Chapter 27
Sal sat on the bridge of the Dark Shadow, excitement flowing through her. Soon, very soon, she would be amongst a large group of the Gifted. Since the wormhole had disintegrated around them she had been… not alone. The rest of the Gifted aboard the ship prevented that. But cut off from something amazing, from something awe inspiring.
They were still a minute’s travel in jump space from the large group but she could already feel the presence of so many other Gifted. The comfort, the joy, their presence gave was impossible to describe to anyone who hadn’t received the Gift. Not that they would listen anyway. They were all terrified of the Gift. They called it the Taint and had no idea they couldn’t be further from the truth.
As the minute ticked past Sal pushed feelings
