Misunderstanding

FIONA'S POV "Excuse me, but I don't know you." I frowned, staring at the young man who was stretching out his hands for a handshake. "I'm sorry." The young man withdrew his hands as he smiled embarrassedly. Even though he was very handsome, it was none of my business. I loathed men like him the most. Using the pretext of meeting before to try to get women. I was sure that he must have used the tricks to get many women. I could tell that he was quite rich from the way he dressed but still, it was none of my business. "I'm sorry, but I think we met at The King's Center at Oxford." The man's voice drifted into my ears. "King's Center?" I frowned. "Yeah, if I remembered correctly, you were the one who bumped into me." The man smiled as he looked at me. I frowned as the disgust on my face was becoming even more evident. I couldn't register what he was saying. I knew I was at the King's Center the day before, but I didn't bump into a playboy like him. No way, there was nothing such a spoiled brat would be doing at the King's Center. That place was used for conferences of large businesses and yet he was claiming I had bumped into him. Who the hell did he think he was? Well, I wasn't going to believe it. "I'm sorry, but I don't think I'm the one." I frowned trying to be polite as much as I could even though it was very tough. "I see." The man muttered and it seemed like he was lost in his thoughts. "Would you mind excusing me? I'm in quite a hurry." I squeezed a smile. "Ohh, sorry." He smiled as he apologized while moving aside. "Thank you very much." I smiled and tried to walk away as I felt I would explode from anger if I stayed any longer. "If I may ask, would you like to have coffee some other time?" The man's voice came just as I was about to leave. At this moment, I was completely enraged. He managed to get me to release all the frustration I was feeling. I was in a God damn hurry. I didn't know what was going to happen if I got there late. What the hell was he even thinking? "I'm sorry, but I'm not interested." I snorted, not hiding the disgust in my eyes. Did he think I was going to get swayed by his little tricks? I had known that this was what it was going to result in since the beginning, but I had calmly played along as I didn't want to lose my temper. "I see." He muttered. Hearing his words I frowned as I could see the shock in his eyes. Did he think I was going to get swayed by his little tricks? Never was that going to happen. There were tons of men who were chasing after so I had seen a lot of tricks. His little tricks were not in my eyes. Well, I could care less about them. I had other things to do. "I'm sorry if I've wasted your time in any way." The boy smiled as he apologized. "So you just knew you were wasting my time?" I snorted, staring at him. "Did you think I was going to get swayed by your little games?" "Never in hell would that happen. You're nothing but a rich second generation who has nothing to do but pick up girls." "I'll advise you'll find something to do or else you'd be putting your parents into trouble." I was unable to conceal my anger anymore. I had already had enough of it. I could see the shock on the man's face but I could care less. Wasn't this an expression all playboys knew how to put on when something went south for them? No way in hell was I going to be confused that he was innocent. "But..." "Shut the f**k up!" I raged, interrupting him. "You know nothing about me and yet you had the guts to say I bumped into you at the King's Center in Oxford. Who do you think would believe such a ridiculous lie?" "I'm sorry to say, but I'm not impressed at all, but very disappointed. Your pickup lines barely pass the minimum." "No, it sucks. No one would ever fall for something like that in their whole life. I'm sure you'll be single for your entire life." "It'll be better if you go and hone your skills or else I'm afraid you'll get yourself arrested in the end." I sneered. "But I wasn't trying that. All that I said was genuine." The man frowned as he argued rather calmly. His calm demeanor shook me at first but soon I regained my senses. "Genuine or not, I don't care about what you have in mind. It's utterly useless to me." I snorted. "I think you've gotten something wrong." He frowned. "I've gotten nothing wrong, it's just that you're bad with your pickup lines. Try again next time." I sneered without hiding the disgust in my tone. "But..." Ring! Ring! The ringing of my phone interrupted him. I sighed as I tried to calm my heavy breathing which has become that way because of anger. Looking at the caller's ID, a frown appeared on my face. This was what I was afraid of, the person I had come looking for who was already calling me. The man who had stopped me was sure a disaster and I wasn't going to forgive him. I'll deal with him the next time we meet, that is if fate allows it. "I'm sorry sir, I'll be there soon." I smiled immediately after I picked up the call. "You should be here in five minutes or else you can forget about coming." A cold voice came from the other end. "I understand sir," I replied hurriedly as I rushed to flag down a taxi but that was after glaring at the man who had delayed me. If he hadn't delayed me, then this wouldn't have happened. He was the cause of everything. He was surely a disaster and I hoped I was going to encounter him in the future.
