He took in the smell of her breath. He wanted that moment to last forever.
After they got dressed, Josey left first then he followed fifteen minutes later.
Their off day came and went. Josey spent it reading in her room. That morning two all terrain vehicles came to pick them up to start their journey further west. Fedri, Josey and Valin traveled in the back seat of the first car and Liv sat in the front seat. The others traveled in the second. The driver talked constantly, mainly about the dangerous creatures in the area. While they drove he pointed to the right. “See there that large shiny looking rock?” Everyone turned to look at the large weird rock. “That is not a rock. It’s a swamp whale. It’s about the length of four of the vehicles put together.” Josey couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
“Do they eat people?”
“No, they are more of an inconvenience than anything. The ground shifts in the city of Perpetuum. The whales cause quakes when they run into the base of the land under the water. This in turn causes the land, that a normal person would deem steady, to crack and sink.”
The driver's words struck fear in Fedri and Valin. “Queen Sueli, maybe we should rethink the location.” Fedri muttered.
“It will be fine.Don’t worry.”Josey persisted.
Once they arrived at the docks, a small yacht waited for them. “I will be here when you return” the driver said while they filed out of the vehicle.
The boat ride really made Josey feel like she was off on an adventure. As soon as she got on Valin asked her to wear a life jacket. She swore she would be fine. She still felt silly that she almost drowned trying to get Valin to save her. The last pool wasn't that deep and she didn’t think about the fact that she was carrying extra weight in the front. “That could’ve been a huge disaster,'' she thought to herself.
They finally arrived at the location, she could tell Valin was a little calmer. The location was a large field filled with flowers and grass. The boat driver stated that there were no swamp drop offs in the field, which Josey had also read.
“Fedri and Alex, we are going to go out first. Let’s get everything set up and then Tinod and Max will join me next.” Josey instructed.
Fedri and Alex pulled their duffle bags off the boat and headed to the location on the tracker. They completed the build in record time. Josey tested it and then walked back to the boat with them. She asked Tinod and Max to quickly follow her. Something was making her feel nauseous like there were tiny motions that no one else felt. She wasn’t even sure if she really felt it. Tinod and Max did their thing. Josey sighed relief when the DT floated 6 feet in the sky.
“You changed that function.” Tin asked curiously.
“Yes. I stayed up thinking about the floatation device and how it just made more sense that it didn’t sit on the ….” Before Josey could finish her sentence the land below their feet started to give way. Tin fell to his knees. They could see the boat shift away from the land. The portion they stood on started to separate from the larger piece. But there was no safe place to be. All of the grassy null was starting to crumble. The land closer to the boat started to sink first. She could see Liv and Valin trying to figure out how to get to them. Where they stood was rising out of the ground like they were on the tail end of a sinking ship. Tin and Max held on to the edge and Josey sat at the tip trying to find a solution that would not require her to bring out her wings. Once they were more than five feet in the air the large piece began to fall on its side into the water. There was no other way.
Josey called forward her wings and grabbed Tin and Max. She flew into the sky as the huge piece of land flopped into the water and sent a wave of water towards the boat. The wave of water was not even a point of focus for them. They watched Josey’s succubus form with large eyes and opened mouths. She slowly flew back to the boat and sat Tin and Max down. Not only did her wings come out but her horns and tail were at full length.
Everyone on the boat fell to their knees and said, “My Queen.”
