Chapter 4 - The Meeting

Angelica Heart P.O.V

"I'm here." I'm telling her while hugging Amber. I don't feel like I wanna go to this party held by Shadow but I promised her. So here I am, in my best dress.

"Angie!! You made it. I'm starting to think that you are going to bail on me. Come here. I want to introduce you to someone. He's Abraham best friend since childhood. Abraham really keep him close in his heart. Luckily I know he's a guy and my Ab is straight,if I don't, I'll get jealous and might kick that guy ass." Amber tell me jokingly while walk me to a corner where two guys are standing and talking happily with each other. I just laughed hearing those words.

"Ab, Angie is here. Angie, this is Daniel Moon, Ab best friend. Dan, this is Angelica Heart. She's my best friend and my SBC." Amber make a quick introduction between us. I look into this guy eyes when Amber telling me his name and my heart start beating fast. He own the most beautiful set of green eyes I've ever seen.

    He responded to me by a dominating gaze which cause me to be a bit flustered. However, I quickly snapped out of the emotion and put my usual smile and said " Hello. I'm Angelica. You can call me Angie. I'm sorry for staring just now. Nice to meet you."

    Somehow, he offered his hand for a handshake and his gaze become warmer. He offered me a smile. Well, maybe he just offended I staring at him. I accepted the handshake and I feel my heart skip a beat when the hand touched. Holding my hand, he reply in the most seductive voice I have ever heard, "Likewise. I had been informed a lot of good things about you. Nice to meet you too. I'm Daniel, Daniel Moon." Somehow, his voice sound familiar to me. I just can't get a hold where I heard it before. When I looked at Abraham, I saw his face is plastered with big smile and I don't know why so I shrugged it off. 

"Angie. Ab and I have to go to greet the other guests. Please get acquaintance with each other. You know, for future purpose." Amber said with a grin and a wink. I just laugh and nodded. She turn to Daniel direction. "Dan, play nice with Angie. Unless you plan to have your funeral ceremony soon." she give her intimidating stare and Daniel just laugh it out and nodded.

    With a quick hug, she whispered "Angie, he is the Notorious Player. So, be careful. Well, if you want to fall in love, it is good too. Hahaha". Before I get to pinch her at her nose, Ab already take her hand and started to greet the other guests of the party.

    Suddenly, I feel a tug on my arm. I looked back and I see Daniel are staring at me intensely and it make my heart beating so fast. I pulled my arm and face him. With a slow voice but serious tone, I said"Yes, Daniel?"

    He continued to stare at me. Gosh. He is tall and why he keep looking at me like that. Suddenly. "Angelica Heart. I know that I heard of you. You are the HeartBreaker Player. This is interesting. Nice to meet you here."

    Well this town ain't exactly big. It is a small town and word travel fast. However, it is weird to meet him here and it is annoying when he mentioned the nickname.I shrugged and sigh. Then, i gained my composure and said, " Likewise, Daniel Moon a.k.a the Notorious Player. I didn't expect that I will meet you here. Seem like it is fated."

Suddenly, his gaze changed to amused look. Well, seem like he is bipolar. " You know me?"

"To be honest, I heard of you but I don't know you. However, since you bringing up my nickname, why wouldn't I do so too?"

    He look confused and he said, "Well. Its look like I offended you somehow by mention that, Lica. I never mean to offend you so I deeply apologized about this. Can we start again, please?"

    Lica? Nobody called me that. The way he call me with that voice of him make me feel like butterflies in my stomach. I looked at his face and I see a smile. Somehow, I don't feel it is genuine but I don't plan to get into argument in this party. I said "None taken. Don't worry. Anyway, please call me Angie. Nobody call me Lica. Unless you want me to call you Niel. I bet no one call you that. right?" I chuckled.

    He seem surprised to see me that way. He give me a grin. "As a matter of fact, it is true that nobody call me Niel. They either call me Daniel, Dan or Danny. Then, it is set. I can be the one who call you Lica while you can be the one who call me Niel. Sound like we have special nickname for each other right?" he startled me. He continued," Now, shall we dance, Lica? Or should we talk about yesterday?"

    I'm getting confused. Special nickname? Yesterday? "I don't plan to have special nickname with you, Daniel. and yesterday?"

    He saw my puzzle look and give me a wider grin."I see that you don't remember it? Well, I'll be damned. You are sincerely do it without any other attention, huh?" This make me more confused. What is he talking about? 

    Suddenly his tone change. It is deeper and sensual. It make me skip a heartbeat again. For god sake, for someone with Heart as her last name, i sure have a weak one. "By the way, you better start calling me Niel, Lica. I prefer to be address that way by you. It make me feel good. "

I rolled my eyes. Who do he think he is? I am not his anything to obey him.

"I don't want. What you gonna do about it? and stop calling me Lica. It's Angie. You are a weird guy Daniel."

    I can hear him some sort of growling to me. Do you think it scare me off. As wish. I turned to walk away but he grabbed me by the arm and it startle me. Then, before i get to tell him off, I heard his whisper."If you don't call me Niel, Lica and said I can't call you that, I'll make sure I kiss you right here right now until you do that. So what do you say? You gonna do it or should we put up a show tonight for these people?"

    He starting to pulled my body closer and I shake my body to tell him I am not comfortable with it. Seem like he didn't understand it as he turned me around to face him and pull me closer. I quickly push his body a bit to create a distance but his body didn't budge. Man, he is strong. Nervously, I said "Please let me go. You are too close. Peoples will think differently. Please."

I can feel his grip is getting tighter. " Why would I care? I need to hear the answer. Nickname or kisses? "

I stiffened. "Please let me go. You wouldn't want to kiss me here. You gonna lose your chance to get the hot ladies that attended this party. This also not gonna look good for your reputation. Just let me go, please."

