Chapter 61
Something was wrong. Clay couldn’t put his finger on what, but something was wrong. The feeling had been growing as he drew closer to the Wanderer. Now he was approaching Jess’s ship the feeling was becoming overwhelming. He’d be docking in the next couple of minutes so he needed to understand what the cause was.
Was it the Wanderer? Was it what Jess or Teeko might do that worried him? No. He didn’t think so. What then? Was it the device?
Suddenly it clicked into place. It wasn’t any of those things… it was Zeek. Zeek who was so strongly opposed to Teeko staying aboard the Wanderer, Zeek who would do anything to deal with what he saw as a huge risk. The same Zeek who had agreed to Clay taking his time, to not triggering the device immediately.
