Maria was singing with her mother when they suddenly heard a knock at the door. they looked at each other in a confused manner.
"Are you expecting someone?" they asked each other at the same time.
"No" Maria replied
"Let me go and check" mother said and turn to swim to the door as Maria nodded and followed her. she opened the door only to see 2 palace guards. she gasped in shock not expecting them of all the creatures in the sea. Maria who stood behind was trembling in fear thinking someone must have seen her swimming from the surface 6 days ago. She wanted to run but didn't for some unknown reason.
"The Queen has summoned every creatures in the sea to the palace for Mertival . failure to attend means that you have disobeyed and dishonored the Queen's invitation and must be severely punish for that" one of the guard announced loudly as the other guard handed a crystal that has the carved word MERTIVAL to mother. On hearing this Maria sigh a sigh of relieve. Mother collected the crystal and the guards left for the next house probably.
" So what colour of tail will you possess tomorrow? " mother asked as the close the door and turn to swim toward Maria.
"Blue" Maria replied collecting the crystal from mother to have a look.
"I shall posses blue tail with alots of red and white glitters. I love these three colours" she said to her mother holding the crystal to her chest.
"Alright" mother chuckled "but isn't that what you possessed the last time?" mother asked rhetorically swimming passed Maria.
"yes! and I shall possess it again" she replied turning to follow her mother.
"mom? will you decorate my hair your pearls? please?" she pleaded with her mother pouting
"Of course!" mother replied smiling at her
