Angela quickly followed and when she landed on the floor she was laughing. I say as I help her up, “Wasn’t that fun?” She nods then says, “That was very exciting.”
Lux laid down but his head was facing us. He was watching us interact and even though he couldn’t speak I could tell he was enjoying his time with us. I walked up to Lux and hugged his side and said, “I missed you a lot. I’m sorry I left so suddenly.” He pushed me lightly and Angela asked as she got closer, “Why did you leave?”
I take a deep breath and I see Angela get nervous as she quickly says, “You don’t have to tell me about that.” I smile then say as I pat Lux’s face, “After my father died, my mother was unable to take control of the affairs my father had. I, as their only daughter, had to take the position for her. I did everything my father taught me and I was merciless, cunning and very ambitious. I made a lot of treaties, created a lot of companies to help us make money in the human world and won a lot of battles. In the short time I took over I had done so much that all I really looked for was wars. My mother saw this and I think that was the main reason why she got out of her depression and decided to take over again.” I chuckle as I continue, “She told me that she never wanted me to take the burden of the throne too early so when she saw my bloodlust she snapped out of her depression because my father also wanted me to live a normal life before I had to take the throne. She told me to go and travel, maybe I would find the thing that I was missing. I asked her before I left what it was that I was missing but she said I would know as soon as I found it.” I stop and smile as I remember finding Sebastian. I look at Lux then say, “While I was traveling and living as a human I found my mate.” Angela looks at me then says, “Is he human?” I shake my head then say as I look at Lux, “He is a werewolf.”
Lux’s head rises and looks at me upsetly. Angela gasped but ran up to me when she saw Lux’s reaction. I sigh loudly as I say, “I know you don’t like them but please try to understand that I have no control over who is my mate.” He huffs and I say again, “I’m truly sorry that he is not to your liking but as my mate I have accepted him.” He turns away from me and begins walking toward the other side of the river. I sigh again and Angela asks, “Why is he so mad?” I take her hand and say, “When he was still a baby his parents were killed by some werewolves and he saw them killed. He was next but I was near when it happened so I saved him and I took him in. I had just taken the throne and it was my first battle but when I saw him I knew that he was meant to be with me.” I look at Lux drinking water and Angela asks in a low voice, “How do you know who your mate is?” I looked at her then said, “He mesmerized me with a look, I felt scared of him because even though I didn’t know him everything in my body screamed to be with him and when we finally kissed I felt like he belonged with me.” I had a big smile as I spoke of him and she said as she smiled too, “I wish to find my mate too.”
I hug her then say, “Now as a Princess, you will meet many new people and hopefully one of them is your mate.” She nodded, then said, “I hope to find him one day.” We were talking about how Angela had never met anyone that she ever liked when I saw the sky begin darkening. I turned to where Lux was sulking when I noticed that he wasn’t there. I quickly got up and said to Angela, “Did you see Lux leave?” She was by my side quickly and said, “No, I thought he was still there.” I said to her as I unsheathe my sword, “Stay close to me. I don’t know where he is or why he vanished without us noticing.” She got behind me and we began our way towards the other side of the river.
As we got closer I noticed foot steps leading towards the woods. I cautiously followed them and as we got close to a cave I heard a low growl. I quickly covered Angela and said to her, “Be very quiet.” She nodded and I concentrated on my surroundings. I heard the growling coming from the cave. I said to Angela, “It’s coming from the cave.” She said softly, “Let’s go see if it’s not Lux.” I nodded and she held onto my shirt tightly as we walked towards it.
As we entered I saw a tall man walking towards us and I quickly began to back away. The last thing you want in a battle is to be in a restricted area. We got out and when I thought it was a good place to fight I stopped. A tall, tan, muscular man with golden brown eyes and dirty blond hair walked out. I looked at him suspiciously and said as he got closer, “Stay where you are and tell us who you are.” He looked at me with a smile then said with a deep voice, “Lux.” I looked at him confused and he pointed to himself then said, “Lux.” I frowned then said, “You expect me to believe you are Lux.” He nodded then said as he pointed at me, “Alice.” My frown deepened and I was losing my temper when Angela looked at him. She walked from around me and said, “What have you done with Lux?” His smile vanished and he looked at Angela intently before walking up to her. I quickly grabbed her and jumped on a tree but he followed my movement quickly. I continued to dodge him but he was right behind me. Angela was quiet and I was worried that he might want to hurt her.
I arrived at the river and I placed Angela on the ground as I took my stand to fight. He stopped chasing us but I knew he wanted to get close to her because his eyes never left her. She was very quiet and had a confused expression. I said to her, “I need you to snap out of it.” She looked at me and I quickly charged at the man when she managed to tackle me. I fell to the ground but I managed to make sure I didn’t hurt myself or her. I sat up and said angrily, “We could have gotten seriously injured.” She gulped then said, “I think he’s my mate.” I looked at her surprised then I saw the man walk up to us. He extended his arms to us and I saw Angela take it. As soon as they touched I saw how Angela jumped away from him and said, “Who are you?” He gulped and said, “Mine.” He hugged Angela and I said as I got up, “Well, if she is your mate the least you can do is tell her who you are.” He looked at me and said with a smile as he pointed to himself, “Lux.” I shake my head then say as I look at the sky, “We need to go back home but my son left us stranded.” He shook his head then let go of Angle as he walked to the other side of the river and began to shift.
