"I can't believe we're gonna be working for the biggest company, I mean The Max's!..." Lisa said to her best friend, Brenda. Lisa is a twenty-four-year-old pretty and sexy girl. Really attractive with very enticing eyes. She just got a job at "The Max's" as the secretary. Brenda, her best friend, also got a job as an assistant. They were excited they were going to be working together, at least for the biggest selling companies. "You really have to chill, girl, you don't want people staring at you here. It's too early for that kind of attention" Brenda said to Lisa who was just unpacking her stuff to get settled. She was really happy to work here knowing she always wanted to work with the biggest companies that deal with buying and selling of products from nations and beyond. "I guess you two are new here?" That was Mr Max. Max is the owner of the company. He's a young, good looking man with a very charming smile. His very dark eyes roamed the room that Lisa and Brenda were, looking at them, he supposed they'd be good to put in the work as he certainly did not want anyone to be lazy around. "Yes, Sir, we are" Lisa answered with almost uncertainty in her voice, she was a very timid girl but decided to give this very job her best shot. Of course, she had to. Brenda stood there quietly listening to all the instructions Max was letting them know. "Follow me then" Max said, leading them both out of the room. "Uh… not you, uh…Lisa, this is your office already. I'll assign someone that will show you around and fill you up on everything you need to know" Lisa sat quickly on the chair just behind her. She just wanted to be intentional and perfect on her first day. "So, I learnt you have no working experience?" Max asked as he showed Brenda around. " Yes sir. None. But I intend to do my very best once learned everything necessary" " I sure hope you do" He said, pointing out to her office which was directly in front of his. There was a large desk with a chair behind it, simply and beautifully put in her office. Her eyes circled the room in admiration and jaw dropped as she was content with the place, there was a smile on her face too, she was indeed satisfied with the beauty of the place. "So what do I do now Sir?" Brenda asked. "Well, for now, look at the documents on your desk and let me know my schedule for the day. My Mom will be coming over for an inspection later during the day,let me know the time for that too. Good luck B" Max said entering into his own office. There was a half smile on Brenda's face as he spoke to her, a smile of satisfaction and fulfillment too. She felt all her dreams were coming into a reality, and also because Max shortened her name. No one has done that before, he was sure an attractive man but was she definitely overthinking this?. Lisa was already settled in and received her orientation from one of the workers. She was indeed happy to be working at Max's, it was a big and famous and excelling company in all kinds of businesses. "I want to see my son." That was Max's mother. She said in a tone of anger. Mrs Smith stood right in front of Lisa's desk, she looked really unhappy and sounded really urgent. She also had not seen this face in the company before. Mrs Smith is a tall fine woman, and really doesn't look nice. "I'm waiting girl!" She said in a harsh tone. Lisa was clumsy with the files on her desk. She was literally confused and nervous. Yeah, she just received her orientation and knew exactly what to do but she was a little tense considering the rush and pressure from Mrs Smith's voice. "Yes ma, I heard you. Let me quickly check…" Lisa was already shaking. Her first day and she was already clumsy about it, this didn't go exactly as she had planned it to be. "Good morning Ma'am, Mr Max told me you'll be here this morning" Brenda said as she walked towards Lisa's desk. " He's in a meeting now, but you can wait for him in his office," There was so much confidence in her voice. Mrs Smith left the room. "Girl, you just saved my day," Lisa said with relief and pounced in on her chair. " I really don't know what went wrong but I just felt so tense and you came in at the right time. Thanks" Leaning towards Lisa's desk, Brenda told her "You'll be fine, just relax ok. And by the way that's Mr Max's mom" Lisa arched her brow, she was a little surprised."Yeah..she mentioned she wanted to see her son." Walking into the office, Max saw his mother and his smile dropped. He knew exactly her reason for coming to the office, it was the same as always. "Mom, really happy to see you, I didn't think you would miss it" he dropped the files in his hand and went to the dispenser. He didn't look happy to see her at all. Mrs Smith just wants the best for her son as she would always tell him "I want to see you get married baby, before I relocate, you know this". Of course she had to remind him without hesitation that he needs to get settled. Max has not been in any relationship since the past year, he claimed