ELENA'S POV
“Please don't. Please, please, please,” I begged. My eyes darted from side to side, from Vivian to her two friends. They had mean snarls in their eyes. They had this determination in their face that made me feel like this is a plan that they had thought through. The look on their faces made everything make sense; they had planned this. The kindness Vivian showed me in the passage-way was not genuine, she only did that to get me to go hunting with them.
They planned everything, I fell into their trap and now I'm going to pay for this mistake with my life.
“Oh, Elena. Elena, Elena, Elena. You are so f*****g stupid, so gullible. You really think I'll become friends with my competition. You really think I'll happily invite you to go hunting with me after you f****d my man?” Vivian said. Her face folded up in anger, her hands balled up in a fist. I panicked, she had murder written all over her face. What is it about me that sends people down a murderous spiral? First it was Lydia and Damien, now Vivian and her friends. What is it about me that makes people want to kill me?
“Do you know I saw you both yesterday?” Vivian said, pacing in front of me with a knife in her hand. What is she even talking about? Saw who?! She must have noticed the confusion in my face because she continued speaking.
“You and Alpha Kieran. I saw you both, in his room,” she added, glaring at me.
“He was gentle with you. He is never gentle, not even with me,” she snarled. She pointed the knife towards me with an evil glare on her face
My heart thudded painfully in my chest. The panic flooded in.
“No, no, no, please no,” I begged with tears in my eyes. A thought ran through my head and without reflecting on it too much I shoved Vivian away from me and tried to run.
“You b***h!” I heard her yell as I ran into the woods. I continued to run without even being sure where i was running too. I just needed to get away from them.
“Get her!” I heard Vivian yell again. The sound of rapid footsteps tripled with Vivian's minions running after me. I hid behind a tree as I tried to catch my breath. My heart thudded rapidly in my chest, my throat felt like it was closing in on itself when I heard their footsteps coming closer and closer. My panic rose with every step they took.
Please, moon goddess! Please don't let me die! Save me!
Their footsteps drew closer. Just when I thought I was totally done for. When I thought they were going to check behind the tree I was hiding at, I heard them walk away.
“She's not here,” I heard one of them say.
“Let's check over there,” the other one added. I sighed in relief, this relief was, however, short-lived as my feet landed on a branch. The snapping sound of the branch called Vivian's minions back. I gasped in shock, the fear came back again and I ran as quickly as I could.
“Get her!” They yelled. As much as I tried, I could not out run them and when they caught me, I could not fight my way out of their grasp. They dragged me back to Vivian, who was sitting on a tree stump.
“You really tried to run?!” She yelled, her face curled up in a mean scowl. Vivian's hand landed painfully on my cheek as the other girls held me. Vivian wasted no time punching and kicking me as they held me down.
“Please stop! I did nothing to you!” I cried but that did not stop her. Vivian only stopped when she was satisfied with the injuries she had inflicted on me. She only stopped when there was blood running down the side of my face.
She picked the knife from the ground. My eyes glinted with fear.
“Alpha Kieran is mine. One day I will be his Luna. I'm not going to let you stop that from happening,” she said.
“No no no,” I pleaded and struggled against the other girls’ grip. Their grip only grew stronger.
“Please don't,” I begged.
“I'm sorry Elena but there is room for only one Luna in this pack and that Luna is me,” she said and plunged the knife deep into my midsection.
The air filled up with a loud groan that I did not even know my body could produce, I looked down to see the blood seeping out. I slowly started to lose consciousness, everything felt like it was fading away, the sound of the girls running away felt like a faint dream that I had made up in my head.
The last thing I remember is his face before I slipped into complete oblivion.
