Chapter 23 (Chosen Mate)

“What do you mean you can’t find her!?!” I roar. I can’t control my anger it’s been a month since I’ve seen my mate.

“Alec... please the trackers have been working day and night to locate her but it’s like she disappeared. Like she never existed... I’m sorry” Will says with pity in his eyes

But I don’t want his pity or anyone else’s. All I want is my mate.

“No! Don’t say that. She’s out there somewhere.” My voice is deep and full of pain 

“Maybe Alec but I have a feeling if she doesn’t want to be found then she won’t”  Will says

“Send more trackers. I want her found now!” I bark out. My lycan wants to come out but I don’t let him

“As you wish my king” Will bows then leaves my office

I miss her, I miss her soft milky skin, I miss her laugh, I miss the way she would moan when she eat something she liked, I miss her lips, her body... I miss everything about her. Please come back to me little wolf.

Sarah

“How are you feeling today?” Liam questions

I’ve been feeling sick lately which is wired because wolfs usually don’t get sick. I think it has to do with leaving my mate.

“I’m fine”

He sighs “Sarah, you can’t stay in my cottage for the rest of your life. You have a family who wants to meet you and a pack who cares about you.”

“Are you kicking me out?” I sass back at him

“That’s not what I meant and you know it.” He says 

“I don’t care about them so why do I have to meet them” I whine

Everyday he try’s to get me out of the house.

“Beautiful please...At least agree to meet with your family. You have no idea what they’ve been thru.”

“Okay...just promise me you won’t leave my side” I say

“Never beautiful” he smiling down at me

Liam has become a good friend to me. I truly trust him and care about him deeply but only as friends. Everyday I struggle not to think about Alec but at nights I cry myself to sleep. My wolf has completely shut me out and won’t communicate with me. I don’t think she’ll ever forgive me for separating her from her mate. She hasn’t even ask to go for a run.

Later on Liam and I are making dinner Chicken Alfredo. I’ve actually become an expert cook thank to Liam. I guess since were isolated from city’s we cook most of our food and hunt for our meat. Liam says the pack eat together at the pack hall but since I’ve been here he hasn’t left my side. Unless it’s important but he always comes back right away.

My brother and father are joining us for dinner and I’m extremely nervous. I feel like I’m betraying my other family. The little girl they lost is no more and what if they hate me. 

There’s a knock on the door and Liam notices my facial expression.

“I’ll get it. Relax and just breathe” he kisses my cheek and leaves me in the kitchen to finish up

I can hear conversation but I don’t dare to go out and great them. Liam then comes back with a smile on his face. 

“Grab a dish and get your cute a** out there..Now!” He says in a firm tone

I pout and do exactly as he says

Normally Liam and I eat in the kitchen table but since we got company were using the dining room. Once I enter I see two men sitting down. They see me and stand up

“Hi” they both say. My father has teary eyes and I can tell he’s emotional. 

I nod and sit across from them. Liam sits next to me

We start to eat in silence but ever now and then I glance up at them. My brother name is Erik and he’s tall with brown hair. To be honest we look nothing alike other then our noses. My father name is Rick and he is exactly like my brother except he’s older and has some gray hair. 

“I...I never thought I would see you again. You’ve grown up so much” Rick says

I stay silent I’m not sure what to say

“I know you don’t remember us sis but we want to get a chance to know you and for you to get to know us” Erik says

“I don’t know... I already had a father and he was a really good one. I have sisters that love me and I them.”

“I’m so happy to hear that. You have no idea how much I worried about you.” Rick says

“I’m your brother sis. Just give us a chance to get to know each other”

“Okay but I’m not making any promises” I say

Erik smiles back at me “So, tells something about you Sarah”

“Well I grew up in the Shadow Moon Pack with my father and mother. I have two older sisters Sierra and Sam.”

“What happen when you shifted?” Rick ask 

“Umm well I shifted when I was five. My father and mother helped me thru it and trained me. They kept me safe from other wolfs.” I say 

“They sound like amazing parents” Rick says 

“ yeah they were...they...they died when I was ten” my voice brakes remembering their death

“I’m so sorry to hear that Sarah”

“It’s okay I dealt with it already. So tell me something about you guys” I say trying to change the topic “Well, I’m 25 and Beta of our pack also I’m single. I train four hours a day and I like to read” Erik says 

“I’m old but I try to help out as much as I can” Rick tells me

“Dad your still young”

We all laugh

“I love your laugh” Liam says to me 

I blush and look down 

“I’m so glad you two are getting along. Somehow I knew you would find each other again” Rick says 

I tilt my head in confusion “why”

Liam glares at Rick and he just stares at me “I..I...Well..”

“What is going on?” I say sternly

Liam takes in a deep breath “We were promised to each other but things don’t always planned out.”

I stand up needing space from everyone “ What does that mean?”

“It means nothing Sarah. It was before you were taken”

“But your not my mate” I say 

He growls “No, but I would’ve been your chosen mate”

“Liam I..I can’t” I stutter

“I know beautiful that’s why I never said anything” Liam hugs me and I hug him back “I know that you just need a friend right now”

After that awkward moment Erik and Rick leave

I go to my room needing to be alone

I can’t believe Liam and I were supposed to be promised to each other. I wonder how my life would’ve been if I grew up here with this family. Would Liam and I ended up together?
