Chapter 29
Sal stepped off the shuttle that had bought her to the Liberation. The Dark Shadow served her needs perfectly most of the time, but it was far too small to contain the interrogation equipment needed to understand just what was different about the immune Imperials that had been captured. The Liberation was an ex-Imperial cruiser, one whose entire crew had received the Gift, and it had the necessary equipment.
Leaving the Dark Shadow had been something of a wrench. She had spent enough time with its crew to build even stronger bonds through the Gift, to understand what they were capable of and how they would approach a problem. The feeling had disappeared as the shuttle approached the Liberation.