that he was not ready to commit yet and had not seen the right person. "I will mum, I'll do just that, but when I'm ready ok?" He dropped his glass on the table and looked at his Mom. She was wearing a pitiful face. She responded back to him in a very mild voice "You haven't been ready for the past year? Really Max?, you know you're not getting younger either" As always, those were his mother's words. All the time. "Mom, I will, I definitely will, but when I'm ready." Just to keep his mother from going on with her ranting. Those were always his own words. Getting up to leave, Mrs Smith said. "We'll talk more on this at home, I have an appointment to meet up with later" Of course he surely wanted to get settled and married but he was yet to find the one, the right one. At least he had to do this. It was his mother's wish for him to settle down and have a family of his own, before she relocated finally, and it was a condition for him to keep the company as his too. His eyes roamed his office and he thought about all that his mother had said to him. " I'll definitely find a girlfriend and settle down when I see the right one" " Sir, you have a meeting scheduled for 5pm with Madison's Company concerning their sale of products" Brenda said at the door of Mr Max's office. Raising his eyebrow. "Yea, I'll get to that later ok" It's been over four months now. Things have been going well at work. At least the company is getting more engagements and has been able to sell their products to even larger companies and even buy other products too. Mr Max was definitely the brain box of his company, his workers had really been putting in their best for the growth of the company, and so, he decided to give them a break. "It's really so nice of Mr Max to give us this leave. I need this" Lisa said, packing her stuff into her hand bag. She was very relieved there was a break from work. They had worked really hard to close their deal with a very prominent company that was interested in buying from them. She needed some time to focus on herself and get used to the system since it wasn't an easy start for her at the company. Brenda just smiled at her, really with no expression on her face. " It's nice friend but I think I'm going to miss it here though," Brenda said, walking close and sitting on the couch in her office. Lisa was surprised she was saying this when the break is only for a few days, five days. She would definitely smash her handbag in her face if she uttered such a thing knowing she is a work-free girl. "Not like missing work though" she said again with laughter in her voice. " I think I'm going to miss Mr Max" Definitely in fantasies, Lisa thought. "Common girl, don't act like you don't see the way he looks at me at the office, I mean he even shortened my name, Lisa." Brenda was already smiling even more than she knew it. She was certainly infatuated. "Brenda, I think Mr Max is a nice guy, by nature. Don't get caught up with whatever fantasy you make in your head okay?" Lisa responded, getting ready to leave. She knew her friend more than anybody else, and definitely knew this was just a crush. Nothing more serious than that. Brenda still smiled, not going to let her discourage her out of this feeling. "Alright Bee…" Lisa said laughing at Brenda who was still sitting on the couch, wrapped up with smiles. "I know you still have a little to do before going but I have to get groceries from the store so I'll see you this evening" she said walking out of the office. Of course." Green Fields yeah?" Brenda responded sharply, as soon as she noticed Lisa's faint voice. She yelled back to affirm to her friend. "Have you put all the files I asked for on my table?" Max said at the door of the office. He didn't get a response immediately as he looked at Brenda who seemed lost. He asked again but with a clearer tone, maybe shouting. Brenda stood up in shock, she finally got herself and responded in a hush tone. " I have sir, I'm really sorry about that." Max told her to get ready to leave considering that almost all the workers have left already. " I was just heading to the office to pack my things, sir." She said carefully counting her steps out of the office. Max, Mr Max, was still going to be in the office, he had some work to cover before retiring for the day. Brenda entered his office, a very flirtatious smirk on her face, she asked him, "Is there anything you want me to do for you before I leave finally?" She just wanted a little attention before she left. "I'll be more than willing to help you." Max just smiled. " There's nothing my dear, enjoy your break ok. See you Tuesday." She left his office quite unhappy, hoping he was going to call her back. Yep!, Brenda was definitely making out scenes in her head. It had only been a few months since she started working at The Max's and she couldn't for sure tell if Mr Max was into her, but that was the least of her concern because she liked him and that alone mattered to her.