    He lowered his face near to me and it get me more flustered. With a deep voice, he whisper " Your pleading are turning me on, Lica. Why wouldn't I want to kiss you here? You are a beautiful woman, baby. Reputation? I could care less. What so bad about a player kiss a player? I am serious Lica. I don't like to be deny in any way and I always get what I want. I'll kiss you if you insist of not calling me Niel, Lica. Maybe that is what you really want? Do we want to give them a show? Make your decision, Lica."

    I looked into his eyes and I can see that he is dead serious. It's not like I care too much about nicknames, it just that the way he said it make my heart running as fast as it can and it make me feel weird. I don't like to feel that way. However, as I can sense that he is seriously gonna do that if I said no, I will have to comply with it. After all, I don't think we will meet each other again in future.

    "Fi..Fine. I don't fancy the idea of peoples watch me kissing a guy I just met and that eyes of yours kinda tell me you gonna do what you said if I say no. I don't need some more spotlight. You can call me whatever you want, including Li... Lica. I will call you Ni..Niel. Can you let me go now, please?" I giving him a pleading look.

    I can feel peoples are staring at me and my cheek burned. My face is definitely turning red. He look astonished as he keep looking at my face. Yeap. I definitely crimson red. "Lica, I'll be damn. You look so cute. You blushed.This is refreshing." He let go of my arms and i give out a relieve sigh. Then I hear his cheerful voice." I'm glad I come here tonight. I love seeing you blushing over a name. However, you don't know that I wish you didn't easily say yes to my request, Lica. It would be nice to kiss your lips."

It make me me flustered. Ignoring his seductive look, I said "Stop saying that kind of words, Ni..Niel. We are in public. Can't you see that peoples are staring at us?". Yes, technically everyone is staring at us. Including Amber and Abraham. I give signals to Amber to save me but she just give me a big wide smiles. The nerve of her. I gonna pinch her later for this.

He look around with nonchalant look and fixated back his eyes on me. " Who cares? They just feel weird to see two players are talking to each other. Anyway I want to talk about yesterday."

Yesterday again? What happened yesterday. Puzzled, I said " Yesterday? What about yesterday?"

He chuckled. "Well, apparently you are kind enough to lend me your handkerchief when I had a little accident yesterday in the restaurant. I would like to thank you for that. Can I buy you dinner to show my gratitude?"

I gasp. Now I know why his voice sound familiar. "You're the guy from that restaurant?? Now I know why she threw water at you. You are a player." Without I realized it, i said it out loud and I can see his eyebrows furrowed.

Shit, Now i feel guilty. I shouldn't do that. " Owh, I'm sorry. It's rude of me. Please forgive me. It's slipped out of my mouth. I glad I can help you in some way. No need for the dinner. I didn't do much anyway."

When he heard my reply, he went silent. Then he give me this intense stare. s**t. He said he don't like to be decline. Suddenly I feel like I should get out from there as soon as possible. I quickly said,"Well, I need to go back now. Gotta look for Amber and Abraham to say goodbye. Goodbye Niel."

Before I have the chance to turned around and make my way, he quickly grabbed my arm. "Seem like you like to decline and deny me, Lica. I just invite you to the dinner to thank you for your kindness. I know you shouldn't have problem with it as I heard from Ab that you recently single. Why you decline my offer, Lica?"

He scared me. I realized i shuddering. His hand grasp is enough to let me know that he is upset. But I think he still controlled his strength. I slowly whisper to him " I don't mean to be rude but I don't like a player and you mister, a big PLAYER with capital P. Please let me go. You hurting me."

He give me a smirk."Lica, you never cease to surprise me. Stop making excuses. I know it doesn't hurt you." He keep his gaze on me and change his voice to seductive whispering tone, " For a girl that have a reputation of a player and been called as heartbreaker player, I would say, me being a player is not really a good reason to decline my offer for dinner."

I flustered and said "Well.. What I said is the truth. Please let me go. I don't like being stared like a doll by peoples."

He growled to me again. " I don't like to be decline. Do you plan to turn me on, Lica? You playing hard to get is turning me on. I will find a way to make you said yes so I can repay it back. I hate feeling I owing someone." After, whispering that word, he let me go.

I feel relieve when he let me go. I lowered my gaze." Well, like I said. You don't owe me anything. It is hardly anything. I will be going now. Goodbye Niel." I quickly turned around and walk towards Amber.

I can't see him but I can hear him saying, " Not goodbye, Lica. Goodnight. We will be seeing each other again. Take care Lica."

I quickly go to Amber. " Am, I am going to go now. I am feeling a bit tired. See you tomorrow?"

Amber give me a worry look."Are you okay Angie? Did Dan do anything you hate? Tell me please. I will tell him off."

    I know Amber attitude but I also know that Daniel is Abraham friend. I wouldn't want to cause any problem just because of this incident that I know ain't gonna repeat again. " No. He didn't do anything. We go along well. We just whispered a lot as we just don't want to be loud. We are good. I am just tired. Gotta go babe. I see you tomorrow okay?"

Amber let out a relieve sigh and hugged me."Okay. I glad to hear that. Yeap. See you tomorrow babe. Sleep tight okay."

I hugged her back "Okay babe."

I take a taxi to my house and once I reach home, I quickly went to shower. I just realised there is red marks around my arm. It must be because of him. After the shower, I quickly go to my bed wearing just panties like usual and stare at the ceiling.

" What is wrong with him? Luckily it will be first and last. He is charming but scary too." I keep playing the scenarios again and again in my mind and I don't know when did I fell asleep.
