NYXUS heaved a deep sigh, roaming her eyes around people walking inside the university's massive gates. While some had just been dropped off their courage, just like her. Arroz's School of Enchantment Academy. After grabbing her stuffs, Nyxus walked towards the school's gate and into the crowd of people gathering in the center of the field. Nyxus looked around, people from different races were there. From sorcerers, elves, dwarves, harpies, halflings, demi-humans and even humans. "Indeed, they accept every races in here" Nyxus said to herself "Yes, they do" She turned to her right side and saw a girl standing beside her. An elf, she thought. The girl had long brown wavy hair, almost the same height as her, but unlike her, she wasn't carrying anything "You're new here, aren't you?" The girl faced her and Nyxus nodded. The girl was beautiful with her hazel brown eyes, long pointed nose and a pinkish lips and of course her pointed ears And quite oddly, Nyxus felt warmth from within. But before they both could continue talking, they heard a woman's voice from the front "Everyone, listen up! Welcome to ASEA. I am Chief Master Tynna and I am one of the four pillars of this academy" Chief Master Tynna is also an elf, but unlike the girl from earlier, she has short black hair and she's wearing a golden armor vest with a crest on its center. "She's the former general in the elven kingdom before she became the chief master of ASEA" the girl beside her spoke again. Her voice was serene yet it holds proudness in them "You're fond of her, aren't you?" Nyxus commented without looking at her. Eyes focused on Chief Master Tynna The elf beside her just hummed, and from the corner of her eyes, Nyxus can see a small smile on her. "Every elves admires her and wants to be a great warrior just like her" A warrior? Hm that explains the armored vest and the way she presents herself. "I'm Antheia. Welcome to ASEA" Antheia, the elf beside her looked at her and offered her hand for a handshake "Nyxus" while taking her hand They both smiled at each other before they continued listening to the Chief Master. "Before you could all proceed to your respective dorms, you will first be determined which section you belonged to based on your abilities. For those of you who don't know and are new here, there are five sections; the Elites, the Warriors, the Rookies, the Commoners and lastly, the Wanderers. Old and new students will undergo this ability test as per usual. The old students will take the test to know if they're still qualified to be a part of their current department. Any more questions? If none, proceed to the examination ground." After the announcement, everyone started walking to where the examination ground was. Murmurs of excitement and nervousness can be heard from anyone While on the way, Nyxus looked around to memorize her surrounding. ASEA is a massive academy; it's size can be compared to a town. After all, it consists of six different buildings, not included the dormitories of the students. When they arrived, they were divided into five separate groups. Each group will enter inside the examination room to determine their abilities before they compete with each other to know which family or section you're belonged to. Three out of the five groups will enter the Examination room first, while the two groups will go directly to the Training ground. After hours of waiting for the instructions to be finish, Nyxus' group finally entered the room. And they were greeted with an open field with two people inside. One being Tynna, the Chief Master and the other one was a man carrying a staff Nyxus raised her brows, while everyone else gasped in astonishment when the man raised his staff and it glowed blue before a transparent box was seen around them. The open field was now gone and was transformed into a massive room with different kinds of armors and gears "Welcome everyone! This will be your first test, through this, we will know your strengths and weaknesses. I am Tynna, and this man is called Oasis. Oasis will help me in assessing all of you. You will be divided into two groups and will have a challenge of ability called Duel. In this way, you'll not only socialize with the other students, but will also know which section you'll be in based on your abilities. This process will also help you assess and enhance your strengths, abilities and your mana." They were then each given a leaf that has a the symbol of the school engraved on it "Whatever color that leaf you're holding glows into, that'll be your groups. You'll take turns fighting, so give your all. Alright, find your group" Everyone was amazed when their leaf started glowing. There were only two colors: Red and Yellow. And then everyone started going to their assigned groups, feeling excited. "Now that everyone is in their group, let the battle commence. May the deities be with you" Everyone placed their hand on their chest as a sign of respect before each pair got in the center and started their duel. Everyone really did gave their best, from wielding their own weapons to casting their strongest spells and magics to fight. There were also humans who grabbed their own weapons. Nyxus was impressed at what she was watching. Each group has to fight with their opposing team in the duels one by one, and the ones who win, will have a match with the others who also won and the same thing goes for those who lose. Everyone will fight and compete in order for them to distinguish their strengths and which section they belonged to. Nyxus noticed something as the duel progresses, everyone was not holding back. She also noticed how Tynna and Oaksis would scribble something on the pad they were holding before looking back at the pair. Nyxus saw different strategies in every pair. There's those who wields magic; those who can control the wind, fire or water, the elves who uses their fast reflexes and bow and arrow to their advantage, the harpies who puts their flying ability into good