CHAPTER 4

806 Words
Sophie jolted awake, her heart pounding in her chest. She had just had the most vivid and erotic dream about her boss, Mr. Jameson. In the dream, he had been possessive and dominant, just like in real life, but there was something different about him that made her feel a powerful attraction to him. She shook her head, trying to clear the fog of the dream from her mind. She had to get ready for work. But when she looked at the clock, she realized she had overslept. She had only 30 minutes to get dressed and make it to the office. Sophie leaped out of bed and raced to the shower, trying to shake off the memory of the dream. As she got dressed, she couldn’t help but feel a lingering sense of embarrassment and guilt. How could she have dreamt something so inappropriate about her boss? Sophie arrived at the office flustered and out of breath. She rushed to her desk, hoping to avoid Mr. Jameson’s attention, but she could feel his piercing gaze on her. “You’re late,” he said sternly. Sophie felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment. “I’m so sorry, sir. I overslept.” Mr. Jameson’s eyes narrowed. “You can’t afford to be late. We have a lot of work to do today.” Sophie nodded, feeling a sense of shame wash over her. She knew she had let her boss down, and she vowed to make it up to him. As the day wore on, Sophie found herself struggling to concentrate on her work. She couldn’t shake off the memory of her dream, and she found herself feeling increasingly self-conscious around her boss. Despite her best efforts, Mr. Jameson seemed to notice that something was off with Sophie. He watched her carefully, his eyes always trained on her, making her feel uncomfortable. Sophie knew she had to get her act together, but she couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was changing between her and her boss. She had always disliked him, but now she found herself feeling drawn to him in a way she couldn’t explain. As the day drew to a close, Sophie found herself feeling more confused than ever. She didn’t know what was happening to her, but she knew she had to figure it out before it was too late. Theo’s friend, Mark, had come to visit him at the office. As soon as Mark laid eyes on Sophie, he couldn’t resist flirting with her. Sophie felt uncomfortable with his advances, and she did her best to brush him off. But Mark was persistent, and he kept making suggestive comments and winking at her. Theo seemed oblivious to Mark’s behavior, caught up in his own world of business and money. He had barely acknowledged Sophie’s presence all day, except to reprimand her for being late. It was as if he had already forgotten about their previous encounter. Finally, Mark managed to convince Theo to leave the office and join him for a drink. Sophie breathed a sigh of relief as they walked out of the door, but she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment. She didn’t know why, but she had been hoping that Theo would stay and talk to her. Sophie busied herself with work, trying to push her thoughts of Theo out of her mind. But as the evening wore on, she found herself distracted by his absence. She wondered where he was, what he was doing, and who he was with. When Theo finally returned to the office, it was well past midnight. He stumbled into the room, smelling of alcohol and cigarettes. Sophie felt a surge of anger and disappointment. How could he be so irresponsible? Mark followed Theo into the room, laughing and joking. “Hey, Sophie, you should come out with us next time. It’s a lot of fun.” Sophie smiled weakly, trying to hide her discomfort. She couldn’t imagine spending a night out with Theo and Mark. The thought made her feel uneasy. As Mark and Theo continued to joke around, Sophie felt a sense of isolation. She knew that she didn’t belong in their world of power and money, but she couldn’t help but feel drawn to Theo. There was something about him that intrigued her, even though he was rude and possessive. As she packed up her things and prepared to leave, Sophie couldn’t help but feel a sense of longing. She knew that she had to keep her distance from Theo, but she couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to be close to him. Sophie sighed as she left the office, her mind still filled with thoughts of Theo. She knew that she was in for a rough ride, but she couldn’t resist the pull of her heart.
