PARTY PREPARATIONS
As Liz neared her car after work, she looked over her shoulder. She sensed she was being watched but couldn’t see anyone suspicious around the parking space. The scuffle of feet in front of her caused her to face the front as she gasped for breath. Nobody there. She ran forward and almost tripped over a rock. Picking it up, she roamed the area, not surprised that only a few staff members remained. Prickles of fear ran down her spine as she crept around, scanning the work parking area. It was deserted, but she was sure she’d heard footsteps. Shaking her head, Liz stepped into her car, thinking how silly it was that someone was watching her. It was ludicrous.