use to fight off their opponents, and some humans who knows how to use weapons and armors really well. When the current pair were done with their duel- another elf winning against the harpie, a human from her side of the group, walks up to the center, followed by Antheia on the opposing team. There were murmurs starting as soon as they saw Antheia walking upfront, but the man looks unfazed as he stared at Antheia with a smug face. He was feeling confident of his ability, especially when he saw that Antheia, the elf, don't have any bow or arrow in her. But no matter how much Nyxus tried to focus on the pair in front of her, the murmurs and gossips still caught her attention. Especially when she heard those at her back talking about Antheia in hush voice "Oh my deities, now I can finally let go of the breath I've been holding on for far too long" "Why? What's wrong?" "You don't know? Oh you're new here, aren't you?" "Yes" "Explains why. Anyway, that girl, that is Antheia Fiona Vatrra. She's one of the strongest student here in ASEA. Although she's not from a prominent family, she still managed herself a place in the Elites, and she's one of their unbeatable contender." Antheia Fiona Vatrra? Hm. What a lovely name "No way. Her?" Nyxus' brow creased at that question. Why? What's wrong with her? She wanted to ask as she stared at Antheia, but opted not to and just continued eavesdropping. The other girl laughed at her before answering. "It may not look like it, but trust me, that girl is dangerous." And after that, the two voices suddenly disappeared just as the duel started. Everyone watched them attentively, waiting for what's going to happen. A fire suddenly erupted from the man's hand, making everyone gasp as they weren't expecting that A fire sorcerer. I see. Unlike from the other sorcerers earlier, this man wasn't carrying any staff that's why people might have assumed he's a full blooded human. The fire sorcerer started blasting shots after shots towards Antheia's direction, but the latter only evaded it like it was nothing. He tried attacking her again, this time with a much bigger fireball, but just like what happened earlier, Antheia still manages to get away unscathed. The man was starting to get pissed as he summoned another fire and casted it towards Antheia's direction, but still to no avail. She still manages to avoid it using her elven reflexes. "Is that all she could do? Avoid his attacks and run away?" The voice from earlier suddenly asked, but was only shush by the other. "Huh are you really that coward that all you could do is to dodge it? Aren't you one weak elf?" The guy mock, clearly mad that he still can't get through the elusive elf. Sweats was pricking on his face and neck, while Antheia just looked bored Feeling insulted, the man summoned another massive fireball. Big enough that even him was almost swallowed by it, however, before his fireball could reach Antheia, the ground shakes fervently, and seconds later, a massive root came out from nowhere and devoured the fire like it's nothing. Leaving everyone shock. All eyes went wide as they stared gawking at her. "Are you done? Then it's my turn now" Everyone felt goosebumps when Antheia speaks, her soothing and serene voice held danger in it. And in one swift move of her wrist, another root sprung out from the ground. Holding the man tightly on each of his feet. He tried burning the roots but another would sprung back again. Now he was mad. The man glared at Antheia and aimed another attack on her, but just like how everyone didn't expected the sudden roots coming out from the ground, Antheia's fast and sudden movements left everyone gaping. The elf who was just standing still on her position awhile ago was now behind the man, kicking him hard that he flew and got out from the vines that was holding him. The impact was so strong that the ground he landed at shook and left a crack. It took him several minutes before standing up and coughing up blood, but still he regain his balance and faced Antheia again. The man has alot of cuts and bruises on his body. His nose was even bleeding nonstop, and his clothes were also ripped because of what happened but he still stood unaffected infront of her. He casted another fire, this time, he made it rain. The raining flame got bigger and bigger that everyone immediately got scared, thinking that the fire would burn them. However, to their surprise, a thick bright purple mist covered them all. Protecting them from the sorcerer's raining flame. Seconds later, they heard a loud scream. And with the disappearance of blinding purple light, the rain of fire also stopped. When their views got cleared, what they saw made them gasped in horror. Half of the man's body was trapped inside a tree's bark, a vine wrapped around his mouth, and his right arm was burned. He got burned by his own flame. They all turned around Antheia, but just like them, her eyes were in shock as she stared at her hands. As if she was not expecting something to happen. And that moment, the match between an Elf who has the ability to summon a tree, vines and roots and a fire wielding sorcerer ended. Chief Tynna immediately rushed over the man. She glanced at Antheia, before looking back at him then suddenly, the bark entrapping him disappeared and the man fell unconscious. Nyxus then heard the girl's voice snickering behind her while talking impassively. "That's why." She doesn't know what she meant by that, but she's got a hunch that it may be connected to what they had just witness "Who is she?" She heard another voice, this time it was a man's voice. She turned around and saw a man just right beside her. He was wearing a black shirt and a tattered pants. He's got a red hair and a piercing on his left ear The girl, which Nyxus took notice was a Dwarf, smiled at him and glanced at Antheia. "She is Antheia Fiona Vatrra. An elf that has the ability to control the nature. Considered as one of ASEA's strongest yielder." She said proudly.
