Chapter 30: Secret of The Orcs I

"Weird..." Caine suddenly muttered, causing the rest to frown. "What is weird?" Layla asked. Caine pointed at the dead orcs and said, "Don't you find it weird that so many orcs suddenly appeared out during daylight?" "Isn't that easy, it must have been the command of the boss from their hideout." Sophia replied with confidence, however, Layla who was beside her suddenly smacked her head. "Don't be stupid, don't you know that orcs aren't particularly fond of lights? If they were exposed to lights for too long then they would dramatically weaken but these orcs are clearly strong!" Caine nodded his head in agreement then added to her statement, "This is why orcs normally abuse humans in the forest or during night where lights are scarce. Orcs are smart creatures, they knew that going out during the day would be suicidal. Even if it really was the order of their boss, they would rather choose to go against the boss than go on a sucidal mission." Sophia nodded her head, while Lewis suddenly spoke with admiration, "Mister, you are so knowledgeable." Caine was a loner in his past life, so to kill some times, he often observed the behaviour and lifestyles of not just humans but also other creatures. Plus during his study with Renton-Sensei he learnt a bit more about them. "Oh! I don't think we have been told yet, but mister, what is your name?" Layla suddenly asked, causing Caine to almost flinch. 'Wait, why am I so worried? Even if I told her my real name, I doubt she will know me as Caine Von Rustichel.' Caine pondered for a second before finally replying to her question, "Laine. My name is Laine." "That's an unusual name for a dwarf..." Sophia commented, however, Layla on the side quickly pinched her back, causing her to yelp out loud. Layla who had a forced smile spoke, "He-he, well Mister Laine, thank you for your help today." "Y-Your Welcome..." … During night, Caine headed out to the orcs hideout to investigate and exterminate them, but the four young adventurers from Part Phoenix decided to come along too. Caine didn't really have a valid excuse to stop them so he reluctantly agreed. Their plan is to break into the orc's hideout and investigate the reason for the orcs unusual behaviour and power. "There, that cave is where the orc's hideout is." Layla spoke in a quiet tone. Everyone made sure to wear a black cloak and got rid of any flashy items that may increase their rate of being detected. The cave entrance that Layla was pointing at was heavily guarded by four orcs. Like the orcs that Caine previously had s*******r, they all wore a leather strap armour that covers most parts of their body. They also seem to possess a lot of steel-based weapons, mainly heavy types. These are most likely stolen from unlucky traveling merchants. All of a sudden with a slight suction in the air around them, Caine disappeared right before all of their eyes. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. They all turned to look back at the entrance of the cave and what they saw next sent a chill down their spine. All four orcs that were still standing moments ago had now all dropped dead on the floor beneath Caine. Though it's not really clear from their distance, from the look of the orc's expression, they didn't seem to have changed, meaning that they didn't even struggle or realise what just killed them. 'S-Space Magic!' The same two words simultaneously flashed from their mind. Gulp. They have heard many stories about Space-Elemental wielders, about how strong and virtually undefeatable they are, they didn't really believe it at first, but now that they saw it with their own eyes, they are certain that Space-Elemental Wielders are undefeatable. Why? That's because unless the attack went undetected, otherwise any up-front attacks will be useless. You will die before you even know it! Space-Elemental wielders are elites of elites of elites! They are natural rulers! Seeing that the four of them stopped moving, Caine suddenly waved at them and gestured to them to come over. The four of them immediately followed Caine's instruction and quickly caught up to him. They now have no choice but to follow his instructions and continue the investigation even if they don't want to. The other person is a Space-Elemental user! Plus they were the one who wanted to come along, if they suddenly changed their mind then it would be seen as rude and could incur his ire! When the four finally arrived at the entrance, Caine finally got a chance to see their expressions. Despite how hard they tried to hide it, it still slipped out. Caine inwardly sighed, he already predicted that they might react like this, but he didn't have a choice. Teleportation was the only way he could kill those orcs without giving them any chance to alert the others. "Y-You guys don't need to be so afraid. Ain't we on the same side?" Caine couldn't help but remind them. That's right, they are on the same side. After realising this, their minds finally relaxed a bit and they could finally think properly. Realising the awkward atmosphere, Caine quickly continued his way deeper into the cave while the other four quickly followed suit. … After about ten odd minutes of navigating around the cave and silently taking down all of the orcs along the way, they finally made it to the tunnel where they found an opening leading to this massive dome-shaped area inside the cave. "T-That... Don't tell me that's a monarch!" Sophia suddenly shouted, causing the nearby orcs to turn to look at them, instantly exposing their present. Gasp! Sophia immediately held her hands against her mount, while Layla glared at him with a deadly look. In front of them was a giant orc about 6 metres tall. The giant orc cladded himself with all kinds of scrap metals around his body, and a large pickaxe made out of a huge sharpened stone tied at the end of a large tree trunk. 'Monarch...' Caine immediately inspect the giant orc in front of them using his analyze ability. [ Mutated Giant Orc - LVL 128 Status: Monarch Special Abilities: > Battle Cry - Increase subordinates strength by 10% ] 'So it really is a Monarch.' There are three types of authority status in beasts. Boss, King, Monarch. Alongside with the monarch, there are also many bosses and a few Kings statuses among them. An army of this strength and size could easily destroy a medium-size city in one swoop. 'This is what happens when a small fire gets neglected, they would continue to expand and grow to a more intense level.' Caine inwardly sighed. Just how long have they been hiding here? "Humans! How dare you intrude into this monarch's kingdom!" The monarch roared and spoke in human language. 'It seems like it's much more intelligent than the previous orcs.' Caine mused. The previous orcs that he fought were only about level 30 or so, but this one is level 128! It's at least 3 times stronger than the previous one! No, that's not right, the amount of increase differs as level grows. It should be said that the monarch is at least 10 times stronger and smarter.
